Chapter 162 How Is She Hiding So Well?
Michael and Eugene left with determined expressions, while Freya asked Jakob to return to work as well.
Only Brisa sat in the hospital room, munching on an apple and playing with her phone.
Freya found Danna’s address. She was previously driven out of Caltun by Radley.
But after Danna left Caltun, her whereabouts were clear for a while. Recently, she had disappeared without a trace.
It seemed that Danna wasn’t stupid. She knew hiring assassins to kill someone might expose her whereabouts, so she hid herself.
Freya furrowed her brows as she read the various information about Danna on the computer, feeling puzzled.
She knew Danna’s abilities. Her previous crude and malicious tricks indicated that she had limited intelligence.
However, how did she manage to keep herself hidden so well this time?
Is someone helping her?
Freya narrowed her eyes.
Then, her phone rang, and she glanced at it. It was a video call from Radley.
She hesitated for a moment before answering the call.
The man’s face soon appeared on the screen of her phone.
Radley truly had an extraordinarily handsome appearance. Freya felt that he would look like an exquisite phone screensaver if he didn’t move.
Radley’s deep voice rang in her ear. “I’ve seen the evidence you sent. I’ve already sent Connor to find Danna, but it seems that she’s not at her previous residence anymore.”
“I know. I sent someone to find her. Someone is helping her hide her tracks.”
“Leave this matter to me. After Connor finds her, I will bring her to you. Just focus on recuperating.”
Freya smiled. “That’s not necessary. I’m not injured.”
The previous news of her injuries was just a ploy to lure out the Octo Adelphos.
After she finished speaking, they fell silent.
Freya pursed her lips, still bothered by the incident where Radley climbed up the side of the building and forcefully kissed her.
She had heard about her “hardships” from Braxton, but it felt like she was listening to someone else’s story.
However, she had been in contact with Radley for a while.
During this period, he had saved her more than once, and her previous resentment had gradually
disappeared.
Slightly embarrassed, she coughed lightly. “Your injuries haven’t fully healed yet, so you should focus on resting. Don’t get back to work so quickly.”
The corners of Radley’s lips curled into a smile, and his voice became softer and mellow. “Alright.”
When the call ended, Freya sat on the bed, holding her phone while lost in thought.
“Freya?” Brisa’s voice interrupted her thoughts.
She responded, “What’s wrong?”
“Why are you lost in thought?” Brisa looked suspicious. “Have you fallen for Radley Monaghan? Why do you look so contemplative after having that video call?”
“That’s impossible!” Freya gritted her teeth.
Brisa didn’t pursue the matter. “Ink and Scoundrel asked if you’re getting discharged today.”
Freya nodded. “Dismiss everyone around the hospital. I should get discharged too.”
News of her critical condition had been circulating outside, and now it was time for her to appear good and healthy.
Freya sent a message to Edward, asking him to announce on Twitter that she was in good condition.
At 5 p.m. Freya leisurely walked out of the hospital building where she had been staying for a long time and saw several people approaching her.
Isabella was visibly angry as she stared at Freya with red eyes. “You heartless woman! Braxton told me what happened. How could you not tell me in advance? I thought you were really going to die!”
Hearing that, Freya hurriedly tried to appease her, “Everyone in Caltun knows that you and I are close. If I had informed you in advance, no one would have believed it. Just think of it as helping me.”
While gritting her teeth, Isabella barked, “Get in the car!”
Freya obediently got into the car, behaving even more obediently than a kid with her mother.
“There are several reporters outside the hospital. Braxton had someone disperse them.” Isabella drove the car out of the hospital’s back entrance. “Your assistant and Matthew have been coming here frequently lately, as well as the lead actress of Moonlit Journey; what’s her name again?”
“Aya Cole.” Freya smiled.
Speaking of which, she had pretty good friends.
Moonlit Journey was about to premiere in a few days, and Aya had become popular because of some behind–the–scenes footage.
Freya had previously recruited Aya under Summerzone Entertainment, which was a subsidiary company of the Kaufmann Group. She heard many entertainment companies had offered a lot of money to poach her, but she declined them all.
Regarding that matter, Aya probably had no clue that Freya knew about it because they had never

While Isabella drove, Freya took out her phone and looked at it.
Edward had received news about Freya being well that afternoon. On the other hand, Aya and the others found out later and sent her many messages.
Matthew’s messages had flooded her phone.
‘Kittie, Braxton won’t let me pick you up from the hospital, but I’ll come to your house tonight to see you!
‘Kittie, did you see my message?‘
‘You heartless little thing.
Freya chuckled. Her relationship with Matthew on the internet was already ambiguous enough, and Braxton was probably worried that he would attract a lot of attention if he came.
“I probably should organize a gathering to celebrate my discharge and meet up with my friends.”
Isabella snorted. “You weren’t even injured.”
That woman was good at holding grudges, so Freya obediently sat still.
The car returned to the Kaufmann Residence. When Freya and Isabella entered the living room, they saw Edward sitting restlessly on the couch.
“Frea, you’re back!” Edward stood up abruptly, looking at her with teary eyes.
Freya had known Edward for so long, but she had never seen him with teary eyes before. While feeling touched, she felt sad too.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry. Don’t you have classes today? Why did you come over so early?”
Edward’s voice sounded devastated, and he tightly clenched his hands, suppressing his emotions. “I wanted to see you in person as soon as possible!”
He had heavy dark circles under his eyes. During Freya’s time in the hospital, Braxton didn’t allow anyone to visit her, which rendered him unable to sleep well at night because he would constantly have nightmares about her dying, only to wake up in a panic.
“Now that you’ve seen me, you can rest assured.” Freya’s voice was gentle as she reached out and patted the boy’s shoulder.
Edward nodded heavily and slightly bowed his body.
Chuckling, Freya patted his head and coaxed him, “I’ll organize a gathering tonight, so stay if you don’t have any classes. I’ll take you out for dinner.”
“Sure. I don’t have classes.” Edward smiled as he gazed tenderly and warmly at Freya.
In the meantime, Isabella watched from the side with slightly furrowed eyebrows.
Later, Freya and Isabella sat in the study, drinking tea. Freya was afraid Edward would feel bored, so she let him play video games on the side.
The three of them stayed in the study. Freya held her phone, replying to the texts one by one.
Melissa quickly replied with a video call.
Freya raised an eyebrow and accepted it. Soon, Melissa’s flushed face from jogging appeared on the
screen.
Behind her, a figure full of killing intent could be seen from afar. Hannah howled, “Melissa Marshall, stop right there! You were crying as if Freya was about to die. You said she was on the brink of death.”
