Mrs. Kelley said, “You want to see me deal with Skyler, don’t you?”
Celeste laughed, “I wouldn’t mind a peek”
Just as she was about to hang up, Celeste stopped Mrs. Kelley, “You managed to pull in votes, you can do shares too, right?”
“I can, but over–sharing fake news can get you in trouble.”
Celeste rolled her eyes, “Who said anything about fake news? I want to share something real.”
Mrs. Kelley asked quietly, “What do you want to share?”
“A case of a suicide jump from three years ago.”
Just after hanging up, Owen texted her, “The person’s here, accommodation’s arranged.”
Celeste sent back a sticker of two kittens hugging, with a heart bubble above them..
Liam glanced at the group chat, paused, and slowly typed a question mark.
Owen felt a bit nervous, carefully sending back a sticker of two puppies snuggling, captioned “Close as sisters“, trying hard to show that nothing was going on between them.
Ever since Liam inexplicably added the three of them to a group chat yesterday, Owen felt something was off. Liam kept saying it was for easier communication for their collaboration, but the truth was, finding people didn’t require communication with Liam Whenever he chatted with Celeste, Liam would appear, making himself seem important.
Even though they were just having a normal conversation, he always felt like he was being monitored and warned by Liam
He would never steal Liam’s girl, and Liam knew this, but what was up with this weird possessiveness?
No matter how Owen thought about it, he couldn’t figure it out.
Liam wasn’t worried about him stealing Celeste, but Celeste stealing him.
After all, Celeste had shown great interest in Owen. She might just convince Owen with her smooth talk if she wasn’t under his watchful eye
Celeste understood Liam’s “jealousy” and couldn’t help but laugh.
She texted Liam privately. “Are you coming back for dinner?”
Liam replied, “Are you cooking?”
Celeste said, “I can’t just live here for free, can I? I feel bad, and I need to show my gratitude somehow.”
Liam teased her, “Then let’s go out to eat. Choose a restaurant with a minimum spend of 3000 dollars per person to express your gratitude properly”
“How in the world could I possibly make a losing deal like that?” Celeste paused, then added, “You tell me what you fancy eating, and I’ll cook it for you!”
Liam stayed silent for a while.
Just as Celeste thought he was busy with something else, Liam sent her hundreds of photos, all of them showcasing her past failed attempts at cooking according to online tutorials.
He even asked seriously, “Is this the kind of cooking you’re talking about?”
Celeste gritted her teeth and asked, “When the hell did you take these photos?”
Liam replied, “I was worried about food poisoning, so I saved these as evidence Initially, I thought it was accidental, but then i realized it’s your consistent performance”
Celeste was furious, “I should’ve straight up poisoned you to shut you up!”
Liam smiled slightly, “Actually, it’s just that the appearance of the dishes is mediocre.”
Celeste’s ears perked up, ready for Liam’s compliment, only to hear him casually remark, Actually, the taste isn’t much better either.”
