Chapter 160: Those who bully Julia all end badly
Yasmin was being pushed into the police car by a police officer.
“Ah–it hurts!” Yasmin put her hands behind her back and pushed into the car, like arresting a gangster.
At that moment, Yasmin dressed brightly, resembling the noble princess she portrayed in the play. She had the same elegance, but now she was in disarray.
As
everyone watched the commotion, whispers spread among the film crew. None of the murmurs were pleasant, of course.
Vivien furrowed her brow as she gazed at the post about Yasmin being taken away by the police. car, feeling regretful. She then whispered, “Why couldn’t it have been Julia?”
“What’s that about Julia?” Carter asked as soon as he entered the room, hearing Vivien’s sudden remark.
Vivien wished she could take her words back when the realization hit her. She didn’t know why she had said those words.
“What’s wrong? What happened?” Carter had been discussing business earlier and was unaware of Yasmin’s arrest.
Even though Vivien was reluctant to repeat what she had said about Julia, she didn’t lie about what happened to Yasmin. She answered, “The police had arrested Yasmin.”
“What? Yasmin? How could she get arrested when she’s doing so well?” Carter said, skeptical. “Julia didn’t do it.” Vivien recounted the whole story.
Upon hearing the truth, Carter felt complex emotions and guilt.
Before this, he also believed Julia was responsible for the hit and run. He had judged her harshly, and now he realized he was mistaken.
Vivien looked at Carter, lost in thought, her grip tightening on her skirt. Vivien felt that no matter what, Carter couldn’t forget about Julia!
But what did it matter? They had already discussed it, and her future mother–in–law had even picked an auspicious wedding date for them. She still didn’t believe that anything could go wrong at the wedding.
Nothing would go wrong.
In the hospital, Jared’s gaze immediately fell upon Julia’s forehead. The blood on the wound had solidified and scabbed by now.
Nonetheless, the previous bloodstains were still striking, making Jared’s heart tremble upon seeing them.
“Does it hurt?” He asked worriedly.
“It’s not too bad, just a little swollen. It’s not affecting me much,” Julia replied.
The area where Julia had been struck was swollen to the size of a pigeon egg, turning shades of blue and purple. It was impossible to deny the pain unless it had become numb.
Julia couldn’t pay much attention to the injury on her forehead because Ethel was staring at her in
awe.
“The operation was a success. Your husband is fine now,” the doctor informed them.
Upon hearing this, Ethel burst into tears. “Thank you! Thank you!”
Amidst her tears, Ethel knelt in front of Julia, her voice a mix of gratitude and self–blame. Her emotions were tangled, resulting in incoherent words.
Julia turned her gaze toward Jared, puzzled. He pulled out his phone and showed it to her. Julia leaned forward to read what was on his phone. Then, she realized that Lincoln was the one who had uncovered the evidence.
Just as Julia pondered this, a call came in from Lincoln. Jared answered it and heard Lincoln’s voice.
“Boss, we’ve found something!”
With a small ‘hmm‘ from Jared, Julia looked at him and knew they had found something.
“I’m sorry it took me so long to find out. You’ve been through a lot of undeserved trouble.” Jared gazed at the wound on Julia’s forehead with a distressed expression. He almost reached out to her forehead but had second thoughts about doing so.
Was he apologizing to her? He was the one who had helped her, after all. At that moment, Julia felt an indescribable warmth in her heart.
“Thank you, Jared Brooks,” she said, staring at him with so much emotion that she didn’t even know.
Jared gripped Julia’s shoulder sincerely and affectionately. “You don’t have to be formal. Just Jared is fine.”
Being stared at by a man with eyes that seemed to hold the world, Julia’s heart skipped a beat. She suspected that he was intentionally trying to charm her.
As Julia speculated, Jared grasped her wrist. “Let’s go to that wound first.”
“Okay.”

Although the injury on her forehead wasn’t severe, it couldn’t be ignored.
On the other hand, Yasmin’s fans were gathered somewhere to discuss what had happened to their idol.
None of them expected that Yasmin was behind the video scandal,
and none believed it. “The video must be manipulated by Julia. Even if the video is real, it’s merely a coincidence. We’re loyal Yasmin fans. We’ve known her for so long! We understand her character. If we can’t believe in her, who can we believe in?” asked one of her fans at the gathering.
“You’re right! We should trust Yasmin unconditionally. Even though she’s been taken to the police station, the truth will come out.”
The fans felt secure knowing that the authorities would reveal the truth. They awaited the case’s conclusion.
Soon, the case was resolved. The hit–and–run culprit from the night before was indeed Yasmin! This news swiftly climbed to the top of the headlines, occupying the top spot.
Learning about the case’s result, Yasmin’s fans were devastated, with many canceling their support.
“Why did I ever support her? My moral compass has sunk so low.”
“Yasmin’s father is just as strange. To help his stepdaughter escape, he framed his own daughter. If I had such a father, I’d be heartbroken.”
Some fans are leaving; and some who participated in the wrongdoing looked at each other,

dumbfounded, unable to speak. Minutes passed by until a knock on the door broke the silence. “Food delivery?” asked the leader of the fan group.
One opened the door, only to be horrified upon seeing a police officer.
“It’s been reported that you assaulted someone this morning, which constitutes intentional injury. The evidence is strong. You’re all under arrest.”
As the police officer spoke, the fans‘ faces reddened with shame and regret. They had intended to vent their frustration on Yasmin. Still, their anger had been nothing compared to their animosity. toward Julia. In seeking vengeance, they committed a crime and unjustly blamed Yasmin. Their aim was to teach Julia a lesson in the name of justice. But in pursuing their star, they had unwittingly brought themselves to this point–the police station.
At that moment, they realized that their actions were wrong. Yasmin had done it and even joined their forces to frame Julia and Philip.
Regret was now pointless. While the world had a remedy for various things, there was no cure for guilt.
Joseph stood outside the police station, talking on the phone with Jared.
“Hey, boss, everything’s settled,” Joseph informed him.
“That’s great. You can release those people now.”
Joseph followed Jared’s orders and continued with his work.
That night, Yasmin’s fans publicly apologized for their assault on Julia, and their actions swiftly made headlines.
Meanwhile, Carter had also been keeping tabs on the case’s developments.
“Is she hurt?” he asked, and after a Julia’s number.

Julia turned to Shiloh. “How can you walk like a cat? So quiet.”
Shiloh smirked. “Isn’t it because someone thought it was Carter and didn’t pay attention?” Before Julia could respond, Shiloh’s tone grew more serious. “Julia, let me be clear. I appreciate that your healed

“So now you’re already calling him a scumbag. Do you expect me to fall into your arms, crying?” Julia said, exasperated.
“Can’t say for sure. Life is filled with situations straight out of TV dramas. Women still hold on even when they know the other person is a scumbag.”
Julia raised an eyebrow and nodded. “You’re unbelievable and silly.”
The phone continued to ring, and Shiloh glanced at Julia’s phone and said, “Aren’t you going to answer?”
