Chapter 37: If a Real Fight Breaks Out, Mae Won’t Be the Opponent
Mr. Lee’s words directly made Mae burst into laughter. “Old man, your words sound very pleasing. I do need a safe haven, but the Lee family’s harbor is not a place where I can truly hide. I’m afraid that staying there for too long would capsize my boat.”
“You…”
“Old man, I’ll give you one last chance. If you continue spouting this nauseating nonsense, I won’t oblige.”
After saying that, she used her fingerprint to activate the security lock on the military officer’s gate, preparing to go inside, but she was blocked by the bodyguards.
“Miss, Mr. Lee’s words haven’t finished yet,” the bodyguard spoke up.
Mae glanced at the bodyguard’s arm, then looked up at the tall figure in front of her, who was a head. taller than herself. She suddenly asked, “Has the Lee family bought personal insurance for you?”
The bodyguard paused, not understanding why Mae was asking this, but still shook his head, “No.”
“How unfortunate. Then let me cover your medical expenses.”
Before the bodyguard could react, there was a sharp cracking sound, and the arm blocking Mae’s way snapped.
Following that, a muffled thud resonated as the 4750px tall giant was skillfully tossed aside by Mae in a clever shoulder throw.
Mae’s movements were swift, so swift that the bodyguard had no time to react. He lay on the ground in pain and disarray, his face turning deathly pale.
“Ah!”
The young woman next to Mr. Lee covered her mouth and let out a scream, staring at Mae in disbelief. Fear crept into her eyes. “You… you…”
Mae ignored her, merely casting a glance at the bodyguard struggling to stand up from the ground. and said, “Bring the invoice later, and I’ll reimburse you.”
With a slight tug at the corner of her lips, a chilling hint of disdain in her expression, she then turned her gaze toward the three members of the Lee family and said, “Old man, do you think it’s time for a proper conversation now?”
The Lee family trio could never have foreseen that Mae would employ this move. Witnessing a tall and robust bodyguard being easily taken down by her left them with a hint of fear. Realizing that kind words wouldn’t work with Mae, they dared not put on airs in front of her any longer.
Mr. Lee leaned on his cane and walked up to Mae, scrutinizing her from head to toe. He sighed and said, “Are you planning to make me stand at the doorstep while talking to you?”
“If you find it unsuitable to converse standing, you can also kneel and talk.”
A faint curve formed on Mae’s lips, her gaze radiating contempt.
“You…”
Mr. Lee’s expression twisted with anger once again, unable to restrain himself as he angrily retorted,

“I am your own grandfather!”
Hearing this, Mae sneered, “Old man, saying the same nonsense over and over again is pointless. Since you seem to enjoy talking nonsense so much, I won’t accompany you any further.”
After saying this, she stepped inside the threshold of the gate and, without waiting for any response from the Lee family, slammed the door shut.
“Mae! Open the door!”
Mr. Lee was so furious that he was practically hopping on one foot. The bodyguard, who had just regained his composure, was now holding his injured arm, his expression equally unpleasant.
For a man who held the national martial arts championship title and stood at 190 cm, being easily taken down by a woman was a blow to his pride. He wouldn’t dare to spread this incident, as it would become a joke within the industry if his peers heard about it. He realized that even though they hadn’t directly fought, just based on her previous move, he felt that if a real fight broke out, he might not be a match for her.
“Grandfather, stop yelling. That stubborn woman thinks she’s high and mighty just because she married Mark Smith. She doesn’t even consider us. We don’t need to beg her,” spoke a young man.
