First, Celeste was shocked, and then she thought Liam must be drunk, spouting nonsense. She gently pinched his face and asked, “Are you just saying anything to make me happy?”
Liam said seriously. “I’m not kidding; I really got a vasectomy; I did it years ago.”
Celeste didn’t believe him. “You had a vasectomy, where’s the scar? We weren’t divorced yet a few years ago, how come I didn’t notice any scars? Are vasectomies so advanced these days that there’s no trauma?”
Liam paused for a moment and whispered, “There is a scar.”
“What?”
Liam let go of her and started undoing his belt.
Celeste was dumbstruck to watch him blush and unbuckle his belt
She had always dreamed of sitting on the couch like a queen and watching Liam undress in front of her.
After all, he was always the one to undress her first, leaving her butt–naked while he was still in his suit. She was flooded with embarrassment and wanted to switch places and let Liam feel the embarrassment too
Now that she was actually seeing it, her heart was about to leap out of her throat.
To be honest, it was incredibly sexy.
With a shred of sanity left, she grabbed a blanket and threw it over Liam. “Don’t think you can get away with anything just because you’re drunk.”
Liam pulled the blanket off and whispered, “The scar is here, take a look.”
Celeste thought to herself, I don’t believe you, but her eyes were drawn to it.
And then she saw the scar Liam was talking about.
About two centimeters long, perfectly hidden. After all, who would examine someone’s private parts that closely? So she never noticed it.
Celeste’s expression became serious. “You really had a vasectomy?”
Liam mumbled a response and whispered, “I wouldn’t lie about something like this.”
“Why?” Celeste remembered how impatient Liam was when it came to kids and whispered, “You don’t want kids?”
Liam shook his head and, after a while, said, “The doctor said your chances of getting pregnant were slim, and even if you did, the chances of miscarriage were high. I thought we could wait until you fully recovered to have kids. You’re allergic to condoms, I couldn’t touch you. Having a vasectomy seemed safer, if you got pregnant and couldn’t carry to term, you’d be more heartbroken.”
Celeste’s throat tightened. She was filled with emotion and pain.
Liam had made such a huge decision that she couldn’t imagine it, but for the sake of her health, he chose to get a vasectomy. It was crazy, she never thought Liam would go that far for her.
“How long did it take to recover?”
She whispered.
Liam said, “The scar healed in a month, but the doctor said it’s best to wait three months before having sex”
Celeste was taken aback, suddenly, it all made sense.
Liam’s coldness towards her started during that period of time years ago.
The vasectomy perfectly explained his past behaviors.
She closed her eyes and whispered, “Why didn’t you tell me about something this big?”
Liam seemed to sense her anger, he rubbed his temples and whispered, “I’m tired, I want to go to bed.”
Celeste’s reaction was: “What do you mean? Explain!”
