Chapter 229: Eyes Are Very Honest
Julia’s attention was instinctively drawn to the man’s exposed chest. His chest muscles were impressively defined, and his eight–pack abs seemed flawless.
“This guy is definitely trying to seduce me. Huh! Does he think I’m so easily swayed?‘ Julia remarked inwardly, a touch of defiance in her thoughts.
She initially resolved to avoid looking, asserting her control over the situation. However, as time passed, Julia found herself in an internal struggle. Her body betrayed her resolve, and her eyes remained fixated on Jared’s well–sculpted chest.
“Hmm?” A low, magnetic moan escaped from Jared’s lips, a sound that seemed to weave a seductive spell, resonating with pleasure. It snapped Julia out of her momentary daze, a reminder of what she had intended to address.
Gulping a mouthful of saliva, she found her voice again and retorted, “We’re currently in a contractual marriage, limited to one year, and we’re not truly husband and wife. We aren’t even boyfriends and girlfriends. Yet, you keep kissing me and taking advantage of me. Don’t you think it’s inappropriate?”
With his deep, dark eyes, Jared continued to gaze intently at Julia. After a long silence, he lightly parted his lips and said, “Fine, from now on, you can return everything I’ve done to you.”
Julia’s attention wandered, her gaze involuntarily tracing the contours of the man’s handsome face, lingering down his strong jawline and slipping further to his masculine, captivating throat. Before her eye ventured any lower and risked exploring territories she might later regret, Julia snapped herself out of the trance, sighing softly as she touched her forehead. ‘Return everything? Wouldn’t that be essentially the same?‘ She mused, somewhat bemused by the conversation.
“Besides that, what else?” Julia asked.
“Nothing,” Jared responded succinctly, leaving Julia at a loss for words.
Without any reason to prolong the topic, Jared exited the room. It wasn’t long before Maddie stealthily entered and fixed Julia with an enigmatic smirk, sending a shiver down her spine. “Honestly, did. you two do ‘that‘ last night?” Maddie asked, her tone laced with mischief.
Julia glanced at Maddie in silence for a moment before looking at her own stomach. “Do you it’s possible? Do you think I’m you, with no self–control?”
Maddie was left momentarily speechless, struggling to find a suitable retort.
“I’m talking to you. What’s it got to do with me?” Maddie countered.
“Yeah? It’s none of your business because all you think about is Henry,” Julia remarked.
Julia and Maddie continued their light–hearted exchange, the tension eased by their shared humor.

way, there’s an event tonight. A few of our friends are getting together. Want to join us?” Maddie proposed.
“Sure, that sounds like a good way to relax,” Julia answered.
That evening, Julia drove with Maddie to the entertainment club for the gathering. As they entered, their eyes were immediately drawn to a familiar figure passing by.
“Hey, Julia, do you see who that is?” Maddie asked, tugging on Julia’s shoulder to catch her
attention.
Julia followed Maddie’s gaze and was greeted with the sight of a fat man embracing a woman at a

private booth. His chubby hands shamelessly ventured beneath the woman’s clothing, groping without restraint. The woman nestled in his arms, acting coquettish.
“What about her?” Julia asked.
The woman in question turned out to be none other than Conrad’s former fiancée, Karla Gray.
In the past, when Karla was with Conrad, she hadn’t stood out as exceptionally attractive. However, her sweet face had earned her the reputation of being a pure and gentle girl in their school. But after ending her engagement with Conrad, Karla became entangled with the perverted
Paul.
She initially believed she had secured herself a wealthy partner, only to discover that Jared would ultimately take Paul down. What surprised her even more was that Karla had fallen to this point, becoming an entertainer in a club.
“Come on, sweetheart, give me a kiss,” the fat man urged, his actions and demeanor quite repulsive as he puckered his lips in anticipation before planting an enormous smooch on Karla’s
mouth.
Visually, it seemed as though the fat man had nearly swallowed Karla’s entire face.
“Ugh… that’s disgusting,” Maddie couldn’t help but comment, her body covered in goosebumps as though she could shake off the discomfort.
Julia wholeheartedly agreed, her eyes averted from the unsettling scene.
The main issue was that the fat man bore a striking resemblance to a gorilla, a comparison only exacerbated by his enormously distended belly, which appeared even more exaggerated than that of a woman in her ninth month of pregnancy.
Adding to the repulsion was the man’s receding hairline, with a few pitiful strands combed over to conceal the glaring bald spot. His face seemed to ooze with an unhealthy sheen, quite literally dripping with grease.
Engrossed in her current companion’s attention, Karla suddenly turned her head and locked eyes with Julia and Maddie.
‘Is it them?! She exclaimed inwardly, recognizing the two unexpected guests with a mixture of shock and embarrassment.
Karla was consumed by a mixture of embarrassment, frustration, and anger as she thought about what had just transpired and Maddie’s earlier comments. Right now, she wished there was a crack in the ground she could crawl into.
Emotions swirled within Karla, especially when she looked at Julia, whose gaze was filled with undisguised hatred.
‘It’s all her fault! If it weren’t for her, Conrad wouldn’t have been so adamant about not reconciling with me. If only we had gotten back together, I wouldn’t have resorted to selling my soul and body to Paul, Karla retorted inwardly. She didn’t even know how Paul had become involved with the North family, the wealthiest family in Monroe City, and how he had ended up in such a miserable state. As a result, she lost her powerful support and eventually found herself working as an entertainer at the club.
“Come on, now it’s your turn to kiss me, but make it bigger and more passionate. I love it hot,” the fat man urged with an extremely lecherous look, addressing Karla.
Due to Julia and Maddie’s presence, Karla hesitated for a moment.
“What’s the matter? Not happy?” The partly man handed another fifty dollars to Karla and then

Karla gritted her teeth and endured the pain, forcing a strained smile onto her face. “Why would I be unhappy?”
Karla was afraid of offending her sugar daddy, whom she had finally managed to latch onto. Even though Julia and Maddie were still watching, she had to put on a brave face. She leaned in and kissed the fat man, getting her mouth covered in grease.
“Ugh… I can’t take it anymore. I really can’t. This is making it hard for me to eat dinner,” Maddie gagged.
“Julia, let’s go quickly. If we keep watching this, we’ll have nightmares,” she added, pulling Julia
away.
After a while, Maddie and Julia retreated to the restroom.
“I can’t believe Karla has turned into this. I remember that I didn’t particularly like her before. I thought she was quite forceful, but she wasn’t my girlfriend, so I couldn’t care less. Looking at it, thank goodness she voluntarily broke up with your brother after you and your brother were kicked out of the Watson family. Otherwise, with someone like Karla, if she had married into your family, she would definitely have made your brother wear a cuckold’s hat in the future. Conrad is such a great person! He’s gentle, has an excellent temperament, good looks, and talent. He deserves the best girl. Karla… tsk tsk tsk. Let’s just forget about it.”
As Maddie spoke, her hand was suddenly pushed away by another hand that reached out abruptly.
