Every time I brought up the topic of remarrying. Neil immediately became displeased. But I already had my divorce papers, what else can he do to me? “Have you found the right one?” He asked
“Aren’t they everywhere?” I calmly respond. “Don’t forget when I was pursuing you, there were plenty of others chasing after me too. I just chose you.”
Neil stared at me, his eyes filled with confusion. After a long while, he managed to voice his question, “Why can we still talk so calmly? I’ve been thinking, did you change suddenly, or was it gradual? It feels like you changed all of a sudden, but I don’t know what made you change”
I did change suddenly, because I had died once
From Neil’s perspective, he must be shocked. My feelings for him were so deep, it was impossible to let go so quickly. Even the fact that we can still talk calmly now was because I had become very calm.
In Neil’s mind, he should be the one proposing the divorce, and I should be clinging on, looking unwilling. That would be normal.
“What’s the big deal, weren’t you also smitten with Bonnie at first sight? It’s just a split–second decision, who can really explain it?” I casually explained. “Really?” Neil didn’t seem to believe. “It’s not because you found someone new?”
I’m lying in bed looking at Neil, “Why do you care so much whether I have a new love interest or not?”
Neil was taken aback, seemingly realizing his jealousy, and went silent for a while, as if contemplating something.
I said. The things we lose and can’t have are always the best, right? Don’t come looking for me anymore, I don’t want to meddle in your business with Bonnie any longer, I wish you two happiness.”
After saying this, I turned my back to Neil and stopped talking.
Neil should understand my meaning, he was just not willing to accept it. And I sincerely wish him and Bonnie happiness, so he won’t have time to disturb my life
Neil and I shared the same social circle, so even if we divorce, there will inevitably be some overlaps, but we can only be acquaintances.
“If this is what you truly want, alright, I respect your choice.” I heard Neil’s voice, followed by the sound of his footsteps leaving. I didn’t turn around to look, I just continued to close my eyes and rest, as if he never came

Many people criticized Bonnie, I didn’t know if Ada would oppose her daughter being with Neil after seeing these.
I hope this can all end here, but things didn’t go as I wished. Faith called, putting me in a difficult position. I didn’t answer her first call, and not until she called again did I pick up.
“Irene Faith’s voice had a trace of anxiety, “I heard you’re in the hospital, what happened?”

No wonder there was no reaction from his family when Neil and I divorced, so this was why I fell silent, not knowing what to say.
“But I absolutely can’t accept Bonnie.” Faith suddenly became emotional, “Even if she gets pregnant with Neil’s child in the future, I won’t acknowledge. If she wants to join the Whitmore family, she’ll have to wait till I’m dead.”
I was a bit surprised, Faith hated Bonnie to the point where she won’t recognize her own grandchild? Didn’t she always want to hold her grandchild? “What true love? Bonnie can’t possibly be that innocent. Anyway, I won’t accept her. If the Whitmore family needs a daughter–in–law, then I only
acknowledge you.” Faith said.
Her words were filled with sincerity and emotions, but I felt nothing. Maybe she really did like me as her daughter–in–law, but for Karina’s sake, I can’t forgive her.
We talked for a bit longer, then I ended the call.
The news of my hospitalization must have been told by Neil to Faith, nobody else back home should know. I didn’t even tell Stella and the others, because I didn’t want them to worry.
But I forgot there was one more person, who always liked to stir up trouble. Irene Bonnie showed up at the door of my ward room, it’d been four days since Neil announced the divorce.
Her leg seemed to have gotten much better, and she was just limping a bit when she walked. In her hand was a bouquet of blue bellflowers, which she placed on my bedside table as she approached.
“Mr. Whitmore told me you’re pretty sick and had to be hospitalized, so I came to see you, Bonnie said, her hair done up in bun, revealing her pretty forehead. Her face showed calm and gentleness. “Irene, are you feeling any better now?”
I looked at her with an expressionless face and didn’t say anything. Neil had announced his divorce, and she might just be here to rub it in.
Bonnie was a bit green–eyed about me, as Neil’s affection for her didn’t seem so steadfast. So, she needed to flaunt to feel secure.
“He told me you need to keep a good mood for your illness,” Bonnie kept talking, not minding me. “But he’s so careless, announcing such news at this time. I’m sorry, I know he just wanted to reassure me.”
I wanted to burst out laughing. Not wanting this to be a one–man–show for her, I sat up, grabbed the bouquet, and threw it at her. “Knowing I can’t get mad, yet you brought me a bouquet with such bad symbolism, you’re really thoughtful, aren’t you?”
