Chapter 141: Julia Taught Vivien Again
Chapter 141: Julia Taught Vivien Again
Carter was accompanied by Vivien. But Julia chose to just focus her attention on Carter for now. “I want to tell you it’s only a coincidence. But will you believe me?” Julia asked Carter, lifting her eyebrows.
Carter’s frown became even more profound, showing he didn’t believe her.
Julia pouted and said, “If you don’t believe me, then you can ask for details about me being here Otherwise, there’s no point in talking.” After she said that, she stopped talking more and averten her gaze at him.
Carter felt really uncomfortable inside. He didn’t know why, but when he saw Julia’s strange behavior recently, he was annoyed by what she said, how she acted, and everything else she did However, he couldn’t or even wanted to stop talking with her. So he started a different topic. He asked, “Are you here alone?”
This time, Julia acted like she hadn’t heard him, taking out her mobile phone and scrolling through it leisurely.
This action annoyed Carter even more, and his expression darkened. He grabbed her and said, “Why do you treat me like nothing? Is it necessary for us to be like this? Are you still so fixated on the past? Those matters are behind us, aren’t they? Why do you insist on being so guarded?” Julia pulled her hand back and looked at Carter dangerously. Initially, Julia had intended to give Carter the silent treatment, but his words prompted an unbearable response.
Setting down her phone, her expressionless face suddenly smirked and retorted, “Over? It’s easy to say ‘it’s over‘ if you weren’t hurt by a knife. If you didn’t have any scars or felt an unbearable pain.” She let out a scowl and continued, “Imagine I slapped you right here in public, then smiled and said it’s done. If you showed negative feelings, it would show you’re not open–minded and still bothered.”
}
Carter couldn’t respond right away. How could he argue with that? After thinking for a bit, he couldn’t find the right words.
At that moment, Vivien started softly crying. “Carter, I’m sorry. This is all my fault. You wouldn’t be in this situation if it weren’t for me.” Tears rolled down Vivien’s cheeks as she said those words.
Seeing her cry pitifully made Julia feel sorry for her, and even Carter was upset seeing it.
Carter gently wiped Vivien’s tears and said, “You shouldn’t blame yourself. I know you genuinely care about me, and it’s okay to have feelings for someone.”
“Yes, it’s true that having feelings for someone isn’t wrong. But meddling in another person’s relationship is not right either. By that, you become a home wrecker,” Julia interjected.
With a heavy expression, Carter took a deep breath, turned, and glared at Julia. His eyes were angry and trying to send a warning, especially when he said, “Julia, have you said enough? Vivien is hurt. Don’t you have any sympathy?”
Julia put her hand in front of her chest, acting like she was stabbed in the heart. “What? Do you want me to sympathize with Vivien? Do you think I’m the Virgin Mary? Sorry, but I’m not. Besides, I’m perfectly sane. And by the way, your standards are skewed,” Julia shrugged nonchalantly.
Carter interpreted Julia’s playful demeanor as a slap in the face. He was left speechless.
That was when Vivien rose from her seat and approached Julia. She replied to Carter instead, “Julia, I know you despise me, but none of this is Carter’s fault. If you want to hate someone, hate

me!”
After saying that, Vivien turned away from Carter and looked directly at Julia, displaying a victorious stance. Then she held Carter’s hand as if she was his protector.
Vivien had been acting aggressively for most of these days. Today, Julia was feeling good and ready to be proactive.
So Julia looked at Vivien with a smile that had a hint of sarcasm. “You and her are quite similar Both pretend in a fake way. People like you don’t deserve my feelings. Not even my hatred, When you could only get from me was disrespect. You don’t deserve my respect,” Julia said with a clever remark.
As Julia said this, she had already taken two steps and stood beside Vivien. While passing by, she purposely bumped into Vivien’s shoulder and used the opportunity to quickly tap her waist and
stomach.
“Ouch!” Vivien held her stomach exaggeratedly.
“Vivien!” Carter hurriedly stepped forward, supporting Vivien from behind. “Are you okay?”
Vivien covered her stomach, frowned, and pursed her slightly pale lips. She put on an act, feigning a minor issue, and replied reluctantly, “I’m fine.”
Carter squeezed his hands really tight, making his knuckles stick out and make a cracking sound. His anger was building up inside him, and it was because of Julia.
He quickly turned his head toward Julia and shouted, “If you have a problem, talk to me directly. Vivien wasn’t feeling good, and if something bad happens to her, I’ll-”
Before Carter could finish what he was saying, he saw Jared walking hurriedly over and standing before Julia.
It was him! It was the guy in her life now. Julia and this man came here together. What were they doing in a place like this? Did they want to have a private moment in the hot spring? Carter thought and felt disgusted, imagining Julia doing nasty things with the man before him.
Jared touched Julia slightly on her back and asked, “What’s going on?”
But Julia chose not to answer Jared. Instead, she emerged behind Jared, who was trying to protect her. Then Julia retorted back, “I merely brushed against her, and you saw it for yourself. She grabbed her stomach as if she were in agony. Isn’t that an exaggeration? Who would be in worse shape if I were lying on the ground right now?”
Listening to Julia’s words, Carter recollected the recent incident. It did appear that Julia was accurate. While Julia intentionally brushed against Vivien, it wasn’t anything severe, yet Vivien couldn’t handle it.
Was Vivien indeed pretending, as Julia claimed? But Carter couldn’t confront Vivien because he wouldn’t want to have an argument with her or even hurt her in any way.
“Carter,” Vivien called out for him, but he was just staring blankly elsewhere.
“Carter, if I had known you were so superficial and had such poor judgment, I would’ve faked being sick and lifeless in front of you just like Vivien.” Julia shook her head and sighed.
Carter furrowed his brows, looked at Julia, then at Vivien, lost in thought.
“Ah! It hurts… Carter, my stomach…” Vivien clutched her abdomen tightly. Her face was ashen, and drops of sweat beaded on her forehead.
Carter diverted his attention to Vivien. Observing Vivien’s expression of intense pain, it didn’t
seem like she was pretending at all.
Julia was misleading him again. Vivien wasn’t as malevolent as Julia made her out to be. She hadn’t been pretending, and she was genuinely uncomfortable.
Julia leaned closer to Jared’s ear and whispered in a tone meant only for the two of them. “Hold your breath when the time comes.”
“Why?” Jared regarded Julia with suspicion.
Julia raised her eyebrow at Jared and blinked her eyes. Seeing the tricky look on the girl’stace, Jared guessed that someone would be in trouble. That someone was probably them. So Jared nodded once he got it, getting ready to take a deep breath.
“It hurts. My stomach hurts!” Vivien’s discomfort got worse. That made Carter panic more and suspicious of Julia.
Zet
“Julia, tell me the truth! Did you do something just now?!” Carter asked Julia, his eyes practically begging her to speak.
Julia’s assessing gaze landed on Vivien. She raised a hand to her chin and replied seriously, “From the way she looks–pale face, stomach cramps–it appears that she might’ve eaten something bad.”
“A stomach trouble?” A wry smile tugged at the corner of Carter’s mouth. “Do you really think I’ll believe that?”
Just when Carter was going to show his doubt, a loud sound came from Vivien’s lower back.
