Seeing her change in expression, Liam continued, “Grandpa David is still lying in bed. If he knew that you were fighting with the Reeds because of this, do you think he’d be able to rest and recover?”
Celeste coldly looked at him, “If it weren’t for Kaylee, Grandpa David wouldn’t even be lying here!”
“So I brought her here, and I’ll make her apologize to Grandpa David in person. Whatever compensation he wants, I’ll do my best to meet.”
Celeste’s heart chilled completely, “Liam, not everything in this world can be solved with money, I won’t let this go easily.”
Saying this, she broke free from Liam’s hand and stepped forward.
She didn’t impulsively raise her hand again, but just stood there coldly.
Liam brought his family to visit Grandpa David, leaving Shawn feeling pleasantly surprised and touched. With great enthusiasm, Shawn inquired about their well–being, disregarding any concerns of disturbing Grandpa David’s rest, and led everyone into the room.
David wasn’t asleep, and when he saw Liam, his expression eased slightly, calling out, “Young Reed.”
Liam pursed his lips. This voice sounded much weaker than when he usually called him.
Unhappy, he turned to Kaylee and said, “Come forward.”
Escorted by two bodyguards, Kaylee reluctantly stepped forward and perfunctorily bowed, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
Liam frowned and said seriously, “You can’t even bend your waist, huh?”
As soon as he spoke, Kaylee felt a force on her shoulder.
She frowned and struggled, but the hand on her shoulder just increased its strength.
Her shoulder hurt so much that she couldn’t stand it, her eyes red. Finally, under Liam’s cold gaze, she bent down, tearfully saying, “I’m sorry!! didn’t mean it! Please forgive me!”
Though she said this, the expression on her face was not one of apology, but of humiliation and disdain.
Liam was irritated and was about to speak when Skyler quickly stepped forward, “Sir, I’m Liam’s mom. I’ve heard about what happened today. Kaylee didn’t know you were living with Liam, and she didn’t recognize you the first time she saw you. She’s young and doesn’t know what’s right and wrong. Please don’t take it to heart; I’ve already scolded her at home.
Don’t worry about the hospital fees; we, the Reeds, will take care of it.”
After that, she took out a card from her bag, “This is just a token of my appreciation; please don’t think it’s too little.”
When Latonia saw the card, her eyes lit up.
Skyler handed the card to Shawn, “Alesson, take care of the old man. If there’s anything you need, just let me know.”
Celeste’s face immediately turned serious.
Liam’s brow furrowed as well.
It was only then that Shawn and the others found out the reason for the drama and why Skyler personally came over–the old man’s injury was related to Kaylee.
He said right away, “You’re too kind. Kaylee must’ve done it unintentionally. The doctor just came to see him, and there’s no big problem. We’re all family, and there’s no need to make a big deal out of it. Look, you scared the child-”
