Chapter 216: Julia’s Pregnancy Was Revealed
“Julia, you’re definitely keeping something from me!” Maddie’s accusation cut through the air, her
locked onto Julia’s lower abdomen as if she could inside.

Julia hesitated, her embarrassment evident. She blinked and said, “What if I told you I got it for you?”
Maddie’s grin matched Julia’s mischievousness. She blinked and retorted, “And what if I told that the child in my belly isn’t Henry’s? Would you believe that?”

Julia was left speechless.
Maddie continued, pinching her waist and fixing Julia with a determined look. “Julia, why don’t you just come clean? At this point, if you keep hiding it, you won’t treat me like family.” Julia sighed, realizing it was time to come clean. “Alright… I am..”
“Yeah, I really hit the jackpot, Julia. You’re more than just a sister to me; you’re closer than my biological one. Being pregnant with me is fantastic; I won’t ever be lonely,” Maddie gushed happily.
Julia was indeed pregnant, and Maddie couldn’t have been happier. Her gaze fell upon Julia’s belly once more, and she asked, “Is it a boy or a girl?” Her question was purely out of curiosity, as to Maddie, boys, and girls were equally cherished.
“It’s a boy,” Julia replied, placing her hand gently on her lower abdomen.
Maddie’s face lit up with joy. “Oh, that’s wonderful! Now, we will have a matching set. We already have three girl dolls; we need more boys!” Just as Maddie mused about the perfect balance, Julia mustered the courage to reveal the complete truth.
“Well, actually, I forgot to tell you there were three of them earlier.”
Maddie’s expression went through a whirlwind of emotions in the span of a second. She exclaimed, “What?! Three?! You and me both have three?!”
Maddie hugged Julia excitedly, overflowing with love and gratitude. “Julia, I adore you so much! You knew I was lonely being pregnant with triplets, so you’re here with me. You even considered my worries about finding husbands for my daughters, so you conceived three boys. Wow, I’m beyond happy!”
Julia couldn’t help but be dumbfounded. Was there really a cause–and–effect relationship here? Her pregnancy and the arrival of triplets were all thanks to Jared’s efforts, but they had nothing to do with Maddie directly.
Upon arriving home, Julia was greeted by the sight of Henry and Jared engaged in conversation in the living room. Henry had brought a slew of baby supplies with him.
“Jared, can you give me some advice? What do you think about our unborn baby drinking this type of formula? And how about these diapers? I’m still contemplating how to decorate the baby’s room, and it’s driving me crazy,” Henry vented, his words growing increasingly frustrating. The more Henry spoke, the darker Jared’s expression became. Frankly, Jared was on the verge throwing Henry out.

“Hey,” Henry sighed, “I’m genuinely upset. I blame my own potency for causing three at once. What if, in the future, my wife gives birth to another set, and I end up with three more? It’ll be an even bigger headache-”

Jared abruptly stood up and pointed towards the door. “Get out.”
“Jared, please, you haven’t told me which brand of formula is better!” Henry pleaded.
While observing the situation, Joseph wondered if it was okay to leave this difficult task to Jared. Just then, Julia’s voice rang out, coming to the rescue. “The brand you have in your hand is the best.”
Joseph visibly sighed with relief upon hearing Julia’s advice.
After Jared laid eyes on Julia, all the frustration he had endured from Henry’s presence melted away. “You’re back?” he greeted her warmly.
“Yeah, I just returned from the prenatal check–up with Maddie,” Julia replied, her tone deliberate. Her intention was straightforward – teasing Jared to give Henry a taste of his own medicine. “What?” Henry, suddenly disinterested in baby supplies, inquired, “Why didn’t she tell me?” Julia responded, “I guess she didn’t want you to snatch the baby away from her.”
“I’ve told her already I won’t take the child away from her. The child belongs to both of us,” Henry replied, furrowing his brows.
“How did the prenatal check–up go?” Henry inquired, concerned about their babies‘ well–being.
Julia reassured him, “No issues; all the babies are healthy.”
Henry let out a relieved breath upon hearing Julia’s update. “That’s good, that’s good.”
However, Julia shifted the conversation intentionally. “But-”
Henry, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, tensed up again, his gaze fixed on Julia anxiously. “But what? Please, tell me quickly. You’re the type to leave things hanging like this.”
Julia couldn’t help but think, Isn’t that because you keep trying to impress Jared? However, she continued her story, “But on our way back, we ran into Vivien and Lilian. Vivien almost…” Julia recounted the encounter.
Henry’s face darkened with anger. “That woman is despicable!”
The last time Maddie was kidnapped and sent to Jordan’s bed, he hadn’t discovered who was responsible, and he had never been able to seek revenge for Maddie. Someone was bullying his wife, and Henry was seething with rage.
“I’m going to find that wicked woman now!” Henry stormed off angrily.
As Julia watched Henry leave, she contemplated Maddie’s situation. Although she had already settled the score with Vivien, she felt that she needed to inform Henry about it. Her venting her anger and Henry venting his anger were unrelated matters.
While Julia was lost in thought, Jared offered to take her bag from her. “It’s too heavy. Let me carry it for you.”
Julia suddenly remembered that there were prenatal supplements in her bag. Nervously, she tried to retrieve it, but, in her haste, the bag’s strap snapped, spilling its contents onto the floor – folic acid, calcium tablets for pregnant women, and more.
Jared studied the spilled items closely. After a brief silence, he looked up at Julia’s belly and began to say something, but Julia cut him off.
“Maddie couldn’t handle it anymore, so she asked me to fetch these for her. I completely forgot that they were still in my bag. I need to deliver them to her tomorrow.” Julia congratulated herself mentally for her quick thinking and adaptability.
Chapter 216. Julia’s Pregnancy Was Revealed
Jared furrowed his brow, reassured that it wasn’t what he had initially thought. In the end, her aunt had just left.
The scene transitioned swiftly, revealing Vivien standing just outside Carter’s study. She raised her hand and knocked gently on the door, her expression a mix of anticipation and concern.
“Carter, please open the door. I need to talk to you,” she pleaded.
Carter sighed deeply, replying, “We’ll talk later; I’m busy.”
Carter’s reluctance to engage in conversation with Vivien was palpable; his confusion weighed heavily on him. The words Julia had spoken lingered in his mind like a haunting melody.
In the past, Julia had shed tears and raised her voice, passionately explaining that Vivien was the root cause of all their problems. Now, she chastised him for his apparent blindness and lack of insight. Carter questioned himself, ‘Could he have been so wrong all along?‘
After a thoughtful pause, Carter reached for his mobile phone and tapped Julia’s contact information, hesitating briefly before finally deciding to make the call.
