Chapter 197 Head of the Family
Ashley, facing arrest, tried to drag someone else down with her.
“Take him too! Question him along with me!” she demanded, pointing at Leones.
Lois was not one to indulge in Ashley’s antics.
“We are under orders to summon you for questioning. This has nothing to do with anyone else!”
Lois glanced at Leones. Though Veronica was keen on arresting this arch–nemesis as well, all current evidence pointed to Ashley. It might even exonerate Leones to some extent.
So, Veronica decided to summon only Ashley, and Lois was just following orders. Of course, she thought that if Veronica knew Leones was here, she might have come personally.
“Let’s go!”
Lois didn’t waste time and took Ashley away by force.
Though Ashley was highly reluctant, she had no choice but to comply.
“Ashley, don’t worry, I’ll hire the best lawyer to get you out,” assured her husband, Jason.
“Mom!” Timothy was equally concerned.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon,” Ashley straightened her clothes and shot Leones a cold sneer, “Don’t get smug. We’ll see who has the last laugh.”
Ashley couldn’t believe that she, a young lady from the distinguished Olsen family, could be bested by someone like Leones.
Soon, Ashley was taken away.
A buzz of speculation and surprise filled the room.
Who could have thought that past events would take such a twist? Was there some dark secret behind that car accident after all?
Even Jason found himself doubting. Could it be his own wife who was sabotaging their son?
No… it couldn’t be!
Jason quickly shook off this absurd notion, convinced that there must be a misunderstanding.
However, the crowd, led by the Five Major Families, continued to congratulate Leones.
“So, Mr. Bloom, you were falsely accused for five years, and now the case is finally moving. forward. Congratulations!”
“Absolutely! I always said that with your character, Mr. Bloom, you couldn’t have committed such a heinous crime back then. Something must have been off, and sure enough!”
“Who would have thought that the one framing Mr. Bloom would be his stepmother? And a member of the Olsen family at that! We’ll have to keep our distance from them in the future.”
Once the situation settled down, Leones, as the head of the Bloom family, issued his first -command.
“From this day forward, Ashley and Timothy are to be expelled from the family, never to return!” The crowd was instantly shocked by his firm decision.
Leones had been so decisive, showing no consideration even in front of his father, expelling his stepmother and half–brother from the family.
“Son, what’s the meaning of this?” Jason was equally shocked. His wife was already taken for
investigation, yet Leones showed no mercy.
Even if Ashley had crossed lines with him, what fault had Timothy committed to deserve such harsh treatment?
“Why?” Timothy immediately began to protest. “I haven’t wronged anyone, shamed the family, or killed someone in a car accident. Why should I be expelled?”
Maybe things would have been different if he hadn’t brought up the car accident.
Seeing Timothy so unrestrained, how could Leones let it slide?
“Why?” Leones sneered, “Because I’m the head of this family! Is that reason enough?”
That…!
Timothy was left speechless.
He suddenly realized that there had been a change in the Bloom family.
When they looked at his father and grandfather, their faces showed resignation.
No one in the Bloom family dared to oppose any of cones‘ decisions now.
“Who agrees with expelling Ashley and Timothy? Who disagrees?”
Leones raised his voice, addressing the Bloom family members. After a few seconds of silence, everyone almost unanimously responded, “We abide by the chief’s decision!”
They decided to kick Ashley and her son out of the family without hesitation.
“You all…” Timothy Bloom looked around incredulously at his uncles and aunts. He couldn’t believe how quickly they had turned on him right after his mother was caught.
Not a single person stepped forward to defend him
Was family really this fragile?
“Tim,” his father Jason sighed, “Go to your grandparents‘ place for now.”
Realizing the situation had come to this, Jason decided it would be best for his son to lay low at the Olsen family residence until his mother was freed.
The Bloom family had become a hostile environment for both of them.
“Fine!” Timothy clenched his teeth, glared at Leones, and snapped. “If I’m not welcome here, then I’m better off somewhere else. Are you leading the Bloom family? I couldn’t care less!”
Just as he was about to leave in a huff, cheerful laughter echoed from outside.
“Bravo! Truly bravo!”
As the clapping sound filled the air, an elderly man and a young man in casual clothes walked in.
The elderly man moved gracefully, each step seemingly not touching the floor, making no noise at
all.
Meanwhile, the young man behind him stepped so forcefully that each step shattered a tile.
Everyone gasped. The floor was made of earthquake–resistant marble, and yet it was crushed effortlessly by the elderly man. Who were these people?
Their sudden appearance caught everyone off guard, eliciting shock and fear.
“Who are they?”
“Don’t know, never seen them before.”
“The way they walk, they look like fighters.”
“Could it be…”
The murmuring guests stepped aside.
Benjamin’s eyes lit up, sensing an opportunity.
He quickly deduced that these two strangers were here for trouble and that the Bloom family wasn’t in a position to provoke such influential individuals.
His mind raced to one conclusion. They were likely here for Leones.
“What might your names be, honored guests? If you’re here for the Bloom family gathering, you honor us greatly.” Benjamin quickly greeted them with a bow.
The elderly man ignored Benjamin. His eagle–like eyes locked onto Leones.
Benjamin didn’t take offense, instead feeling more confident about his suspicion.
“Congratulations, Bloom family, on establishing a new leader,” the young man sneered sarcastically. “We, the Kingsley family, decided to join the festivities and share in your joy.”
