Chapter 146 Returning To Smalzot Yard
At that moment. Radley’s expression got slightly tense as he felt nervous for the first time in a long while.
Where he took Freya were places where they had shared memories together. However, he did not care about their marriage back then. So, he rarely took Freya out on dates,
Radley knew several places where Freya often went through video surveillance.
Freya would either go to the few spice shops when she needed to stock up for seasoning purposes or to supermarkets around Smalzot Yard.
The car eventually stopped in front of a large supermarket, and Freya was puzzled when she saw the sign. “Why did you bring me to a supermarket?”
Radley only replied, “Follow me.”
Then, he led Freya into the supermarket.
They eventually found the fresh produce section after a little bit of walking around.
Radley pushed the shopping cart, and he picked up vegetables here and there before putting them in the
cart.
It was evening when most people would be at work, and it was mostly middle-aged ladies strolling around in the supermarket at that time.
Radley’s appearance immediately attracted a lot of attention due to the aura he always carried and his high-end suit. He didn’t look like someone who would be here at all.
Freya only followed Radley helplessly. Then, she watched him pick up a piece of dried beef.
“How are you planning to cook this meat?” She frowned.
Radley thought for a moment before he answered, “I will braise it.”
“Why not grab this instead if that’s the case?” Then, Freya skillfully found a piece of beef brisket out of the assortment of meat, and she handed it to the lady whose task was to weigh the meat before selling it in the supermarket.
The lady was fascinated by Radley’s appearance, and she ran to weigh the meat with a blush. Then, she returned and gave them a receipt shyly.
Radley stared at Freya and asked, “How do you know so much about this?”
Freya was a little surprised now that he mentioned it, but she did not react.
She only frowned as she felt confused.
Radley continued to ask, “Do you often cook for the Kaufmanns?”
But, Freya shook her head. “I have no interest in cooking. I don’t like the smell of fumes from cooking oil.
However, she instinctively knew which part was beef clod and beef brisket when it came to picking beef just now.
Freya’s gaze fell on the meat shelf. She couldn’t figure out how she did it as well.
Radley pushed the cart and called out before she could think further, “Let’s go. Let’s return.”
Return to where?
Freya followed him as she wondered.
They carried the bags out of the supermarket and loaded them in the trunk of the car.
At that moment, a woman who had just done shopping saw them, and she smiled. “What a young and lovely couple.”
Freya felt embarrassed.
Radley drove to a street next to the supermarket after that, and he went all the way in until they reached a large private property.
Then, he drove to the other end of the property. Freya was stunned by the large garden in front of her after she got out of the car.
She felt inexplicably familiar with the garden.
Meanwhile, Radley parked the car at the front door of the villa after the gate of the garden opened.
Freya felt familiar with the scenery surrounding her after getting out of the car.
At that moment, she had a map formed in her head as she looked at the end of the road.
What she felt was probably due to her loss of memories. She must have spent a lot of time here during the two years which she couldn’t remember. That was why she had an inexplicable sense of familiarity with the surrounding.
At that time, Freya realized that she really might have spent two years here.
She turned to look at Radley. But, she couldn’t get any clue from his poker face.
“Well, what are you waiting for?” Radley asked.
Then, she followed him into the Smalzot Yard.
The butler and the maids approached them as soon as they entered the door. The maids were surprised to see Freya, and they immediately called out, “Madam.”
However, Freya shook her head as she smiled. “Call me Miss Kaufmann.”
The maids took the initiative to take over the shopping bags from Radley.
But, he rejected coldly. “You don’t need to do this. Dismiss.”
The maids were puzzled, but they backed away anyway.
Returning To Smalzot Yard
Radley headed to the kitchen following that.
Freya only followed behind him silently as she felt something was funny about staying inside the house.
Radley placed the vegetables near the sink in the kitchen. On the other hand, Freya was surprised when she saw him rolling up his sleeves and started washing the vegetables.
At that time, Freya felt awkward, and she asked, “What are you trying to do, Radley? Are you treating me to a meal at your house? Is this how you want me to repay you for saving my life?”
But, Radley ignored her as he continued to wash the vegetables with an elegant posture. He didn’t appear like washing vegetables at all. He was more like cleaning up a piece of art the way Freya saw it.
“I do want to treat you to a meal. I don’t think you would have come if I haven’t done it this way.”
Freya only pursed her lips and accepted his words.
She sat on a stool opposite the sink and watched Radley wash the vegetables.
He washed the lettuce thoroughly slice by slice. Although it still appeared fresh and tender, it was also starting to wilt from being washed too long.
Freya rolled her eyes up as she watched Radley spend an hour washing the vegetables. At that moment, she realized he was obsessive-compulsive about cleanliness.
Then, a maid came over with fruit, snacks, and tea on a tray.
Freya ate the fruit and drank some tea while she continued to watch him preparing a meal.
Radley placed a cutting board on the countertop, and he stared at the beef brisket with a knife in his hand. His actions next were quick and decisive.
However, it seemed that he rarely cooked as he didn’t get a good start, and a loud noise was heard on the countertop as he cut the meat.
At that moment, Freya frowned and almost spilled the tea in her mouth as she couldn’t watch it anymore. “Get away. Let me do it.”
“But… Don’t you hate the smell of fumes from cooking oil?” Radley asked.
Freya only sneered. “I’m convinced that you’re trying to poison me rather than making me fulfill your request. Look, you’ve washed the vegetables for so long that they’re almost wilted. Now, what are you doing trying to ruin this meat?”
Freya took over the knife after that. She was able to quickly cut the beef into small pieces that were suitable for braising as the knife was sharp.
She even exclaimed after cutting the meat, “See? These are fine works if I do say so myself!”
But, Radley only silently watched Freya while she was busy praising herself proudly.
Then, Freya put the beef in a stainless steel bowl, and she commanded. “Pass me the salt, Radley.”

It took him two minutes to find what she wanted, and he passed it to her.
Freya took it, and stared at it for a few seconds before she suggested, “Radley, why don’t you let your chef do this instead?”
At that moment, Radley furrowed his brows slightly. “What’s wrong?
Freya sneered. “You got it wrong!”
But, Radley replied indifferently, “No way. Sugar is granulated, and only salt has such a fine texture.”
“Your analysis is great. But, did you forget about something called starch in this world? Don’t you think your ‘salt’ is too fine?” Freya asked coldly.
She didn’t mean it in a bad way. Instead, she just wanted to ridicule him at that time.
The two of them sat around the countertop following that, having completed all the preparations before cooking.
However, Freya was confused after she had done with the seasonings.
“What are these vegetables for?”
Radley’s eyes flickered, and he gave off a suggestive look upon hearing that. “Why don’t you see what you can do with them?”
Freya laughed coldly as she finally realized that it was his plan to have her cook for him all along
