Seeing it was Shawn, she didn’t want to answer.
Shawn usually didn’t have any good news when he called her.
However, Shawn wasn’t going to give up easily. If she didn’t pick up, he would just keep calling.
Celeste had no choice but to answer. “Hello, Dad.”
“Letti, what’s going on? Why did it take you so long to answer?” Shawn asked.
Celeste replied, “I was in the bathroom just now, it wasn’t convenient to answer. What’s up, Dad?”
“Nothing much, are you with Liam?” Shawn asked.
“He’s at work. If you need to talk to him, please call his office: Celeste said.
“I’m not looking for him, just have a question for you.” Shawn said.
What could Shawn had to ask her?
“Letti, are you close to Mr. Francis?” Shawn asked.
“Not really” Celeste answered almost without hesitation.
This wasn’t a lie, as she really wasn’t very close to Nicolas. Strictly speaking, she didn’t know much about all of Liam’s friends.
Liam rarely took her to friends’ gatherings, perhaps he had anticipated that their marriage wouldn’t last long, so he didn’t bother to involve her. Why did Shawn mention Nicolas?
She soon found out the answer.
Shawn said, “I heard from Angel that she and her friend went to a jewelry store yesterday to buy some jewelry and ran into you.”
Celeste narrowed her eyes and said indifferently. “Yes, that happened. What about it?”
“Her friend spent over 30 million on a bracelet in the store, did you know?” Shawn asked.
Celeste exaggeratedly said, “Ms. Reilly has great taste. I heard that bracelet was their store’s treasure.”
Shawn paused for a moment and said, “Ms. Reilly doesn’t want the bracelet now, but she can’t return it. I heard that store is owned by Mr. Francis. Isn’t Liam friends with Mr. Francis? Can you ask him to see if he can return the bracelet?”
A 30 million bracelet, after she bought it and showed off, she must have regretted it when she got home, right?
She still overestimated Adriana’s character and didn’t expect her to turn to Shawn.
How could Celeste help with the trap set by herself?
“Dad, you’re a businessman too. Without quality issues, they generally can’t be returned. If people like Ms. Reilly can just say they regret it and want to return it the next day, how can others do business?’ Celeste said.
“That’s true. But in the end, it’s all about relationships. Talk to Liam, ask him to talk to Mr. Francis. Isn’t this just a matter of him saying a word?” Shawn said
Celeste didn’t really want to, but she had no choice but to agree, “Alright, I’ll ask Liam to check with him. But it’s not guaranteed whether Nicolas will be willing to help or not.”
Shawn breathed a sigh of relief, “With Mr. Francis and Liam being so close, how could he not help out?”
With the serious talk over, the atmosphere became a bit awkward. Shawn tried to make small talk, “How’s your mom doing lately?”

Celeste had heard this kind of talk from him before. The last time he visited the hospital was a year ago, and that was only because her grandfather’s friend came to visit, and he wanted to put on a show
Shawn was such a cold-hearted and ruthless person. How could her discerning grandfather have agreed to let his daughter marry someone like him? After hanging up the phone, Celeste immediately called Nicolas.
Nicolas was in the middle of a boring meeting at the time. When he saw the incoming call, he was first taken aback and then perked up. He got up, picked up his phone, and said seriously, “You guys continue, I need to take a client call”
