Chapter 39 Julia’s Blind Date (1)
“What are you treating me and my brother like?! Even if you no longer like us, we are still
your flesh and blood! Look at what you’re doing. You’re using your biological son as a threat to force your biological daughter to marry an old man! If my mother were still alive, she would be heartbroken to see this.”
Philip’s face turned blue and purple, his anger on the verge of exploding. Just as he was about to lose control, Natalia intervened, taking his phone with a hypocritical smile and attempting to pacify him.
“Ah Yu, don’t get angry with your father. He’s doing this for his own good. You’re still young, and once you’re married, you’ll understand. It’s better to find someone older. Older people know how to care for others, and the person I introduced to, Paul, is a good match. So, if you come over now and meet him, you’ll fall in love. If don’t like him, we won’t force anything.”
you really
“Fine, I’ll go over,” Julia replied coldly, her eyes gleaming with determination.
If they wanted to use her for the Watson Family’s benefit, she would show them the consequences of such manipulation.
Concerning her brother, although he had recovered well from his injuries, it was best for him not to be discharged unless necessary. Julia was confident that when Philip took over Conrad’s care, the medical staff must have informed him of this. Philip’s disregard for Conrad’s life and well–being in favor of his so–called interests. angered Julia. She had no reason to be polite with such a cruel man.
Julia changed into a stunning red off–the–shoulder dress and applied seductive makeup. She then walked out of the room with a bag in hand.
Shiloh looked up at Julia, who was unusually dressed up, and couldn’t help but ask, “What are you doing?”
Julia slipped into high heels and replied, “I’m going on a blind date.”
“What?” Shiloh was taken aback, recalling Julia’s phone call from the Watson Family a few days ago. He remembered Philip had arranged a blind date with an older man in his fifties or sixties. Julia had refused directly and even blocklisted her father’s phone number.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t go? Why are you going now?” Shiloh inquired.
Julia looked at Shiloh, raising her eyebrows slightly. “Are you happy? If I succeed on this blind date, I can divorce your brother, and you won’t have to worry about my intentions towards him anymore.”
“I wish you a successful blind date,” Shiloh said, but his heart was filled with inexplicable emotions. He couldn’t pinpoint the nature of his feelings at that moment and didn’t bother dwelling on it.
“Thank you for your kind words,” Julia replied before leaving.
As Julia departed, Shiloh received a call from Jared.
“Hello? Bro, what’s up?” Shiloh answered.
“Did she wake up?” Jared inquired.
Shiloh glanced in Julia’s left direction and frowned, contemplating whether he should share this information with his brother.
“Hmm?” Jared couldn’t get a clear response and made a puzzled sound.
“Oh, she’s out,” Shiloh eventually replied.
“Out? Didn’t she say she wanted to rest? What’s she doing outside?” Jared probed further, sensing something was amiss in Shiloh’s intermittent words.
Just say it, whatever she does has nothing to do with him or his brother. Just say it.
Resolving to be truthful, Shiloh decided not to cover up anymore and admitted, “She said she went on a blind date.”
“What are you talking about?” Jared’s tone revealed surprise and disbelief.
