Chapter 93 Jared Felt Cheated On
“What happened?” the man uttered in confusion and turned around to check who dared to interrupt him.
At that instant, he stiffened when he saw a handsome man. His face was dark, and he exuded at cold yet majestic air. The man unknowingly gulped as he noticed how impeccably dressed the man before him. Obviously, he could guess his identity wasn’t ordinary.
Julia ignored the man’s surprised expression and looked at Jared. Her eyes narrowed as she asked, “Why are you here?”
“To see what my wife is doing in this kind of place,” Jared intoned coldly.
When his words fell, the onlookers looked at him strangely and whispered among themselves.
Seeing their reactions, Jared clenched his fist. His face was covered in frost as his gaze the private room where Julia had gone to.
darted to
Julia followed his line of sight, and her lips twitched, seeing Jared’s face clouded with gloom.
She took a deep breath and explained, “Even though that creep didn’t manage to harm my friend, I still have to teach him a lesson.”
At the mention of that scumbag, Jared recalled how Julia beguiled him, and his expression became even darker. He pursed his lips and said, “Next time you encounter something like this, just tell me. You don’t have to do it yourself.”
“I can handle it,” Julia retorted. She seldom relied on others because she was used to doing things. herself.
She thought nothing was wrong with her words, but when they reached Jared’s ears, it seemed she didn’t regard him as someone she could trust.
Seeing he didn’t say anything, Julia swiftly shifted the topic. “I’ve booked a restaurant. Let’s have dinner, shall we?”
Jared nodded, then his gaze fell on the private room once again.
“Wait here.” Without waiting for her to answer, he strode toward the room.
After a few seconds, miserable cries echoed throughout the club. Everyone watching the fun broke out in cold sweat. The man’s cries sounded like he was being slaughtered.
Even the man who tried to hit on Julia was frightened. His face turned white, and before Jared could leave the private room, he had already fled the scene.
After a short while, Jared stormed out of the room and turned to Joseph. “Send him to the police station.”
“Yes, Sir.” Joseph nodded and went inside the room.
Actually, when Jared found out Julia came there again, he told Joseph to investigate what happened last night.
Jared didn’t expect that a scumbag already had a history of harming countless girls. However, no one filed a complaint against him because of his cunning nature. He always took indecent videos of them and threatened those girls that he would post the videos online if they exposed him. Naturally, no one dared to go against him.
When Joseph dragged him out, his face was utterly unrecognizable. Blood oozed out his face, drenching his clothes, and even his legs were already deformed.

The onlookers inhaled sharply, and cold shivers ran down their spines. They looked at Jared in trepidation and swallowed their saliva.
Ignoring everyone’s gaze, Julia and Jared left the Rocket Pub and headed straight to the restaurant. Throughout their dinner, Jared was just silent until they went home.
Julia knew why he was unhappy, and she couldn’t help but sigh. Biting her lip, she said, “Is it okay if I send you lunch tomorrow?”
On hearing her words, Jared’s glum expression immediately brightened. Restraining himself from smiling, he responded, “Okay. I’ll wait for you.”
“What do you want to eat? I’ll go to the supermarket tomorrow to buy the ingredients, so it’ll be fresher.” Julia smiled. She wanted to cook for him, not only to coax him but to look for the Jade Buddha in his company. Since it wasn’t in his house, she suspected Jared had hidden that thing in his office.
“Anything.” He faintly smiled.
The next day, when Julia finished cooking, she carefully packed the food in the thermal lunchbox, then left the villa.
She hailed a cab and headed to Brook Corporation. Shortly after, Julia arrived at the company. She went inside and asked the receptionist where Jared’s office was. After all, this was her first visit.
However, the receptionist eyed her contemptuously as she spat, “Leave it here. Someone will take
it.”
When Julia heard the impatience in her tone along with her expression, she looked at her clothes and was rendered speechless.
Even though she was dressed casually, anyone could see she wasn’t a food delivery personnel.
Pursing her lips, Julia replied, “I’m not a delivery personnel.”
After hearing what she said, the receptionist sneered. Her gaze then darted to the thermal lunch box in Julia’s hand, and sarcastically said, “What is in your hands, then?”
“Well, I’m delivering lunch to your boss,” Julia still answered, despite her annoyance.
“Lunch delivery, huh!” The receptionist scoffed, casting an utter disdainful gaze at Julia. She had seen countless women pull different tricks to hook up with their boss, but this was her first time seeing a crude method to attract Jared’s attention.
“Sorry to tell you this, but I haven’t received any notice from the executive office. Moreover, our boss has particular preferences and never orders takeout,” she continued sarcastically.
On hearing her unsavory remarks, Julia’s expression darkened. Since it was Jared’s company, she held her temper in check out of respect for him. If it were someone else, her reaction might have been different.
Taking a deep breath, she smiled to mask her irritation. “I’m here to bring him food. If you don’t believe me, I’ll drop him a call.”
She then whipped out her phone and dialed Jared’s number, but the other line was busy. “Why isn’t he answering? Is he in a meeting?” she muttered to herself, unaware that the receptionist was looking at her as though she was looking at the clown.
“Okay, spare us the performance. I don’t have the time to be your audience. Hurry and leave. If you don’t, I’ll have security escort you out,” the receptionist stated. Her patience had entirely worn
thin.

Facing the receptionist’s hostile demeanor, Julia scoffed, and her expression turned chilly.
“Tsk. How can you be the receptionist when you’re this unprofessional? Don’t you know how you act might affect the company’s image?” Julia cocked her brows. A sense of impatience coursed through her.
“What did you say? Am I ruining the company’s image? Say that again if you’re brave enough!” the receptionist thundered. Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared at Julia.
Curling her lips in disdain, Julia blustered, “I’m talking about you! I wish I had a mirror to show you how unprofessional you are. Jumping to conclusions without verifying facts isn’t suitable for someone at the front desk. If I were a partner from another company, your attitude today could ruin our cooperation.”
Her words weren’t false. She handpicked the receptionist of the J&C Limited. That girl wasn’t only good–looking but also remarkably professional.
This wasn’t a slight against Jared’s competence. As the CEO of a huge corporation, it was only natural that he couldn’t take care of this thing by himself.
Infuriated, the receptionist shouted, “Security! Throw this woman out! She’s causing a disturbance!”
Hearing her cry, the security personnel hurried over.
Holding the lunch box, Julia hurriedly retreated toward the elevator and pressed the button without hesitation.
The receptionist quickly grasped Julia’s intentions and yelled, “She’s trying to take the elevator! Stop her!”
When the security guard heard her, he ran to the elevator and was about to pull Julia away, but before he could do so, the elevator door opened, and someone kicked him.
Before anyone could react, the person who stepped out of the elevator hugged Julia.
