Out of Prison The Revenge Starts by Adam Davis Chapter 19
Chapter 196 At a Loss for Words
Five years ago? That car accident?!
As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd erupted in whispers!
Without needing further explanation, everyone understood what that car accident referred to!
Coincidentally, Leones had just been pressing Ashley about that accident from years ago.
Initially, people thought that everything was just Leones‘ side of the story.
But who would’ve thought that even the Sherland Guardians were tracing it back to Ashley? Now, with the involvement of the Sherland Guardians, an authoritative force has stepped in. The skepticism Leones had raised earlier now seemed more convincing.
“Maybe… that there’s more to the story from back then?”
“Is Mrs. Bloom actually involved in that car accident?”
“No way… This is too unbelievable!”
“But the Sherland Guardians have looked into it, and they must have some key evidence, right?” “Oh, I see. Ms. Quinn, the Commander of Sherland Guardians, was also a victim of that accident, wasn’t she?”
After much discussion, the crowd felt more than ever that the incident from years ago was far from straightforward.
And the people involved in that past incident now hold significant positions.
Leones, needless to say, has just proven himself.
And the most prominent victim, Veronica, has even risen to become the Commander of the Sherland Guardians, a person of great authority!
“So, Ms. Quinn has been secretly investigating that incident for years? No wonder…”
For a moment, the trust scale seemed to tip overwhelmingly in favor of Leones.
Things took a turn for the worse for Ashley.
“What’s going on?”
Caught off guard by the situation, Ashley couldn’t hide her shock and was left scrambling. Moments ago, Lois had intentionally hidden the discovery timeline of the two diamonds, which were actually found five years apart.
This misled Ashley, and she fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
Never in her wildest dreams did Ashley think that Lenny had left something so crucial at the crime scene years ago.
Even worse, he never came clean about it, leading her to believe that he had sold the diamonds. “It’s been so long…” Ashley managed a bitter smile, “Perhaps I’m misremembering?”
“Misremembering?” Lois asked, her voice icy. “So you’re saying these diamonds have been missing for over five years?”
“Um…” Unsure of how to respond and wary of further traps, Ashley could only offer a non–committal hum.
“So, how do you explain this diamond chewis
continued her relentless questioning.
What?!
Ashley was speechless, frozen in place. She couldn’t answer that question, of course.
She couldn’t possibly say that she was the puppet master behind all this and that the diamonds. were meant as payment or a deposit for Lenny.
“A diamond was left in the car at the time?!”
Upon hearing this new information, Leones was also taken aback.
He hadn’t expected such crucial details to be omitted from the public reports.
This was precisely why he had wanted to examine the case files, hoping to discover some. undisclosed details.
And this significant piece of evidence could be the key to overturning the case or the final nail in Ashley’s coffin.
“That… that must mean Leones stole
my
diamonds!”
Suddenly, it clicked for Ashley, who quickly shifted the blame to Leones.
“Yes, he stole my diamonds and then ran over you with the car?
“This one was stolen by that wretched Leones. The other was taken by Lenny!
“Yes… that must be it!”
Ashley’s mind raced, finally settling on a seemingly plausible excuse.
“Really?” Lois was no fool and could instantly see through Ashley’s lies and nervousness.
She never trusted a single word Ashley said from the very beginning.
Nothing but lies!
She must be hiding something.
“Mrs. Bloom, we’d like you to come with us for further questioning.
“Ms. Quinn also has questions for you.”
Upon hearing Lois’s words, Ashley went pale with fight.
So now, the victim from those years ago will interrogate me personally?
At this moment, Ashley felt immense regret, as if fate was playing a huge joke on her.
Had she known that the victim from the past had risen to Command the Sherland Guardians, she wouldn’t have dared to scheme anything even if one gave her the courage tenfold.
“Mrs. Bloom, please come along.”
Lois said please, but the guards beside her swarmed, leaving her no choice but to go.
“Wait!”
Just a few steps out, Ashley suddenly turned back, still hopeful. “What about him?
“Leones, that scoundrel, was the perpetrator back then! Why isn’t he also being taken in for questioning?”
