Celeste kept her lips sealed, and now she murmured, “I’m sorry…”
Before she could finish, Leonard cut her off. He said to the manager, annoyed, “You’re spraying your spit all over my wounds. Don’t you want me to get better?”
The manager glared at him and said, “Why on earth did I end up with a headache like you?”
Whenever he sees the goddess, he loses his sanity! He can’t even get two words in before he’s rushing to her defense! Leonard was sprawled on the bed, face buried in the pillow, his voice low. “Then go find someone who’s less of a pain!”
The manager shot this ungrateful jerk a glare, about to say something, when his phone rang. He stepped out to take the call.
Javier looked at Leonard, burnt all over, his face full of worry. He said, “Take good care of yourself these days. When the shooting starts, you don’t have to go. I’ll push your scenes back. Health comes first.”
Leonard, fighting the pain, said, “It’s fine. I can still go to the shoot. The burns are on my back. They won’t affect anything.”
Javier said, “Don’t push yourself. Rest up.”
Then he turned to Celeste, who had an apologetic look on her face, paused, and asked, “You’re not drunk anymore?” Celeste:…
She had been so focused on Leonard’s injuries that she completely forgot that she had faked being drunk before. Celeste opened her mouth to speak, but Leonard cut her off with a quip: “You got sobered up by the hot water, did you?” Javier thought for a moment, then said to Celeste, “I’ll have someone take you home.”
“Thank you, but I’ll stay a little longer. You go rest.”
Javier didn’t say anything more and left.
He’d had quite a bit to drink, and his head was spinning. Before the shoot had even begun, both male and female cast members were being rushed to the hospital. He wondered whether they had picked the wrong day to start filming. He would have to consult someone to pick a luckier day.
One by one, people left the hospital room, until only Celeste was left.
The doctor finished draining the blisters, used a cotton ball to wipe off the seeping fluid, and then started disinfecting.
The disinfection was far more painful than the draining of the blisters. Leonard furrowed his brow, his hands clenching tightly onto the bed sheet.
He was really afraid of pain. If his manager were here, he would have screamed out loud from the pain. But the only one left by his side was his goddess.
He was alone with his goddess, and he couldn’t lose face by crying out in pain during the disinfection.
So he bit his lip, not allowing himself to make any sound.
But every time the doctor touched him, he would reflexively shudder. Celeste caught on.

Leonard didn’t know what she was talking about. His neck was burning, and the pain was making him speechless. He nodded in confusion.
