When Annie was wheeled out of the operating room, she had regained consciousness, but she looked frail and weak. Mildred saw her condition and immediately approached with concern, asking,
“Annie, how do you feel? Don’t be afraid, Mom will handle everything for you.”
However, Anne’s gaze went beyond Mildred and landed on Jane, and she weakly said, “Mom, I want to talk to Jane alone.”
Hearing Anne’s request, Mildred turned to look at Jane and instinctively refused, “Annie, you just woke up, and your body is still weak. You don’t need to worry about her. Mom will take care of everything for you.” Mildred repeated her words.

Upon hearing this, Annie finally opened her mouth and spoke with bitterness, “Jane, I admit that you’ve become formidable, but even so, you won’t be able to win Mo Han over.”
“So, your request for a private conversation with me was simply a pretext to unleash harsh words?” Jane coldly retorted, not understanding why Anne would say such harsh words at this time.

“I’m leaving now. Take care of yourself. There’s no point in hurting yourself like this to pursue someone who doesn’t love you.” With that, Jane didn’t spare another glance at Annie lying on the bed
and turned to leave.
Seeing Jane about to leave, Annie began to panic, “You can’t leave.”
“I can’t leave? Shall I stay and continue watching your little act?” Jane coldly retorted, her gaze unfaltering as she stared at Annie. Someone who had just come out of the operating room shouldn’t be so spirited, let alone speak so much nonsense.
Jane had already seen through Annie’s act; her supposed suicide attempt was nothing more than a ploy to gain sympathy from Drake. After all, Annie had used this kind of trick before on multiple
occasions.
After her years abroad, Jane had become well-tempered, and she wasn’t as soft-hearted as she used to be. Especially towards someone like Annie, who had always manipulated others with her pitiful
act.
Being exposed by Jane, Annie’s expression turned unpleasant. She then sneered and said, “So what if it’s acting? As long as Drake believes it.”
After speaking, Annie struggled to get up. Seeing her movements, Jane furrowed her eyebrows.

Seeing Annie lying on the ground in the hospital room, with Jane standing not far away, Mildred immediately became furious. She stormed up to Jane and loudly demanded,
“Jane, what have you done to my daughter?”

Coldly, Jane spoke, “I already warned you before. If it happened again, do not blame me for not being polite.”
Jane had no respect for Anne’s mother, Mildred, who had always allowed her daughter to be unreasonable and manipulative. A mother like that couldn’t be considered a good one; she might even be aiding and abetting evil.
Mildred, having been slapped, was furious, “You dare to hit me, you wretched woman!”
Jane let go of her hand, and Mildred st agge red, almost falling. Her eyes stared fiercely at Jane.
Annie was equally furious, “Jane, how could you hit my mom? Even if my mom is wrong, she is older, and you should show respect to your elders.”
