Chapter 239 He’s Back
Before Chris could reply to her, Freya received another text message.
This time, it was Mikael who texted her. ‘Don’t bother with Chris. We’re at the Trinity Club now. When he saw Matthew publicly announcing you as his ideal type, he planned to beat him up, stuff him in a sack, and throw him into a river.
While Freya was speechless, she received a notification that she was added to a group chat named Three Hunks.
‘Mikael has added you to this group,’ she read on the screen and checked that the members. of the group chat were Chris, Radley, and Mikael.
In no time, Mikael also added Poppy and Regina to the group, and the group chat suddenly became lively. Subsequently, he posted a screenshot of his private conversation with Chris in the group.
In that screenshot, Chris, upholding the principle of protecting his brother’s wife and not allowing anyone to bully her, was planning on how to get rid of Matthew.
The group fell silent until Regina texted, ‘Chris, don’t act impulsively!’
‘Mikael, you traitor!’ Chris exclaimed, and Freya couldn’t help but chuckle.
Then, another message appeared in the group. ‘Good idea, but Frey might be upset, Radley said, and the group fell silent again.
In the private chat, Freya received several documents from Radley. He and Wilson had. successfully signed the contract.
‘I’ll be back tomorrow,’ he told her after that.
Tomorrow? Freya repeated in her head, pursing her lips. Just last night, he had clearly said he would stay for three more days. What time is your flight? I’ll pick you up, she offered.
‘It’s alright. I’ll look for you in West Geft, he replied.
Freya agreed but didn’t expect him not to ask about Matthew,

Freya was nestled in Brandon’s office, a box of snacks sent by the Monaghans next to her. The delivery guy said that it was prepared at Radley’s request, and she was surprised by this
man’s thoughtfulness.
As she nibbled the snacks, she watched Brandon make tea. “Master, how has Mrs. Lane’s health been?”
“She’s almost fully recovered. Just a little weak,” Brandon answered this with a satisfied smile.
Freya nodded. She hadn’t found a chance to check on Trisha’s pulse recently, but she assumed that her condition had improved.
The master and disciple enjoyed the snacks with tea, and at noon, the Monaghans sent them lunch.
“It’s been a long time since I last saw Madam Daniella. I should visit her soon.” Freya brought
up during lunch.

Brandon glanced at her belly. “You should stay home and rest more. Radley is coming back, and once he’s back, he’ll handle things here. You should focus on taking care of yourself at home.”
Lowering her head, Freya caressed her belly. Recently, she could clearly feel that the baby had become more active and often kicked her, but her energy level was declining at the same time. Besides feeling sleepy, she also felt more and more pain in her back.
“You’re already seven months pregnant, you shouldn’t be running around like this. It’s really worrying.” Brandon chided.
She smiled. “I’m fine.”
Others thought she was only seven months pregnant, but the Kaufmann family knew that she was already eight months pregnant. Because of this, Sylvia would lecture her whenever she went out.
She stayed at the West Geft Joint Department until 1:30 p.m. when she received a phone call. The caller ID showed an unknown number, and she heard the voice of a middle-aged woman on the other end after answering the call.
“Hello, is this Miss Kaufmann?”
“Yes, who is this?” Freya asked.
The polite tone of the middle-aged woman’s voice turned cold after hearing the confirmation.
“I am Matthew’s mother.”
Frowning, Freya already had an idea in her mind but maintained her courtesy. “Hello, Mrs.
Hood. How can I help you?”
Freya’s only impression of Lorelei Bronson, Matthew’s mother, was from the day Matthew’s younger brother died-when she saw a fierce woman getting physical in the cemetery.
Even though she was the mother of both Matthew and his brother, Trevor, she jumped to the idea that Matthew had tampered with the brakes when Trevor borrowed Matthew’s car and got into an accident because the brakes failed. Hence, Freya thought of her as an extremely biased.

Dumbfounded, Freya thought, This isn’t a dinner invitation, it’s an order.
Sympathy started to well up in her chest for Matthew, and she sent a text to him. ‘Matthew, your mother called and said she wants to invite me to your house for dinner. Can you please tell her that I’m not free today?”
In no time, Matthew replied, ‘Frey, you overestimated me. If my parents would listen to me, would we have such a strained relationship?”
She frowned. ‘Should I call her to decline the invitation?”
After a long pause, he finally replied with a voice message. “I was impulsive about this today. and didn’t place my parents’ reaction into consideration, but you should still come today. With my mother’s personality, she may go to the Kaufmanns’ tomorrow if you don’t come today.”
After listening to the voice message, Freya sighed.

The Kaufmanns and the Hood family were business partners, and although the Hood family had more to gain from the Kaufmanns in their cooperation, the relationship shouldn’t be strained.
Lorelei probably called because she was genuinely worried that Matthew and Freya had a relationship, so she should go, clarify everything, and prevent this from happening again in
the future.
At 3 p.m., Radley walked into the West Geft Joint Department, and Brandon’s mouth twitched when he saw Radley entering his office. “It’s suffocating to stay in the office. I’m going out for a walk,” Brandon said, leaving casually, and only Radley and Freya were left in the room.
Radley held a document in his hand, with Connor following behind him.
Freya’s eyes flickered slightly. “You’re back.”
“Yeah,” Radley responded and turned to look at Connor. “Return to the Monaghan Group and bring the document we just received.”
“Okay.”
Just as Connor left the room, Radley walked up to Freya and embraced her. He didn’t dare to exert too much force, afraid of squeezing her belly.
