Chapter 147 She Was Actually Afraid
Freya placed the vegetables by the stove and quickly began cooking.
She noticed that she was quite skilled, almost instinctively knowing what seasonings to use, and the accompanying vegetables were quickly transformed into exactly eight dishes.
After setting the food on the workbench, Freya stared at the dishes in front of her without saying anything.
These eight dishes looked very familiar to her and, based on what she had previously seen on the old phone, they should all be foods Radley enjoyed.
The dishes on the table were steaming hot, and Freya sat silently at the table, vaguely recalling what she had previously documented.
When she was in Smalzot Yard, she would always make these eight dishes while waiting for Radley to return home.
But after they got married, Radley had never once tried her cooking.
At this, Freya felt a pang of sadness. She looked up and saw Radley already starting to eat.
“Radley, why are you doing this?” She had a hunch about what was going on.
When she stopped to think, all the places Radley had taken her to today were places that housewives often go to.
Not just that, they also went to a perfume store. She enjoyed making perfumes as a hobby, and it seemed that she frequently created scents for Radley in the past.
Is he trying to help me remember the past?
Radley ate his food with his eyes gleaming slightly. “I just wanted to know what our life was supposed to be like before.”
Freya tightly pursed her lips. “Although I’m grateful to you, I only see you as a business partner now. At most, we can be good friends. Don’t get too caught up in the past; we need to move forward.”
Instead of responding, Radley just ate his meal in silence.
Freya took a deep breath. This meal left her feeling conflicted. In fact, she had no idea her cooking was so good, and her heart ached.
The whole time she was in the Kaufmann family, she had never cooked for her mother or brother, but she was doing all of that for Radley.
Having done that for two years, even if she had lost her memory now and looked at it from an observer’s perspective, Freya still believed it wasn’t worth it.
After finishing their meal, Radley led Freya to a small office.
“You used to enjoy creating scents here
Freya’s eyes darted around the space.
Radley continued, “The agarwood scent you made before was really nice. It has a calming effect. However, I can no longer find anyone who can create that kind of scent.”
He remained expressionless. “Can you help me create some more?”
That wouldn’t be a problem for Freya. She quickly sat down and picked up a few perfume boxes to look at the ingredients, which were quite well prepared. However, the process of making perfume actually required many days.
After some thought, Freya decided to create a simplified version for Radley.
“Your scent is just agarwood with herbs added for relaxation and focus. Some herbs must be boiled, while others must be steeped, before being combined into a powder.” Freya said quietly. “It takes a long time. If you want it, I’ll make it at home and have someone deliver it to you later.”
Freya’s expression was calm, as if she had completely let go of the
past.
When she was done creating the scent, it was already afternoon, so Radley drove her back to the Kaufmann Residence.
In the car, both of them were silent. Freya was agitated and restless, and she felt a tinge of fear deep within.
What am I afraid of?
Freya bit her lip. She seemed to be afraid of getting too close to Radley, fearing that if he got too close, she would fall in love with him.
It looks like falling in love with Radley two years ago wasn’t a coincidence. Perhaps he’s just my type!
At this, Freya pinched her hand, forcing herself to return to reality.
Uh-uh, I can’t make the same mistake twice!
On a weekend, Freya, Ink, Heartless Scoundrel, and Tisch agreed to meet.
Freya texted Ink and decided to bring Jakob along.
Since all four of them would be present, it would be an excellent chance to evaluate Jakob
Freya chose a restaurant as the venue. As the host, she arrived at the restaurant early

Then, she waited for them in the front yard of the restaurant, which had a nice view of a bamboo forest and peacocks wandering around in the distance.
As she waited, a light breeze blew.
Brisa arrived after five minutes.
When Brisa wasn’t working, she liked to dress in a floral dress, which made her look very different from how she usually did.
Jakob was picking up Heartless Scoundrel, so the two of them were conversing in the courtyard.
Brisa pouted. “I still haven’t met Ink yet! I don’t even know what he looks like. You mentioned that he’s the son of a wealthy family in Hartterre, but which one specifically?”
Freya smiled. “You’ll know when he arrives!”
After about ten minutes of waiting in the yard, they heard noises coming from the front gate.
The owner personally greeted a man in a duckbill cap who walked in. He was about 5’9″ tall and appeared to be skinny.
Brisa took a quick curious glance over. Since Jakob went to get Heartless Scoundrel, this person must be Ink!
Ink walked up to them, took off his hat and mask, and revealed a radiant smile.
He was extremely handsome, and he had an aura that was difficult to place. His striking features resembled the noble son in ancient paintings.
Brisa was taken aback with just one glance. It all seemed too absurd to her. “It’s you?!”
Ink chuckled. “Tisch, long time no see.”
Freya softly laughed next to them.
Ink’s full name was Inken Callahan, the son of the Callahan family of Hartterre. In Hartterre, he was a well-known figure.
There were rumors that the reason this man was physically frail was a disease he contracted while still inside his mother. As a result, he became a pretty boy who was always sick. When the wind blew, he’d cough uncontrollably, and even a little bit of rain would make him feel ill.
The Callahan family had a lot of influence in Hartterre, but sadly, they only had one child, leading the people of Hartterre to speculate that their legacy would end with him.
Tisch had actually met Inken before.
When she was on a mission in Hartterre, she got herself into a hopeless situation that almost got her caught. At the time, she happened to run into the Callahan family’s son, who was passing through the area on his way to the hospital, and she took him hostage.
Later, Tisch was able to escape, but it was said that Inken had been ill for six months as a result of this incident.

Right now, Tisch was gritting her teeth and glaring at Ink.

Mr. Inken was always very good at everything; however, he was weak physically.
But now, Inken was beaming, standing tall and straight, and radiating a sense of being above the norm. Brisa was so pissed that she wanted to punch him!
Ink immediately put his hands up. “Don’t blame me, blame your own lack of foresight! I knew you were i danger, so I went to the hospital for you and offered myself as a hostage! Did you even stop to consider that there are other routes to the hospital from the Callahan Residence?”
Tisch gritted her teeth and chased after Inken to fight.
The two fought against each other and Tisch was defeated.
She snarled. “You really are the frailest pretty boy in Hartterre!”
Inken let go and turned to look at Freya.
“I didn’t really hide my identity. The one who’s really hiding is right in front of us. If Freya hadn’t reveale her identity as the Green Scylla to you, I’m afraid we would all still be in the dark!”
With those words, he turned his attention to Freya. She was just enjoying the show, but after hearing this, she raised a brow.
Brisa immediately added, “Yes, she even pretended not to know my identity and made me her assistant for a long time!”
She felt really stupid because of that.
Freya sneered. “You really know how to stir up trouble, Inken!”
“No, no! I’m just stating the facts!”
After a while of laughter and banter, there was a noise at the gate once more.
Jakob stood at the entrance, respectfully leading a man into the courtyard.
Brisa and Freya had both seen Jakob, but not Heartless Scoundrel.
Normally, in their group chat, Heartless Scoundrel behaved like a scoundrel in the group, living up to his
name.
However, the three were silent as they stared at the man in front of them. What was going on?
