Chapter 717
Liam’s face was gloomy as he watched Mason leave.
Liam frowned. How could Mason possibly like Celeste?
“Liam…” Claire approached him and called out, “Should we go to the hospital too?”
Without a word, Liam returned to the private room, expressionless.
Kaylee had already left. Skyler was taken aback when she saw his tight face.
Without any small talk, Liam asked directly, “Where’s Kaylee?”
“Kaylee wasn’t feeling well; she left early.”
Liam’s face grew even colder. He picked up his phone and dialed Kaylee’s number.
At that moment, Kaylee had just gotten into a taxi. Hearing Liam’s call, she was scared out of her wits and immediately hung up.
She said anxiously, “Drive now!”
The driver asked, “Where are we going?”
“Anywhere, just go!”
She handed the driver some bills and said, “Hurry up!”
The driver started the car right away.
Liam couldn’t get through to Kaylee, so he contacted the bodyguards at his company.
The moment the call connected, he said coldly, “Find Kaylee and bring her back! If she refuses to come, break her legs and drag her back!” Skyler’s face changed drastically, and she immediately stood up and said, “Why are you trying to catch Kaylee?”
Liam glanced at her coldly and said, “It’s time she paid for her actions!”
With that, he stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
Skyler was anxious; Janis quickly held her and whispered, “Don’t worry,” then turned to ask Claire, “Claire, what happened?”
Claire paused before saying, “Kaylee scalded someone with boiling water. The victim has reported it to the police.”
Skyler’s face turned even paler. “Such a small matter needs police involvement? Isn’t it just a money issue?”
Claire hesitated, then said quietly, “The victim isn’t short of money. He’s a very famous star.”
Skyler gritted her teeth and said, “Just an actor, what’s the big deal? Liam has gone mad!”
With that, she rushed out after him.
Just as Liam left the restaurant, the police arrived at the scene, and everyone in the private room was stopped. At the hospital.
The doctor picked at Leonard’s blisters on his neck one by one with tweezers and a needle.
Every time Leonard was prodded, he would wince in pain. Celeste was all furrowed brows and tense looks.
Leonard’s agent was on the sidelines, looking like he had swallowed a lemon. He kept asking Leonard, “Does it hurt?“and then pestering the doctor, “Will this wound leave a scar?”
The doctor was cool as a cucumber as he cleaned the blister, calmly saying, “Usually it won’t scar, but it depends on the individual. Some folks can recover fully in a month; others might take a year or two.”
The agent was practically having a heart attack. “This is a disaster! He makes money off his looks. Isn’t this like losing his bread and butter?”
The doctor tried to hold his tongue but finally said, “It’s not like it’s on his face. He’s an actor, not a model. He doesn’t perform with the back of his neck to the audience.”
The agent shot the doctor a dirty look. “Every inch of an actor’s skin is as important as their face!”
Leonard, feeling a bit awkward, said, “Can you chill for a sec? The doctor said it’s all good.”
The agent, seething, finally blurted out, “Do you have any idea how precious your body is? You were shielding someone from hot water, and this time you were lucky it only hit your back. What if it had hit your face? Do you have any idea what would’ve happened?”
