Chapter 246: Julia and Jared go to the swimming pool
“What are you doing?” Maddie hissed. “Get out! I need to take a nap. I don’t have time to play with you!” She yelled, pushing Henry out of the room, but he wouldn’t budge.
“Come on, raise your voice even higher so Conrad and Julia can hear it,” Henry dared.
Maddie froze and felt conflicted. In that brief moment, Henry took advantage of the opening and slipped inside, forcefully slamming the door shut as if he were worried no one would hear.
Julia and Conrad, having briefly shifted their attention upstairs, merely exchanged a knowing look and then went about their own business.
Maddie found herself pinned against the door by Henry, unable to escape his encircling
presence.
Henry relished seeing Maddie in this state of helplessness and frustration. He couldn’t resist teasing her whenever the opportunity arose.
“What do you want?” Maddie asked, trying to break free from his hold.
Henry grinned mischievously. “What else? I’ve come to ‘eat‘ you,” he said, lowering his gaze to her belly, which had grown a bit more. “Seems like when women are pregnant, they get a second ‘blossom. Not bad, Maddie. Keep it up, and I might like you even more.”
Maddie was absolutely furious! Her anger had reached a boiling point, and she felt like she could. throttle someone.
“You creep!” Maddie’s hand shot up, aiming to give Henry a good slap.
Henry effortlessly caught Maddie’s hand, seemingly in high spirits.
“Want me to release you? Well, there’s a condition,” he proposed.
“What kind of condition?” Maddie inquired.
“When we were at the dinner table, you called Conrad affectionately. If you call me Honey once, I’ll let you go.”
‘What?‘
Maddie couldn’t believe her ears, and her eyes widened in disbelief. This man was serious about wanting her to call him affectionately.
“Just say it already. If you don’t, I won’t just let you go; I might devour you entirely,” Henry playfully threatened, his eyes wandering up and down Maddie’s body in a way that made her uncomfortable. It felt as though she was standing there completely exposed. Plus, knowing Henry, if she refused, he might actually carry out his threat.
Before that could happen, she needed to stand her ground.
“I’m pregnant. Don’t do anything stupid!” Maddie warned.
Henry glanced at her slightly rounded belly and remarked, “No worries. I checked. You can indulge after three months. Just don’t go overboard.”
Maddie cursed Henry silently. ‘This shameless bastard!‘”
“Make up your mind quickly. My patience is wearing thin. I’ll count to three,” Henry said with a grin.
Maddie was torn. What should she do now?
“Three. Time’s up.”

“Huh?” Maddie looked at Henry in bewilderment.
What does he mean three? Where did one and two go?”
Before Maddie could even voice out her sarcastic thought, her lips were sealed by Henry. His movements were lightning–fast that she couldn’t react in time.
Just as they shared a passionate kiss, Maddie sensed something was off.
She cracked her eyes open slightly and glanced down at herself.
‘Oh my goodness! Was this guy part–dog? His hands moved damn fast!”
No wonder she suddenly felt cooler. It turned out she only had one piece of clothing left.
“Don’t-” Maddie managed to utter the word, her strength waning.
Henry restrained his fervor and stared at Maddie with eyes that devoured her.
“Are you going to say it or not? This is your final chance. If I start counting to three again, you won’t make it off this bus,” he warned.
“You… you-
Maddie was so furious that speaking was a challenge. Then she saw Henry about to say three.
Frustration pushed Maddie to almost reflexively call out, “Honey…”
Her voice was barely audible, even to herself.
Henry raised an eyebrow triumphantly, lowering his head to observe Maddie’s flushed face. He couldn’t help but enjoy teasing her.
“What? Your voice was too soft. I couldn’t hear it,” he teased.
Driven out of patience, Maddie stomped on Henry’s foot.
Henry saw it coming but didn’t budge, deliberately letting Maddie step on him.
“Ouch,” Henry mumbled.
Maddie paused, puzzled. She noticed Henry didn’t dodge it on purpose.
‘Why hadn’t he dodged it?‘
As Maddie wondered, Henry, sporting a sly grin, explained, “The floor’s pretty hard. You should be careful when I’m not around. What if you accidentally bump into something?”
So, he let her step on him for that reason? Highly suspicious.
However, the thought softened Maddie’s heart a bit, and she felt a strange surge of emotion.
“Okay, okay, I’ll call you what you want,” Maddie conceded, rolling her eyes.
“Hurry up and call me, or else I’ll devour you completely, leaving nothing behind,” Henry teased with a mischievous tone.
“Honey! Honey! Honey!” Maddie exclaimed, raising her voice as high as she could.
“Is that loud enough for you? Are you satisfied now?” Maddie was on the verge of tears.
Henry nodded with a sly grin. “Oh yeah, I’m satisfied. Very satisfied. And guess what? I’ve got a reward planned.”
“What? Rew-”
Henry’s actions spoke louder than her words and drowned whatever Maddie wanted to say. Ten minutes later, Maddie ended up on the bed, a little breathless,

“No! My belly! The babies are still in there watching. Don’t you feel embarrassed?” she exclaimed.
“It’s alright. I checked. The fetus only opens its eyes after six months. They’re still closed and can’t see a thing,” Henry reassured her.
Maddie sighed in exasperation.
Meanwhile, in the courtyard, Julia was digesting her meal. She glanced up at Maddie’s room upstairs, where the curtains were tightly drawn. It was a situation where everyone knew they were re–enacting an intimate movie together.
Julia subconsciously touched her own stomach. She was only one month along, so there were no signs yet. In three months, there would be a small bump, and by then, she could still tell Jared that she had gained some weight from indulging in food. But she’d seriously question his intelligence if it reached four to five months with her using the same excuse, and Jared still believed her.
“This is giving me a headache!”
Originally, Julia had agreed to a one–year contract with Jared. Now, she was having doubts about
what to do.
Suddenly, a Messenger notification chime interrupted her thoughts.
It was a chat from Jared with a picture attached.
Curious, Julia opened the message and was instantly floored.
The picture showed a man standing by the edge of a swimming pool, wearing swim trunks that
left nothing to the imagination, accentuating his chiseled physique.
Julia blushed and felt her heart race as she looked at the image. Just then, another message from Jared popped up.
“I’m at the swimming pool right now. I’ve reserved it. Are you coming?”
“Sure!” Julia quickly replied, not overthinking about it. She realized that she hadn’t been
swimming in a while, and it would be a good exercise for her during pregnancy.
Julia genuinely hadn’t put much thought into it; she just wanted to enjoy a swim. However, when she arrived at the swimming pool, she was immediately taken aback and inexplicably captivated by a certain man!
