“Hey, who’s this?” As soon as the call was connected, Nicolas’ voice came through, sounding calm and steady, unlike his usual frivolous tone.
Celeste was puzzled. Didn’t this guy have her phone number?

But she didn’t have time to think about it, and quickly said, “It’s me,
Celeste.”
Nicolas exclaimed in surprise, “Oh, it’s you’ What’s up?”
Being so direct, Celeste felt a bit awkward. But now wasn’t the time to be awkward, so she got straight to the point, “I need a favor from Mr. Francis.”
Nicolas laughed, “What can I do for you? Liam is way more capable than me.”
In other words, she should go to her husband.
Celeste was pretty straightforward, saying directly, “We had a fight, and I don’t want to talk to him any more than I have to. Plus, Mr. Francis is the only one who can help with this issue.”
Nicolas became interested, “You guys had a fight? What about? Tell me more.”
Why did she feel like Nicolas was so excited to know about her fight with Liam?
“It’s not a big deal, I accidentally gave the socks I bought for him to Mr. Fletcher, and he got mad at me.” Celeste said.
Nicolas got the point, “You gave socks to Mr. Fletcher?”
“Mr. Fletcher helped me a lot at the party, so I bought him a tie as a thank you gift. The socks were accidentally mixed in, not meant as a gift.” Celeste
said
“Oh, Nicolas said meaningfully, “then Liam is being unreasonable. It’s just a pair of socks, is it really worth getting upset over?”
Celeste didn’t want to discuss who was right or wrong with him. Nicolas was Liam’s childhood friend, and if she said anything else, it could easily get
back to Liam.
“Mr. Francis, let’s get to the point. I need your help.” Celeste said.
Nicolas attitude warmed up. “We’re all family here. Just tell me what you need.”
Celeste briefly explained the situation at the jewelry store yesterday and Shawn’s request.
In fact, Nicolas already knew about the incident yesterday, even pulled out the surveillance footage from the store and watched it again.

Celeste laughed, “If I wanted you to help me return the bracelet, I would’ve gone to Liam instead of you.”
Nicolas didn’t have much connection to her, and over 18 million wasn’t a small amount. He might not be willing to help her with this, but if Liam were to ask, it would be a different story
