Chapter 222: Oh no! Was Found
Before she could scream, a hand covered her mouth. Julia‘ s eyes widened, not daring to move but keeping her ears attentive. “Don’t move-” Jared said with a raised hand. All the bodyguards were suddenly motionless.
At that point, only the loud ticking of the clock could be heard. Julia’s breathing ragged, and the same thing goes for Randel. A full minute passed. Jared stood up, looked around the living room, and finally looked towards the sofa.
“Is there anything under the sofa?” Joseph couldn’t help asking.
Jared continued to stare under the sofa, and Joseph motioned two of their men to move. “Check
it.”
Julia’s heart pounded wildly, and although Randel was nervous, he knew there was nothing they could do, so he just remained still. A loud squawk sounded as the men moved the sofa, but there was no one there.
Julia breathed a sigh of relief because the secret compartment didn’t get compromised. “Hm… There’s no one. What happened just now, though?” Joseph asked curiously.
“Maybe I heard it wrong,” Jared said and looked away.
“What should we do then? We searched the entire villa and didn’t find anyone. Must‘ ve escaped through the window,” Joseph stated.
“Just… Keep searching,” Jared defeatedly heaved and walked away.
“Alright, you all heard him. Move!” Joseph said, and everyone dispersed from the room. A little while later, the lights went out, the door was closed, and the living room was engulfed by darkness. Slowly but surely, Julia and Randel came out from under the secret compartment.
“Who are you?” Randel asked Julia.
“This is not the place to get to know each other. Let’s get out of here first,” she said.
Randel shrugged. She had a point. And so, the two escaped through the window, and Julia made sure to cover her tummy vigilantly. Jared was at a loss. She seemed so careful right now, but earlier, she was as reckless as a fireman.
Amidst his thoughts, Julia’s foot slipped from the window sill, almost making her screech. Thankfully, Randel was there to catch her.
“Oh my gosh…” She wavered, looking at Randel’s eyes with disbelief written all over her face. “Sorry… My legs got weak from all the hiding.”
Randel didn’t say anything and looked at the jade statue with her. “Where did you get that?” Julia pursed her lips, hesitating to answer at first but eventually asking, “Show me your face, and 1 will tell you.”
The more Julia looked at him, the more she felt that he was undeniably familiar.
Randel squinted his eyes and stared at Julia’s face, “Okay, but show me your face too.”
“That’s not possible.” Julia refused, adding, “We‘ re exchanging one information each, so why are you adding another condition? It’s not fair.”
“Alright, then add another condition…” Randel suggested, bravely so.
Julia stared at the eyes of the covered man. She couldn’t help it and asked, “Fine… Tell me, who

are you then? Or… Are you Juno?”
A tense aura filled the air, and the cold breeze suddenly whispered. The two remained wordless until a couple of footsteps approached their spot. The two looked in the same direction at the
same time.
‘We’ve been tricked!‘ the two thought in unison. Obviously, Jared only pretended to get away from the room to lure them out.
“Shit… I can’t let him catch me, but it’s too late!” Julia cursed, her teeth gritting.
Just when Julia was burning with anxiety, Randel’s voice suddenly rang in her ears. “You go first. I’ll watch your back!” Even Randel himself was surprised that he was willing to help her. Perhaps. the jade statue guilts him through it. Still, he couldn’t stop himself because something inside him screamed that this woman was an ally. “Thank you,” Julia thanked him and left quickly.
Meanwhile, Jared burst inside the room, yelling, “Catch that person!”
“Yes!” The two bodyguards chased after her.
Julia ran away as fast as she could, Randel following her closely from behind. With that, the two disappeared into the woods. However, the bodyguards were closing in, so Randel was left with no choice. He stopped and let Julia run away. In the end, the bodyguards surrounded him, and although he was captured, he was relieved that Julia was able to escape.
Randel calmly looked at Jared, who was approaching him with heavy strides as he crushed the leaves beneath him.
“Who are you?” The man asked, his God–like aura emanating.
With that, Randel removed his mask and revealed his disgusted expression.
“It’s you…” Jared narrowed his dark eyes. He remembered this man from Julia’s story, and he also recalled that he had seen him with her once.
“Yes. It’s me. Long time no see,” Randel straightened his body and said that with a smug look on his face.
Admittedly, he was adding fuel to the fire, and Jared didn’t like that. “Juno, right?”
“That’s right,” the man admitted shamelessly. He thought there was no point in hiding it anymore. Besides, it’s not like Jared didn’t have any idea. As a matter of fact, Jared had a feeling, and this scene was nothing more but a confirmation. “When did you come back?”
“Not long ago,” Randel whispered.
“Who was after you back then? I made sure to keep an eye on you, but I had no idea,” Jared asked straightforwardly.
“Tough luck. I have no idea either,” the latter shared, and it was too bad that he was telling the truth. Just then, Randel‘ s eyes darkened, and his hatred surfaced. He looked at Jared with a monstrous gaze. “I have been investigating all these years to avenge her family… To avenge… Juju!”
With that, Jared was once again reminded of the love he had for Julia.
