Chapter 161: Jared Is Jealous Of His Younger Brother
“Maybe I’m too lazy to answer.” Julia threw the phone aside, ignoring the call.
Shiloh curled his lips and commented. “You don’t have to put on an act to show me. I think want to wait for me to leave, and then you can chat well with the other party.”

Julia could see that Shiloh just worried she would hurt his brother’s feelings. So, whether she answered the call today, let alone not respond, she didn’t hate Shiloh watching her. Unlike ordinary wealthy families, she envied the brotherhood between Shiloh and Jared, where brothers openly and secretly fight for property, even resorting to fratricide.
With a sigh, Julia replied, “Okay, I’ll take it.” Not only did Julia answer the phone, but she also turned on the speaker. In this way, Shiloh could hear what the call was about.
“It’s not necessary to make it in speaker mode. I don’t care about it,” Shiloh muttered in a low
voice.
Julia looked at Shiloh, not knowing what was inside his mind. Still, she has nothing to hide, so he lets him listen. As soon as the phone connected, Carter’s voice rang out.
“I heard you were injured. How are you? Is it serious?”
Hearing this, Shiloh looked nervously at Julia, fearing that he might see any signs of distress on her face. However, he heard Julia’s indifferent, distant, and detached voice when he glanced over. “For someone who shouldn’t be involved in my life anymore, you seem quite interested in what was happening to me. Is your life as the company’s president so idle that you make phone calls like this? Or do you want to make sure you add insult to the injury made?”
Hearing Julia’s words, Shiloh nodded in satisfaction. Her rude attitude pleased him. While Shiloh was satisfied, Carter’s face was clouded with anger.
“Julia, why are you always so hostile toward me? I’m only concerned about you!”
“Oh,” Julia drawled, leaning back comfortably on the sofa. “So, just because you’re concerned, I’m supposed to accept it? Is your kindness a charity that I should be grateful for? If you’re not kind, then is it my fault? Who do you think you are? I’m not obligated to hang around you, Carter. I’m not obligated to keep you updated on my life.”
Carter tightly pursed his lips, his face turning red and purple. “Why are you saying these things? I genuinely worry about. you. I—”
Julia interrupted Carter again before he could finish speaking. “Thank you, but no need. I have the right to reject your kindness. I don’t need it. Also, please don’t bother me in the future. Don’t call me again.”
She was about to turn the phone off when she remembered something else. So Julia added with so much emphasis, “You’re so annoying!”
After her words, Julia decisively hung up the phone. A ‘beep‘ sound followed.
Carter clenched his teeth, his face turning pale and then red. He ground his back molars, and his knuckles holding the phone turned white.
Shiloh happily picked up an orange from the table and handed it to Julia. He looked contented. with how KJulia handled Carter.
He said, “My brother knows you like this type of orange, so he has someone buy the freshest ones every day, waiting for you to eat them. You can have the freshest oranges.”
Seeing the unconcealed smile on Shiloh’s face, Julia slightly raised her eyebrows.

“If I hadn’t spoken like that just now and had a good attitude, making you feel satisfied, would still offer me the orange?” she asked knowingly.

As Julia finished talking, she saw Shiloh take away the plate of oranges. His attitude was apparent. If she hadn’t behaved well, Julia wouldn’t be able to enjoy the oranges. Somehow, she felt like the good pet of the Brooks family, but she still took the oranges.
Just as Julia was about to peel the oranges, she noticed a tear in Shiloh’s sleeve from the corner of her eye.
“Your sleeve is torn,” Julia said.
Shiloh raised his arm and looked at the torn part, a little larger than his little finger. He only shrugged his shoulders and said, “What a shame. Even though this shirt is from last year, I still like it. With such a long tear, it won’t look good even if sewn. I’ll have to throw it away.” Upon hearing Shiloh’s saddened tone, Julia loudly said, “Don’t throw it away!”
Shiloh looked at her weirdly, thinking, why would she say that? But before he could ask, Julia already gave him a soft smile.
“I can sew it up for you without leaving any trace,” Julia offered.
“You?” Shiloh looked at Julia with disbelief. “You know how to sew? You used to be part of the Watson family. Even if your father doesn’t acknowledge you anymore, I don’t think need to sew your clothes, right?”
you would
Shiloh didn’t believe that Julia could sew. After all, it’s the modern era. Even girls from ordinary families rarely know how to mend clothes, let alone Julia, the daughter of a mid–level wealthy family.
“The people who owned good clothes didn’t know how to sew, but I learned a lot while growing up in the Watson family. It’s a long story,” Julia explained a little, not wanting to say anything further. Shiloh looked at her. There was nothing wrong with giving Julia a chance. Either way, he would discard it anyway. So he said, “Okay. Then try it.”
“Then take off your shirt,” Julia quickly said, which shocked Shiloh.
“No! I’m not wearing anything underneath. If my brother comes back and sees me like this, he’ll beat me up,” he said in panic. He was a little shy to be topless around his brother’s wife, but knowing Jared’s temper, who knew if he would beat him up?
Julia rolled her eyes at him. “You’re not a woman; I’ve seen shirtless men before.”
“That doesn’t matter,” Shiloh said as he buttoned up the shirt. He added, “You’ve seen shirtless men, but I’ve never seen a shirtless man in person.”
Julia sighed inwardly. This guy seemed so petty. Why was he acting like he feared she’d devour him?
“Don’t worry, I don’t care if I see you shirtless. If I wanted to see a well–built man, I’d look at your brother. He’s probably in better shape than you,” Julia commented, trying to tell him that her were only for Jared’s body.
eyes
But that sounded like an insult to Shiloh. So he got annoyed as he retorted, “How do you know I’m not in better shape than my brother? Have you never seen me without a shirt?”
Julia forced herself not to smile at Shiloh’s innocence. Instead, she raised an eyebrow and said, “Then take it off and let me see.”
“Don’t play tricks on me! I’m not falling for that,” Shiloh said, acting clever.

Julia facepalmed. “Finé. Just extend your arm, and I’ll sew it like that.”
“Okay. I can do that. Sounds good.” Shiloh nodded, extending his arm.
Julia took a needle and thread and knotted it with ease. She began to mend the broken part. Shiloh observed how she sewed his sleeve, which looked complicated for someone like him. He even thought Julia was making things up.
“Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” he asked. But Julia only smirks at him, not answering. After a few minutes, he had a glance at the sewn part of his sleeve. Then he asked again, “Does it look decent?” Still, Julia had no response, but Shiloh finally believed she could sew.
Just then, Jared came home, and as soon as he entered the house, he saw Julia holding his brother’s hand. He wondered what they were up to.
However, the two were so close that their heads were almost touching, and if they looked at each other, their faces might even rub on each other.
They looked focused on something that Jared was an outsider. At that moment, he felt something, making his fist close tightly.
