Chapter 259: The Little Deer Collides
“Okay.”
After a while, Julia examined the man in the mirror, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
Jared already had good skin, but now, dressed so youthfully and stylishly, he resembled an idol participating in a talent show.
Julia continued to study Jared’s reflection, though Jared himself hadn’t glanced in the mirror once. He simply tried to remain as composed as possible, allowing Julia to enjoy herself.
Observing the resigned expression on Jared’s face, Julia couldn’t help but approach him, barely suppressing a grin.
Standing beside the man with his slender face, she gestured towards the mirror and said, “You really should take a look. You’re stunning! So vibrant and attractive; it makes me want to devour you.”
As Julia finished speaking, Jared instantly raised his head, his gaze locked onto Julia with a smoldering intensity.
“Really? You want to devour me?”
Julia’s heart skipped a beat. She had only used a metaphor, after all!
“Okay, I’ll let you.” Jared’s voice was filled with desire as he stared at the softness of Julia’s lips.
“Ahem, cough, cough –” The stylist couldn’t help bu
clear his throat, thinking that young couples nowadays were quite open, but this wasn’t their private space.
He had been standing nearby for a while, and they seemed to have forgotten about his presence. “Why don’t you go ahead and eat?” Jared challenged, waiting for Julia’s lips to make contact.
Julia glanced at the stylist beside them, who wisely turned away, focusing on his work and pretending not to notice.
“It’s taking quite a while; shall we head to the amusement park? Otherwise, the tickets will go to
waste.”
Was she kidding? She might have commented that Jared looked delicious in jest, but that didn’t mean she actually wanted to devour him.
If she did that and consumed him completely, she would be quite heartless, wouldn’t she?
After Julia finished speaking, she turned to leave. However, as she took a step forward, the man’s arms enveloped her waist. With a gentle lift, her heels left the ground.
Before she could react, the man’s slender lips captured her lips.
As Julia felt the man’s warmth and softness, her heart began to race for no apparent reason.
“Plop–plop–plop.”
Her heart pounded so rapidly that it felt like it no longer belonged to her.
Fortunately, the man had no intention of prolonging the kiss, and he released Julia in just about five seconds.
Julia blushed and glanced back at the stylist, who was discreetly staring at his own shoes.
“Let’s go.” Jared was in a cheerful mood, and he took Julia’s petite hand with his large one, leading her out of the barbershop.
Suddenly, Julia felt a twinge of regret. If she had known something like this would happen, why

did she waste her time shopping for clothes and getting a makeover with Jared?
Julia bit her lip, and there was still a lingering sensation on her lips, a tingling reminder.
The man was spoiling her so much, indulging her, and playfully teasing her, so a kiss was just a reward.
Little did Julia know that Jared was fixated on her lips with intense desire as she pondered this.
His gaze lingered as Adam’s apple bobbed up and down.
Was this woman trying to seduce him to the point of no return? She had even playfully licked her lips after the kiss!
He had to exert immense self–control not to succumb to the temptation of tasting her fully.
“What’s wrong?” Julia turned to find the man staring at her.
“You have something in your mouth.” Before Jared could finish his sentence, his fingers were already on Julia’s lips, gently wiping them, soft and delicate.
“What is it?” Julia looked at Jared’s hand, and Jared quickly hid it behind his back, rubbing his fingers a few times.
“It’s gone now. Let’s go. Which attraction do you want to try first?” Jared deliberately changed the subject.
Julia peered at him suspiciously, wondering if there had been anything on her lips at all. Or was it all in his imagination, and he simply wanted to touch her lips?
No way, could he be that insatiable and sensual?
But.
Julia recalled recent events and realized that the man had become increasingly bold in his actions. towards her.
And she couldn’t help but wonder if she had been behaving recklessly in her sleep lately. She’d wake up every morning with her neckline exposed and her lips slightly numb.
She could only ponder and speculate about these things, not directly confront the man. She doubted that he would admit to any such behavior.
She hadn’t given it much thought before, but now that she contemplated it carefully, she realized that she was gradually succumbing to the man’s increasing boldness, step by step.
Was she slowly being seduced by him?
“What are you thinking?” Jared handed her a cup of hot tea he had just bought.
“It’s still cold, and you have a sensitive stomach. I got you a warm drink.”
Julia snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the cup of tea resting against the back of her hand.
It felt warm and comforting.
Suddenly, Julia’s eyes welled up with tears. She took the tea and looked up at the man.
“Jared.”
“Yes?”
“You know, you’ve been so good to me, and if I ever-”
“Whoosh-” Fireworks lit up the night sky, casting a glow over everything.

Both Julia and Jared were captivated by the dazzling display.
A few moments later, Jared turned his gaze back to Julia.
“What were you about to say?”
Julia mouthed a few words, “Huh? What did I say just now? Huh? What’s going on-
Jared lowered his eyes briefly and replied, “If I can’t remember, then it’s not important.”
“Well, the fireworks are so beautiful. Let’s hop on the Ferris wheel and watch them together.” Julia was relieved that their conversation had been interrupted by the sudden fireworks.
Who knew what would have happened if she had confessed her feelings?
“Alright.” Jared didn’t press for further answers and followed Julia toward the Ferris wheel.
As the scene shifted, Shiloh occasionally glanced toward the entrance.
“I wonder how their date is going. At this hour, they probably won’t return. Perhaps they’ve decided to stay at a hotel.”
His brother might finally win Julia over if everything was progressing so smoothly.
Just as Shiloh was entertaining this thought, he heard footsteps approaching the door.
Were they back?
Shiloh furrowed his brow. Would his brother really let such a golden opportunity slip away by not making any moves with Julia?
Soon, the door opened from outside.
“Brother. You-”
As Shiloh began to speak, he was shocked to see Jared entering, dressed in a bright yellow outfit that made him look much
younger.
Shiloh’s phone slipped from his hand and clattered to the ground. He stared at Jared in utter disbelief and astonishment.
If Jared’s face hadn’t been the same, Shiloh would have wondered if this man was really his brother.
“Brother, brother? You, you, you-”
Shiloh struggled to form a coherent sentence as he kept repeating the word “you.”
Jared’s expression remained tense as he changed into slippers without uttering a word.
Julia offered Shiloh a reassuring smile and said, “How about it? Does your brother look good? Does he seem younger than you?”
Shiloh approached Jared in two strides and fixed him with wide–eyed incredulity.
Then, he was met with Jared’s piercing gaze, which carried a hint of danger.
