Chapter 38 Julia’s Fury
As Julia spoke those damning words in the audio recording, Jared’s heart filled with mixed emotions. A surge of joy washed over him, almost escaping through his eyes, but he quickly composed himself. His lips curled up in a fleeting smile, only to be concealed just as swiftly.
Cameron was taken aback, staring at Jared with wide eyes. Had she imagined it? Did Jared really smile now? It was impossible; Jared should be furious, given the situation. Cameron dismissed the thought, convinced she must have misread the situation. “Send me the recording,” Jared instructed, reaching for Cameron’s phone.
“Of course,” Cameron said with satisfaction. Thanks to her intelligence, she had secretly recorded the audio the day before. Julia wouldn’t be able to stay here longer after this.
As Jared received the recording, he turned around and went upstairs.

Cameron eagerly awaited the moment when Julia would be driven away.
However, when Jared reached the door of Julia’s room and raised his hand to knock, he suddenly hesitated and lowered it again.

Jared thought that Julia must have been exhausted last night while helping him suppress the effects of the medication. She had mentioned needing to catch sleep. Considering this, he decided not to disturb her at the moment and prioritized handling the affairs related to the Scott Family first.
Cameron was puzzled by Jared’s behavior. Why didn’t he go in? Not only did he refrain from entering, but he also returned downstairs. This wasn’t what she had expected. She thought Jared would be furious with Julia and have someone throw her out of the villa.
“Jared, why are you…” Cameron began questioning but was interrupted by Jared’s instruction to Joseph, “Let’s go.”
“Are you going to Naomi’s house? What about Julia?” Cameron blinked in confusion, unable to understand Jared’s change of plans.
After a moment of reflection, Cameron realized that Jared must be holding back for Shiloh’s sake. He didn’t want to create trouble for Julia while Shiloh’s legs were still an issue. Once Shiloh’s leg was cured, it would be the opportune time to drive Julia out of the villa.
Feeling triumphant, Cameron looked up at Julia’s room with a smirk.
“Just wait! It won’t be long before you’re kicked out of the Bei family!”
Later, as Julia was sleeping soundly, she was awakened by an unexpected phone call.
“Hello? Who is this?” Julia answered.
But before she could hear the response, she was met with a furious voice on the other

“Julia! Did you twist my words? I arranged a blind date with Paul, and you didn’t show up!”
Philip?
Julia glanced at the Caller ID and noticed it was not Philip’s usual phone number. She added Philip’s number to the blocklist a while ago, so he must call from a different phone.
“You’re twisting my words. I’ve already told you I won’t go,” Julia asserted calmly.
Philip was furious and seemed on the verge of exploding, “You’re getting more and more defiant in your speech. I’ve promised Paul already, how can you not come? Besides, Paul is only 52 years old, not that old. He’s still in his prime, and most importantly, his company is bigger than ours. Marrying him would make you a truly wealthy wife.”
“52 years old? Even older than you, isn’t that quite old? And I don’t want to be a wealthy wife,” Julia replied nonchalantly.
“You must come!” Philip ordered sternly, “The Andrew Family, we can’t afford to offend them. If you don’t go today and lose the opportunity to cooperate with the Andrew Family, it will create problems for us.”
“Oh, so you’re using me as a profit–making tool? Sorry, I can’t go. Since Natalia arranged this marriage, let her precious daughter Julia go,” Julia retorted lazily. Philip was once again infuriated by Julia’s words. He couldn’t believe she asked Julia to marry an old man. His precious daughter was highly accomplished in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. She was a well–known talented woman in society and had numerous wealthy suitors. Asking her to go on a blind date with an old man over half a century old was preposterous. It felt like pushing Julia into a pit of fire. Even though he wasn’t Julia’s biological father, there was no way he would ever do something like that.
“How could you agree to come for a blind date in the first place?” Philip asked, trying to maintain a calm tone to persuade Julia.
“You’re really annoying!” Julia was about to hang up the phone.
Just as she was about to disconnect the call, Philip’s voice caught her attention again.
“I knew you might not come, so I took your brother to the restaurant.”
Upon hearing this, Julia’s anger flared up instantly.
