Chapter 87 Is It Really Because You Can’t Let Go?
Chapter 87: Is It Really Because You Can’t Let Go?
Jason’s eyebrows twitched as he looked over at Mark. “Why are you asking me that kind of question?”
Mark was silent again, and for the first time in his life, he was confronted with something so passive that he didn’t know what to do.
The only reason he had asked Jason that question was that he wanted to find someone on his side who agreed with him as if that was the only way he could fool himself into thinking that he might still have a tiny, tiny chance with Mae.
“Mark.”
Jason suddenly called his name with a straight face, Mark looked at him and heard him say with a serious expression on his face:
“It should be your own decision whether to get divorced or not, but before that, you have to figure out what kind of feelings you have for Mae. Is it true that you can’t let go of her, or is it because you’re not used to your current situation…”
Jason paused for a moment before continuing, “Or you just can’t wipe that face because you think that divorcing Mae is an unacceptable and humiliating thing?”
Mark’s expression stagnated, and there was another moment of confusion in the depths of his eyes. For a while, he really couldn’t figure out why he had gone over the limit so many times in front of her, but he was still adamant that he refused to get a divorce.
Was it really because he can’t let go?
Or was it really, as Jason said, simply because he was not used to it?
“Wait until you’ve really thought this through before you decide to get divorced or not.”
Jason’s serious voice sounded again, but the next second, he smiled playfully. “But I think maybe it doesn’t matter if you can’t let go of Mae or not. It’s a fact that she is still going to divorce you.”
Triple kill!
If he could take out his heart and look at it, it would probably be full of holes by then.
And yet, this pain–inducing adviser in front of him didn’t even feel any discomfort. After pouring himself another glass of wine, he said:
“Speaking of which, Mae still owes me a drink. I’ll have to find her to pay me back some other time.”
Mark looked at him coldly, realizing that after this conversation, the irritation in his heart had not subsided, but rather tended to intensify.
He reached out and snatched the wine glass from Jason’s hand, his hoarse voice saying mercilessly, “You can get lost now.”
Jason’s face changed. “Are you still human? You’re driving me away after using me. You deserve the fact that Mae does not want you!”
Quadra Kill!
Mark didn’t say anything. He just continued to drink the mulled wine cup after cup. Jason saw this

and didn’t dare to provoke him anymore.
How would he feel comfortable enough to leave him when he was seeing how he continued to drink
like this?
The word “ugly” would no longer be enough to describe Mark’s face right now.
Three parts despondent, three parts sad, and three parts confused. No pie chart would be enough. to describe his emotions.
“Don’t drink anymore. You would be killing yourself with alcohol. Do you really want to die?”
Jason couldn’t help but advise him.
Mark just ignored him. The movement of the drink in his hand would not stop.
“How about… I let Mae come and pick you up?”
This time, Jason’s words succeeded in stopping Mark from drinking. Under the bottom of his originally dark eyes, a faint, undetectable light flashed through.
But soon that flash of light was covered and turned back into darkness.
He took a sip of wine and said in a quiet voice, “She will not come.”
Jason raised an eyebrow and couldn’t help but laugh inside.
Listening to his tone, he was afraid that he would be looking forward to his future ex–wife coming over, right?
Well, as one of his few younger friends, Jason decided to help him out.
“How do you know if you don’t try?”
He said and took Mark’s cell phone from the coffee table. “I’ll call Mae. What’s the password?”
Mark pursed his lips and was silent for a few seconds. He had a kind of confused and unnatural expression while looking at Jason. He wanted to roll his eyes a few times.
He wanted him to, but his mouth was still dishonest.
“990214,”
Finally, Jason could still hear this twisted straight man’s voice as he dully spat out this string of
numbers.
Jason’s finger lapsed and suddenly raised his eyes to look at him. Mark did not want to mention how much he was looking forward to him calling his future ex–wife.
But this… what was this string of numbers?
Obviously, it should be someone’s birthday.
If it was not Mark’s, then it was…
“You used Mae’s birthday as your password?”
Jason couldn’t help but ask. The corner of his mouth twitched twice slightly.
He thought that only those lovesick teenagers would use their sweetheart’s birthday as a password
He was still insisting to hide his feelings and could not admit that he really cared about Mae.

Mark was uncomfortable with Jason’s meaningful eyes, and his dark eyes flickered unnaturally twice as if to explain with a few moments of thought:
“Mae took my phone and changed it.”
“Is that so?”
Jason suddenly laughed.
Did Mark think he could be the president of the Delgato Clan if he was stupid enough to easily. believe his words?
Not to mention, even if Mae indeed changed it or not without his consent, how was she able to get his cell phone and change his password?
How could he use that password regularly and not changed it back?
It was obviously a lie full of loopholes, and he didn’t know how Mark, who was known as a business wizard, came up with it and was still able to tell it to him with such a straight face.
Once again Mark felt uncomfortable in Jason’s eyes. His eyebrows furrowed slightly, and a hint of emptiness couldn’t help but flash under his eyes.
Jason didn’t give it away either. He picked up his cell phone, found Mae’s cell phone number, and dialed it.
[Hello, the user you have dialed is on the line.]
Jason didn’t get through. “She’s on a call. Let’s wait.”
Mark didn’t have any extra expression on the surface and even said in a high and cold manner, “As you wish.”
Jason: “…”
If it wasn’t for the fact that he was being petty, he really would not care about this arrogant bastard!
What was the point of saving face when he’s obviously looking forward to death?
After two minutes, Jason called again.
[Hello, the user you have dialed is on the line.]
The same answer.
Mark’s eyes which originally overflowing with some subtle anticipation, steeply faded.
Jason didn’t know what to think, his eyebrows jumped up. “She didn’t block you, did she?”
Pentakill
Mark’s gaze flinched, unconsciously on the verge of retorting. “Impossible!”
She had even called his phone a few days ago, urging him to get a divorce.
He told himself that in his heart, obviously to comfort himself, but the words sounded extraordinarily
sarcastic.
Jason narrowed his eyes to look at him, his gaze carrying an unknown depth of meaning. He then silently took his cell phone out of his pocket and dialed it in front of Mark.
The phone went through, rang a few times, and she picked it up. “Hello?”

Jason: “…”
There was an eerie silence in the air.
Jason silently looked at Mark, whose face had gone completely dark and the muscles at the corners. of his mouth began to twitch uncontrollably.
If it wasn’t for the ugly expression on his face, Jason guaranteed that he would have laughed out loud at this very moment.
