Chapter 145 Overbearing and Crazy Man
“Are you sure? I’ll really leave,” Julia asked hesitantly.
She spun around and pretended she was leaving. But when she glanced back at Jared, she realized he had no intention of stopping her at all. She sighed and leaned closer to the man.
“You misunderstood. He pinned me against the wall and tried kissing me, but I avoided him. I’m sorry if you have to see me in that situation, but nothing happened.”
In an effort to clear up the misunderstanding, Julia narrated everything to him as thoroughly as possible. But he didn’t respond and remained motionless like a statue.
As the rain poured heavily, the street lights flickered. The lights were dim, but it was enough for Julia to discern the loneliness in his eyes.
“You’re still unwell. Let’s get back first, okay? Once we’re in our room, I’ll tell you everything you want to know.”
Julia grew anxious at his silence, so she grabbed his hand. She almost flinched when she felt his icy–cold hands. She reached out to his forehead, and her eyes froze when she almost got burned at his scorching temperature.
“Shit! Let’s go, Jared, please. You’re burning again!” She grabbed his hand in an attempt to drag him back to the house.
Before she could drag him, he suddenly spoke. “You-”
“You can’t forget about him?” His voice was low and hoarse, laced with pain and sickness.
“How can I forget him?”
Their eyes locked for a moment before Julia looked away. On the other hand, Jared felt a knot in his heart, gripping it in pain.
“How could I forget a despicable person like him when he forced me to draw blood for his mistress all those years? I won’t ever forget what he did to me. Not in this life.”
Their gazes met again, and Jared stared intently at her, trying to determine if she was telling the truth. He could see the pain and fury in her eyes. And that was when he realized that she wasn’t lying.
He felt relieved. “I see,” Jared said, his voice deep and cold.
He still looked sulking, and Julia smiled at him, acting like a whiny baby. ‘How strange.‘
“Then, let’s head back now, okay?”
Now, Jared’s eyes were glued to her hands. His orbs kept narrowing with each second, still lost in his thoughts. ‘What is it now?‘ she asked herself, trying to read his mind.
“Can I really believe what you said?” he asked.
She looked at him, baffled and momentarily at a loss for words.
“Since there are no surveillance cameras, there’s no way for me to prove it.”
Jared pursed his lips, his dark gaze stuck to her eyes as if he was about to devour her whole.
“Of course, you can prove it,” the man asserted.
Julia scrunched her nose, eyes squinting. “What? How?”
Jared gently pressed her against the brick walls. Before Julia could comprehend what he was about to do, he grabbed her hands and pinned them on the wall above her head.

His hands were huge and strong that she couldn’t break free, even if she wanted to. Meanwhile, his other hand laced around her waist, ramming her body against his hard chest.
Her eyes and lips widened as she felt a jolt of electricity the moment their bodies touched. He suddenly leaned in and devoured her lips.
She closed her eyes as she responded back, letting him get the best of her with his intoxicating kiss. It felt good and crazy that she started to feel dizzy as their kiss went on despite the heavy tall pouring down on them, drenching them both.
And there was this warm soaking feeling in between her thighs as if the rain had already gotten to it. Or was it just her?
Her remaining sanity wanted her to stop responding to his kisses, or he would consume her completely. Her throat already felt sore and dry. She tried to free her hands from his grip, but her hands felt like metal chains that shackled her.
She tried to move her legs, but the man suddenly rubbed his thigh against her crotch. She let out a soft gasp, like a marionette being manipulated by him. He was in control, and why didn’t it seem to be a bad idea for her?
There wasn’t another way, so Julia bit his lower lip hard, immediately stopping him. With furrowed brows, he ran his tongue on his lip, licking off the blood. Julia felt a clenching between her groin at his actions, but she ignored it. ‘He’s sick, damn it!”
“Did you just reject me? Do you hate me that much?” His deep voice was laced with resentment.
“I don’t hate you. It’s just, I haven’t—”
“You haven’t fallen for me just yet.” He completed her sentence.
Julia couldn’t help but feel guilty at his heart–wrenching words as raindrops dripped down from his eyes. Or were those raindrops, not tears?
After all, she had originally approached him with ulterior motives. She didn’t anticipate he would actually fall for her. Within the past few days, he had been nothing but sincere to her. He spoiled her with his love and kindness without any pretenses. But despite everything, she couldn’t reciprocate his feelings.
Now, she didn’t know what to tell him. And because of her silence, Jared let go of her hand and removed the knee he stuck between her legs. Julia weakly leaned against the wall, unable to gather her strength because of their recent exchange of fervent kisses.
“Go,” Jared commanded her indifferently.
“What? Aren’t you going back with me?” Worry struck across her pretty face as she looked at him, sulking. “You have a fever, Mister! Let’s go back together.”
‘Oh, fuck! Julia was reminded of what Shiloh had told her. Jared shouldn’t have a fever. His past fevers were unmanageable. He would tremble all over and would be sick for days.
“Please, Jared. I beg you. Let’s go now. What if you
die?”
Instead of listening to her, Jared sat on the ground, hunching over his knees, and embraced himself. He was now extremely pale and quivering in the cold.
“Are you kidding me? Why are you acting like a child right now? Do you really want to die?” she shrieked in anger.
She was getting mad at the fact that something could happen to him. He seemed like he didn’t care for himself at all.

And then Jared’s breathing grew heavy and uneven. He now started to wheeze.
“What’s happening, Jared?”
Julia ran toward him and shook his arm. But he completely ignored her. She cupped his face and. looked at his weak eyes. He looked like he was about to faint.
“Jared, please….This isn’t funny.”
Her eyes now brimmed with tears as she looked at him.
“Jared. Do you hear me?”
His eyes lit up for a moment. But his eyes darkened once more after a few seconds until they shut close completely.
Julia had decided she would drag him back inside the house but failed when she started to drag
him.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake!” She started sobbing as she sat beside him.
“Jared, please…. I don’t want you to die, please….”
“What exactly do you want? Do you want to-”
In desperation, an idea flashed in her head. She once again cupped his cheeks before brushing her lips on his.
“Wake up. Let’s do it, Jared. I’m all yours to claim.”
