She listened at the door for a long time, waiting until everyone’s faces turned red before walking out.
Upon seeing her, everyone stopped arguing.
Latonia stared at her and asked, “Celeste, what did grandpa say?”
Celeste coldly replied, “Nothing, he just drank some water and rested.”
Latonia didn’t believe it, “Drinking water took that long? Didn’t he say anything else?”
Celeste looked at her, “What else do you mean?”
Latonia was left speechless, barely managing to say, “Nothing.”
Out of greed for grandpa’s money, even if she was shameless, she couldn’t ask in front of the younger generation.
Just then, a commotion arose in the distance. Celeste turned around to see Liam walking towards them.
On his right was Skyler, and behind them, two burly men in suits escorted Kaylee.
Shawn was momentarily stunned before quickly stepping forward to greet them, “Skyler, Liam, this is just a small matter, why did you all come?”
Celeste’s expression darkened as she stared at the impatient Kaylee, clenching her fists and heading straight for her.
Liam attentively observed her actions, and at the critical moment when she lunged forward, he swiftly advanced, seizing her raised wrist and deftly diverting her off to the side.
Celeste’s voice trembled, “Let go of me!”
Liam whispered, “I’m bringing her over to apologize to Grandpa David.”
Celeste’s eyes filled with tears as she looked at him, “What’s her way to apologize? Throught the gifts?”
Liam pursed his lips, “Just let her say sorry. Whatever it takes for Grandpa David to chill out, we’ll go with it. But you can’t lay a finger on her.”
Once Celeste made a move, things would get even messier, and he didn’t want her involved in this.
But Celeste thought he was just protecting Kaylee, and her heart sank halfway.
“Mr. Reed, you’re really dote on your sister. You even want Grandpa David to come up with a solution? What can he do? He’s old, and he can’t fight a child, can he? Let go of me!”
Liam frowned and held her tightly, speaking lowly, “Let you go so you can make a scene? Celeste, calm down and think about it. Once you slap her, have you thought about how to deal with the aftermath?”
Celeste’s fingers curled up, her lips tightly clenched, and she said nothing.
