Chapter 260: Julia Called Jared to Vent her Anger
“Tsk, tsk, tsk –” Shiloh clicked his tongue, taking two steps backward while doing so, and then shifted his gaze to Julia.
There was no doubt that this had to be Julia’s handiwork.
But he hadn’t anticipated that his brother would allow Julia to transform him like this. It was quite a sight to behold.
In Shiloh’s memory, his brother had never been fond of wearing such flashy attire, not even as a child.
He vaguely recalled a time during Chinese New Year when their mother had bought him and his brother bright red down jackets, intending to add festive spirit to the occasion.
To everyone’s surprise, his brother had vehemently refused to wear it, no matter how much coaxing or persuasion they tried.
Back then, his brother had been a mere ten years old and couldn’t stomach the idea of wearing colorful clothes.
At thirty, he still seemed averse to anything other than his usual attire.
And this current look, oh my goodness! Shiloh could bet that if their mother were to see him like this, she would never believe it was her own son.
Reflecting on all of this, Shiloh couldn’t help but feel a twinge of melancholy.
If, in the end, Julia still didn’t reciprocate his brother’s feelings and decided to leave, considering his brother’s deep affection for her, he shuddered to think about the potential consequences. The same applied to Julia. What was up with her brother? Why hadn’t he fallen for Julia yet? Could it be that Julia still had lingering feelings for that scoundrel Carter?
However, as soon as this thought crossed Shiloh’s mind, he dismissed it. Given the recent conflict. between Julia and Carter and Julia’s clear stance against him, it was highly unlikely that there were any unresolved feelings between them.
“Maybe Julia’s heart was broken by her past relationship, so she’s hesitant to start a new one?”
That made sense, Shiloh thought as he shared his analysis with Jared the next morning.
Upon hearing this, Jared considered it a valid point. As a result, he took a more gentle approach, constantly inquiring about Julia’s feelings and doing his best to make her happy.
Half a month later, Julia headed out alone, planning to purchase some prenatal supplements. She also needed to buy dog food and other items for Honey. With the New Year approaching, she felt it was time to show her appreciation to Randel for taking care of Honey during the holidays. Julia strolled along and spotted a men’s clothing store. Recalling the clothes she had purchased for Jared previously, which he hadn’t worn since she decided to check out a few more outfits.
She knew that such a style might not be to Jared’s liking, but even so, he hadn’t discarded the clothing she had bought him. Although she hadn’t asked, she suspected that it was because she had purchased it for him.
It was just a matter of clothing, after all.
Today, she would buy him a few more pieces.
Upon entering the store, Julia unexpectedly encountered Vivien and Candace, who were in the midst of selecting clothes.
Julia Called Jared to Vent her Anger
It seemed that the old adage held true – enemies truly did cross paths. In a city as vast as S, the chances of running into them at any store were surprisingly high.
“Julia? What brings you here? Can a penniless person like you afford clothes from this place?” Candace’s words dripped with disdain.
Candace’s store?
Julia glanced at the store’s logo on the door. No wonder the store seemed familiar when she had walked in earlier.
It turned out to be a brand under the Ross Corporation.
“Why are you still standing there? Don’t touch the clothes here. If you damage or dirty them, you won’t be able to afford the bill!” Candace’s voice was loud and deliberately directed at the shopping assistant and other customers in the store.
Julia didn’t need to glance at the other people specifically; she could feel the strange looks they were casting her way.
“Haha” Julia let out a light chuckle. “Candace, how do you know I can’t afford these clothes?” “Do you really have the means to buy these clothes? You’re no longer an affluent lady. Can you even afford them?” Candace mocked. “Don’t think I’m unaware. You’ve come here just to browse and try on my high–quality clothes.”
Julia’s eyes shifted, landing on Vivien.
“Vivien, are you partying to this? Didn’t you want to tell her that my brother is now the head of J&C Limited? Are you trying to see her embarrass herself on purpose?”
“What? Does your brother run J&C Limited? Who are you trying to fool? Why didn’t you mention. that you’re married to the wealthiest man in Monroe City?” Candace dismissed Julia’s words without a second thought.
Julia wasn’t married to the richest man in Monroe City anymore.
“You don’t believe me? You can ask Vivien.”
Seeing Julia speak so confidently, Candace muttered to herself before turning to Vivien.
“Sister–in–law, is what she said true?”
Vivien shared with Candace what had transpired at the bridal shop earlier. “Your brother and I were at the bridal shop, trying on wedding dresses and taking photos. It just so happened that Julia was there. The bridal shop belongs to J&C Limited, and the store manager said Julia is their boss’s sister.”
“Could it be that Julia pulled some strings with the store manager and asked them to say that?” Candace speculated.
“Carter and I thought of that afterward, but it’s only a guess. Perhaps Julia and her brother genuinely had some luck and received support from benefactors who invested heavily in their business, allowing them to establish J&C Limited,” Vivien said, deliberately making her explanation sound somewhat mystical and uncertain to bait Candace.
“Hahaha!” Candace sneered mockingly. “Support from benefactors? How many benefactors do they think they have? Why would these two siblings receive such substantial investments? Besides, don’t think I’m unaware of anything. The real reason behind J&C Limited’s success is the endorsement of the Miracle Doctor. Julia and her gang have connections with the Miracle Doctor, our empire’s number–one miracle worker. What makes them think they’re worthy of such a
person? I believe Julia bribed the store manager to say that deliberately.”
Candace was resolute in her belief, crossing her arms and aggressively addressing Julia. “Get out of here. This is my store, and you’re not welcome.”
As before, Candace raised her voice deliberately, aiming to embarrass Julia publicly.
Vivien stood by, wearing a gloating smile. She had suffered many losses at Julia’s hands lately and had always been on the receiving end of misfortune. Now, it seemed that it was Julia’s turn to face embarrassment.
Julia’s ears were filled with the accusing and mocking words of the people around her, none of which were pleasant to hear.
It suddenly occurred to her that Brooks owned this shopping mall, didn’t it?
With this in mind, Julia took out her phone and made a call to Jared. “Is this Shopping Mall on Larsen Road, in the pedestrian street, part of your company?”
