Maddie gasped in surprise.When she raised her head, she saw Henry’s reflection in the mirror.
“Why did you follow me up?“Maddie asked, looking at Henry warily.
Henry’s hands rested casually in his pockets as he glanced at the restroom signage.With his brows shot upwards, he rhetorically asked, “What? Are you addicted to using the men’s restroom now? Planning to go in?”
Maddie’s realization dawned as Henry’s words settled in–she stood beside the men’s restroom sink. Suppressing her embarrassment, she gathered her composure and countered, “You’re the one addicted. I’m just washing my hands!Is there a rule that women can’t use this sink?”
Unbeknownst to the pair, Julia had trailed them.Upon arriving,she heard the bickering between the two, like elementary school kids.
Considering Henry’s status was just as high as Jared’s, she became curious. Anything going on in Henry’s life was worth knowing because it was a big deal. He was the eldest son of the prestigious Miles family,the sole inheritor of their company. Not to mention that the Xonix Film and Television Economic Company, a giant in the entertainment industry in Monroe City, was in his support.
In contrast, Maddie was just a child raised in an ordinary family.So,there should be no reason. for them to have any interaction.

Maddie’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment.“You think I wanted to?If I hadn’t been drugged,would I have thrown myself at you? I’m not blind!”
Continuously listening to the two’s conversation, Julia clicked her tongue in her mind, showing an unexpected expression on her face. She didn’t expect that the person Maddie had thrown herself that night would be Henry.
Henry squinted his eyes. “What do you mean? Are you saying I’m ugly?”
“That’s right, you’re ugly!“Maddie retorted, her hands on her waist.
Frowning, Henry advanced towards Maddie.

Henry’s imposing figure and towering presence caused her to involuntarily retreat.
She kept retreating until her back was against the wall. Abruptly, Henry’s hand extended, firmly pressing against the wall behind her.
Maddie stared at the man who had her cornered against the wall, her heart beating

Julia, who had been watching from the side, initially prepared to intervene when she saw Maddie being cornered against the wall. However, seeing Maddie’s slightly infatuated expression, she decided to remain a bystander.
“What’s the matter?Cat got your tongue now? Has my face captured you?Speaking of capture, you seemed to enjoy it quite a bit that night!“Henry playfully remarked, a smirk gracing hist lips as he fixed his gaze upon Maddie.
Maddie was indeed tempted by the man’s charm. But now, hearing his words,she felt a rush of embarrassment.
“You’re the one who enjoyed it!You’re the one who was captured!Recalling your moves, you’re like a worm sprinkled with salt.”
‘Did she just say I’m like a worm sprinkled with salt?‘Henry thought,disbelieving.
A mix of frustration and agitation pulsed through him, leading him to tighten his grip on Maddie’s chin.
“Is that so? Calling me’worm sprinkled with salt‘? Today, I’ll show you whether I’m merely a worm or a formidable beast!”
With resolve etched in his words, Henry inclined his head, his lips drawing closer to Maddie’s.
Instinctively, Maddie attempted to push Henry away,only to be met with a sudden pang of pain in her lower abdomen.She winced, her lips parting in a hiss of discomfort.Clutching her stomach,she gradually slid down the wall.
Witnessing this, Henry was momentarily paralyzed, his features locked in an incredulous expression. He eventually lowered his gaze,peering at Maddie,crouched on the ground.
“Don’t pretend…“Henry uttered, but was cut off by Julia’s shout.
“Maddie!“Julia rushed over,quickly helping Maddie up.
Dizziness clouded Maddie’s senses, her head feeling light as her complexion paled.
This time, Henry realized Maddie was not faking it.
“Don’t just stand there. Help support her. I’ll check her pulse,“Julia said, looking at Henry.
Observing Maddie’s unease, Henry set aside their earlier disagreement. He wrapped his arm around Maddie’s waist, allowing her to lean her upper body and head against him.
Although Maddie was conscious, her body felt weak and limp. So,even if she didn’t want to lean against Henry’s body, she had no strength to resist.
Julia quickly took Maddie’s pulse.

“How is she? Is she alright?“Henry asked, frowning.
“Just a slight discomfort. Probably due to the cold drink she had earlier, causing irritation to her stomach. Bring her back to the private room, and I’ll give her a massage there. She should be fine after that.”
After Henry nodded, he tightly embraced Maddie and guided her out of the restroom. Along the way, Maddie winced and grimaced due to the pain in her lower abdomen while clutching her clothes.Thankfully, even after witnessing her distress, Henry attributed it to a mere stomachache without suspecting anything more.
“As a refined and noble gentleman, I won’t dwell on our previous encounter,considering your discomfort,“he stated.
Maddie feigned a gag, finding his words repulsive.
Henry gazed at Maddie in silence and continued with his air of arrogance.“A true gentleman refrains from quarreling with a lady.”
To Maddie’s surprise, Henry bent down,scooped her up,and lifted her, holding her like a bride.Only her father had carried her in such a manner when she was a child. Now,as a grown woman, being carried like this,especially by a man other than her father,evoked a blend of emotions within Maddie.
She couldn’t discern which emotion to acknowledge and panicked, shouting,“Put me down!I can walk on my own!”
However, Henry paid no heed to Maddie’s words. Instead, he retorted, “If you want your stomach to ache even more,go ahead and struggle.”
In the midst of his sentence, Henry glanced at Maddie’s belly.
Noticing his glance, Maddie instinctively looked at her own belly too.
‘I can endure whatever happens to me.This stomachache is nothing. But I can’t bear the thought of my three babies being at risk. I won’t forgive myself if that happens,’ Maddie pondered.
With this resolve, Maddie fell silent. Seeing her cooperation, Henry focused his attention ahead. and cradled her in his arms.
Before long, he couldn’t resist sneaking another look at Maddie. It was only then that he realized the now–quiet Maddie possessed a certain cuteness. He also noted that while Maddie might not have Julia’s immediate breathtaking beauty, she exuded a lasting charm,particularly in her vibrant,ever–moving eyes.
Eventually,carrying Maddie, Henry arrived at the private room and entered,where Julia was already waiting.
As Henry placed Maddie on the couch, Julia lifted Maddie’s garments and began her
treatment.
“It might sting a bit, but bear with it for a moment. It’ll be over soon,“Julia warned Maddie,preparing her for discomfort.
“I’ll be alright.It’s just a minor ache. I’m not a pampered,wealthy girl.Go ahead!“Maddie responded resolutely.
Yet, not even ten seconds later,a cry of pain escaped her lips.“Ouch!Julia, please be gentle!It hurts so much. It’s unbearable!”
A tense expression crossed Henry’s face, and with each of Maddie’s cries, his heartstrings were
