Chapter 41 Julia’s Blind Date
Despite her courage, she couldn’t catch Jared before getting caught by Joseph. This woman is truly fearless!
After listening to her, one might wonder how she repeatedly challenged her boss’s limits if she wasn’t brave enough.
There are also members of the Scott family, including Naomi. If they attempt to hold back, the boss may also show some compassion out of respect for the deceased elder. There’s a saying that holds: if you don’t take action, nothing will change!
After leaving Scott’s house, Jared wasted no time and immediately called Julia.
“Hello?” Julia answered as she stepped out of the taxi and approached the hotel
entrance.
“Where are you headed?” Jared got into his car, eager to rush to Julia’s side, but he didn’t know her current location.
Julia paused and looked at her phone. Since Jared was asking, he must have been informed.
“What did your brother say?”
“Are you going on a blind date?” Jared couldn’t help feeling a pang of anger at the thought of Julia going on a blind date with another man.
Julia shrugged and replied, “I have no choice. My father forced my brother to set it up. Can I refuse?”
Jared had thoroughly investigated Julia’s situation. Among the twisted members of the Watson family, only Conrad was kind to her. He now understood why she had agreed to the blind date she was coerced.

Realizing this, Jared felt guilty. He had misunderstood her and let his better of him. She was already going through a tough time, and he should have been more understanding.
She must be feeling scared and helpless right now, he thought.
“Send me your location.”
“Are you coming over?” Julia asked without waiting for Jared’s response. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m coming to help you,” Jared replied calmly and sincerely.
These words surprised Julia. While Jared had once helped her by pretending to be a couple in front of Carter, it was unexpected that he now voluntarily offered his assistance.
“Do you have a different motive? Oh! Let me guess, you want a divorce, and this is your way of bringing it up?”
“Divorce?” Jared’s lips formed a cold, straight line, wondering if this was her idea. “You’re overthinking it.”
“Am I overthinking?” Julia’s eyes displayed skepticism, and she joked, “So you’re not doing this out of idleness, right?”
“Well, you can think that way,” replied Jared.
“Huh?” Julia was momentarily stunned, not quite grasping the meaning behind his words.
Jared’s eyebrows furrowed, his patience wearing thin. “Share your location.”
“I don’t need your help. I can handle it myself,” Julia truthfully said.
“Share your location.”
Julia sighed helplessly and sent her location.
“Julia, you’re finally here,” Conrad welcomed her.
Julia scrutinized Conrad with an observant gaze. “Are you alright?”
“Thanks to your excellent medical skills and care, I’ve nearly recovered. You were so cautious that you insisted I stay in the hospital to recover fully; otherwise, I would have been discharged long ago.”
As Conrad spoke, Julia continued to study him, realizing that his injuries weren’t
severe.
“Julia, after all, he is our father. Despite not being very kind to us before, he’s the only person in this world with a blood relationship with us,” Conrad said earnestly. “Our father has always had a bad temper, and it’s rare for him to take the initiative to reconcile with us this time. I hope after this family dinner, we can resolve our past issues and live together harmoniously.”
Julia’s expression grew colder. She wondered why her brother seemed so calm. It turned out that Philip had deceived him and told him that today was merely a family dinner.
“Let’s go inside,” Conrad pushed open the door to the private room and entered with Julia.
In the private room, besides Philip, Natalia, and her daughter, there was also a middle–aged man weighing at least 200 pounds.
Not surprisingly, this person was the one Philip referred to as Paul Andrew.
As soon as Paul Andrew laid eyes on Julia, his large eyes lit up like a scanner, and he leered at her, giving her an uncomfortable feeling.
Natalia had been watching Paul Andrew and appeared to be smitten by him. Julia couldn’t help but find it unsettling.
“Julia, why are you still standing there? Come over quickly and sit with Paul Andrew,”
Natalia greeted her with a smile.
Paul Andrew pulled out the chair next to him, moving too close for comfort. “Julia, come and sit here. We can have a nice chat,” he said.
Conrad frowned, sensing that something was off.
Initially, he found it strange that an outsider was present at their family dinner. Now, the situation was becoming increasingly inappropriate.
Julia glanced at Conrad, reading his thoughts from his expression. Despite neither of them being favored by Philip, her brother and she were treated somewhat differently. Conrad’s business acumen, despite his disfigured face, had greatly benefited the company. In contrast, Philip did not treat Conrad as harshly as he treated Julia.
For Julia, leaving the Watson family would be relatively simple, but Conrad was still caught in a dilemma. He never discussed it with her because he didn’t want to burden her.
However, now that matters had escalated to this point, she decided to show Conrad the true face of Philip.
Julia casually took a chair and sat down.
“Why are you sitting there?” Philip frowned and scolded her.
Julia stared back at Philip with defiant starry eyes and said, “You arranged a blind date for me with him. It’s just beginning, and you’re already rushing to push me onto him.” Conrad was shocked, his emotions rising like a storm. He looked at Philip with ine lous eyes.
e was gentle, it didn’t mean he was foolish. On the contrary, he was not igent but also qualified for the best university in the city with outstanding e was a top talent in the finance and economics department.
As intelligence, if he can no longer see the current situation, then he is erately pretending to be foolish.
Dad! You… you brought me here to set Julia up on a blind date?!” Conrad exclaimed, his face flushed with disbelief.
Philip’s expression darkened. If it weren’t for Paul Andrew’s presence, he would have already lost his temper. He retorted, “I’m doing this for your sister’s good. She lounges around all day and has been through failed relationships. Her reputation is tarnished, and no one wants to marry her. Paul Andrew is a kind man and doesn’t mind your sister’s past. He willingly agreed to this blind date.”
Conrad’s fists clenched tightly, his knuckles turning white as his face tensed, and his chest heaved with anger.
It was the first time Julia had seen Conrad this furious, highlighting just how outrageous Philip’s actions were.
“Dad! You’ve gone too far. Julia is right; you don’t deserve to be called a father!”
Conrad yelled out.
In an
explosive moment, Philip slapped him with a loud bang.
