Chapter 143: Deliberately Teasing Julia
As the bathrobe fell to the ground, Jared’s chiseled chest was revealed. Instantly, Julia’s eyes widened, surprised to suddenly see his toned body before swiftly looking away. Her heart thumped hard as though it wanted to leap out of her chest.
Why was he so shameless to take off his clothes right in front of her?! If she hadn’t looked away quickly, her eyes might have caught a glimpse of something she shouldn’t have seen, even if just for an instant. Nevertheless, she still realized that Jared wasn’t wearing anything underneath the bathrobe.
This realization struck her like a lightning bolt. Blood rushed to her head, dyeing her cheeks red. Fortunately, the mist of the hot spring concealed her expression.
As Julia’s thoughts ran wild, a splashing sound echoed in her ears. Her body immediately froze, and a sense of panic swept through her.
‘Damn! He’s approaching me!‘ she inwardly cried.
Gnawing her lips, she nervously said, “W–what do you mean together?”
She hugged herself and didn’t turn her head, afraid to see him standing in the pool.
With Jared’s towering stature and good figure, if he stood in the pool naked, it would be
breathtaking. Just a mere thought of it made Julia’s breathing stagnate so that she didn’t dare to continue her imagination, afraid that she would get a nosebleed.
Looking at Julia’s back, Jared helplessly smiled and glanced at his body. He sat in the pool, and only the upper portion of his torso was visible.
‘Did she really think I was a pervert?‘ he thought.
Curling his lips in amusement, he drawled, “I told you, this pool is big enough to accommodate us both.”
Rolling her eyes, Julia deadpanned, “There’s a clear distinction between men and women, and it’s not good to share the same pool. Please leave now.”
Ignoring her, Jared playfully skimmed his fingers across the water’s surface, creating a gentle ripple that caressed Julia’s back.
Startled, Julia’s body became rigid. Her cheeks were beet red, resembling a ripe tomato. The sensation that spread through her nerves was akin to someone tenderly stroking her back, igniting a wave of embarrassment that was hard to put into words.
“Don’t worry. I’m not a pervert. I want to relax, but it’s quite lonely to be alone, so let’s chat, okay?” Jared said gently, hoping to ease Julia’s discomfort.
‘Is that true?‘ Julia frowned, still skeptical, and didn’t move nor answer him.
“Turn around,” a low, intoxicating voice sounded behind her, almost making her jump in surprise.
Biting her lip, Julia wondered whether this man was struggling to restrain his inner desires. Taking a deep breath, feigning interest in the landscape ahead, she quipped, “No. The scenery is great.”
Jared’s long eyebrows were slightly arched as he followed Julia’s line of sight. There were only flowers and grass around them. Although the view was pleasant, no matter how picturesque it might be, it couldn’t compare to what he looked like.
A full minute had passed in a silent standoff before Jared rose from his seat. The sound of his movement caused Julia’s pupils to widen abruptly. As she sensed his approach, her heart raced

erratically.
Julia contemplated how to evade him, but a sudden warmth emanated from behind her. At that moment, she didn’t need to turn around to understand that the man had enveloped her
completely. The feeling mirrored an invader capturing one’s city, a sensation of intrusion leaving her defenseless.
“Julia,” Jared’s deep and magnetic voice rang, and his thin lips brushed against her ear, making her body tingle.
“Y–you, w–what do you want to do?” Julia’s words stumbled out, and her nervousness was palpable. Upon sensing the girl’s unease, Jared’s thin lips curled into a satisfied smile. He stared at her shy profile; her cheeks were beet red, making her appear like a ripe tomato.
At that moment, he suddenly had the urge to bite her cheek. He gulped, and his Adam’s apple bobbed as he tried to resist the urge to press her down and lock her in his arms.
Drawing closer, he pressed his thin lips on her small, delicate earlobe, sending a shiver down her spine as he spoke, “Tell me, Julia. How can I make you completely mine?”
‘Become his woman?‘ She gasped, stunned by his words. Had he truly lost control? In her current state, she was defenseless, physically weaker than him. If he genuinely intended to conquer her, wouldn’t it be as easy as breaking through thin paper?
Just a
as Julia’s nervousness reached its peak, Jared’s hand approached her face. Instinctively, she pushed him away, then grabbed a nearby towel and hurriedly fled.
Caught off guard by her forceful push, Jared stumbled and fell into the water. When he emerged from the surface, he caught sight of her running away in a bath towel.
Instantly, laughter bubbled from him. He had only intended to help her move the hair stuck to her mouth a moment ago. He hadn’t anticipated her intense shyness.
Running, Julia grumbled to herself. ‘Why was he laughing? Was there anything amusing about me running away? Was he that happy in making me fluster?‘
She hastily ran to the bathroom and stared at her reflection. Her face resembled a cooked shrimp in its vibrant redness.
For a moment, she couldn’t believe that she could be this flustered. She was the top agent of the alliance, the lone wolf, with a flawless one hundred percent mission success rate! She had never been this embarrassed before, and this feeling was new to her.
Jared not only had an imposing aura but also went so far as to strip to entice her. It was really bewildering.
She patted her cheeks to calm herself and heaved a deep breath. At that moment, a knock suddenly sounded, startling her.
Frowning, she marveled, ‘Who could it be at this hour? Is it the hotel staff?‘
Swiftly pulling on a T–shirt and jeans, Julia moseyed to the door and opened it, only to see Carter outside.
“It’s you?” Julia scowled. It never crossed her mind it would be Carter. Squinting her eyes, she spat, “What are you doing here?”
Seeing Julia’s cold and indifferent expression, Carter snorted. Whenever she looked at him like that, he felt uncomfortable and suffocated. Somehow, he missed the old her, the gentle Julia who
followed him everywhere.

Ignoring her glare, he calmly said, “I want to have a word with you.”
“We have nothing to talk about,” she intoned impatiently and closed the door, but before she could do so, Carter blocked his hand on the doorway and held the knob.
“Alright. We can talk here if you want.” He smirked.
On hearing him, Julia’s heart suddenly skipped a beat, and she glanced at the room. Jared wasdit extremely jealous man, and she was sure he would hit the roof if he caught her with Carter. If that happened, it would be too late to regret it by then.
Gritting her teeth, she said, “Fine. I’ll change my shoes.”
She wore doll shoes, grabbed her phone, and followed Carter outside. As soon as they left, Jared arrived in their room.
When he entered and didn’t see Julia’s shadow, he wondered where she had gone to. He looked for her phone and realized it wasn’t there either.
“Did she go out?” he muttered and dialed Julia’s number.
After a few rings, the call was connected, and Jared immediately asked, “Where are you?”
At the other end of the line, Julia glanced at Carter before responding, “Well, it’s quite stuffy inside, so I went out for some fresh air.”
She bit her lips as she lied. Even though she didn’t want to, if Jared knew she was with Carter, he would definitely think something was going on between her and Carter.
“Tell me where you are. I’ll look for you.” Jared looked outside through the window, searching for Julia’s figure, but didn’t see her.
“Uhm, the weather is bad, and it’s drizzling. You haven’t completely recovered from your cold yet, and if you get soaked in the rain, and your fever comes back, that wouldn’t be too great,” Julia replied. Her voice sounded a little panicked.
Right after she spoke, Carter suddenly butted in.
“You don’t want him to disturb us, so you said that on purpose, right?” Carter deliberately shouted to make sure Jared heard him.
