He couldn’t quite put a finger on his feelings for Trisha.
He enjoyed her company and didn’t want her to ignore him. But when it came to liking her, something seemed to be missing. He didn’t have a strong urge to be intimate with Trisha.
Even when he kissed her, it felt more like a tease. His heart was calm and gentle, but it lacked passion.
However, the relaxed and happy feeling he had around Trisha was something he didn’t experience with his ex–girlfriends.
He didn’t want her to get hurt by Jace, was worried about her being treated unfairly, wanted to protect her, and wanted to have her under his protection, but he didn’t have the desire to be intimate with her. Could it be?

The more Nicolas thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
When he was on good terms with Liam, he once felt uneasy about Liam’s relationship with Mason. Mason’s return to the country initially made him jealous for a couple of days.
His feelings for Trisha were probably the same.
She might be a bit naive, but she was very loyal, a great cook, and although straightforward, she didn’t hold grudges.
She was the kind of straightforward person he liked.
Once he realized this, Nicolas felt more than ever that he needed to resolve this issue. He didn’t want to lose this loyal friend who cooked delicious meals. So he took the initiative to pour wine for both of them.
“Trisha, about the food delivery incident, I was wrong. I let you down and betrayed your trust. This glass of wine is my apology to you. Please forgive me.” Trisha was surprised, then furrowed her brows, “Are you up to something again?”
Nicolas fell silent.
He didn’t blame Trisha for thinking this way. Nicolas‘ apology was indeed too direct, making her instinctively think he was up to something.
He softened his voice, “I’m sincerely apologizing to you. After you got off the car last night, I regretted it so much. You’re so good to me, cooking for me, playing games with me. I upset you just because I wanted a few more bites. I feel really guilty.”
As for that kiss, he was still figuring out how to explain it.
Before he could say anything, Trisha said, “You did more than one thing wrong. You kissed me in front of Dr. Ledford. Did you ever consider my feelings? How would Dr. Ledford see me after that? I consider you a friend, you shouldn’t do this to me, should you?”
Nicolas fell silent again.
In her eyes, that kiss didn’t mean anything.
He should be happy, but Nicolas felt a bit uneasy.
Did she not see him as a man?
Or did she treat all men, except for Jace, this way?
Trisha took the wine glass, “Considering your sincere apology and this bottle of Lafite, I forgive you. But don’t do
Ledford. We can’t have him misunderstanding me.”
Nicolas reluctantly agreed.
After Trisha finished her wine, she began eating happily.

But Trisha was the type who wasn’t good at drinking but loved to have fun.
Chatting while eating, she started to feel a bit woozy after a few drinks.
Her cheeks turned rosy, and she held a fork, trying to stab some meat in the pot.
After several unsuccessful attempts, Trisha got angry, “I don’t think you’re here to apologize sincerely. The meat you brought is acting like it’s got legs; it runs away every time I try to stab it. You’re deliberately not letting me eat!”
Nicolas was speechless.
He picked up a fork, speared the piece of meat, and put it on her plate.
Trisha got angry again, “What, my hand can’t operate a fork? I don’t believe that I can’t get that piece of meat!”
After saying this, she threw the meat from the plate back into the pot and tried to stab it again.
Five minutes later, she decided to ditch the fork, rolled up her sleeves, and prepared to grab the meat with her hand.
