Liam slowed down, “What, you regretted what you just said?”
The person behind him didn’t speak, still holding his sleeve. Liam softened, “Celeste, don’t be childish. It won’t work on me.”
He turned around to look and saw a little girl at the height of his thigh, holding his sleeve and whispering, “Uncle, you stepped on my flower.”
Liam looked down and saw a folded paper lily under his left foot.
He bent down to pick up the paper flower and squatted down to give it to her, “Where’s your mom?”
Just as the girl was about to speak, a man called her name and ran over.
The girls father thanked Liam and led the little girl away.
Liam looked around and saw the familiar figure in the men’s clothing store across the street.
He walked in with a gloomy face and saw Celeste choosing a tie.
His annoyance vanished instantly.
Celeste was hesitating between two ties, turned her head and asked Liam, “Which one do you think looks better?”
Liam pretended to be calm and said lightly. “The blue striped one, I guess.”
Celeste held the tie against his neck and shook her head, “The blue one suits you, not him.”
Liam’s body stiffened, his expression turned cold, “Him? Who is him?”
Celeste didn’t notice Liam’s mood change and said. “I want to give it to Mr. Fletcher. If it weren’t for him last night, I don’t know how long I would have been locked in the bathroom. I don’t know how to thank him, so I thought I’d buy him a tie while I’m at the mall.”
It was good to return favors, but having dinner together would be a bit awkward. Giving a gift was more convenient.
As she spoke, Celeste suddenly remembered something and looked up at him, “Oh right, aren’t you guys good friends? Do you know what style he likes?” Liam said expressionlessly, “I don’t!”
“Does he usually wear dark or light-colored clothes? Celeste asked.
I have no idea.” Liam said.
Celeste frowned, “Aren’t you guys good friends? How come you don’t know this?”
Liam said irritably. Tve never observed a man’s preferences! Hurry up, grandma is waiting” He left without paying any more attention to Celeste.
He was afraid that if he stayed any longer, he wouldn’t be able to resist prying open this woman’s head to see what was going on inside!
Liam waited in the car for over 20 minutes before he saw Celeste coming out of the elevator and walking towards him.
Mr. Robinson immediately drove over, picked up Celeste, and drove out of the underground parking lot.
Because of what happened at the mall, Liam was in a bad mood and didn’t look at Celeste properly since she got in the car.
Celeste was already used to Liam’s unpredictable temper. She took a box out of her bag and put it on the passenger seat.
“Mr. Robinson, this one’s for you. My friend who’s studying medicine recommended this brand. They said this knee pad is specifically designed for people like you who’ve had joint replacement surgery. It can help reduce the stress on your joints, and you can wear it daily. Give it a try and see how it works.”
Mr. Robinson was surprised. “You’re too kind.”
Celeste waved her hand, “We’re all counting on you to take care of Grandma. Only when you’re in good health can you help us look after her better, so we can work with peace of mind”
