Aliza pov
I see her place the bandage down on the sink and I hear her sigh heavily, something is bothering her and it’s making me worried.
“Tell me what is wrong, “I say and wait for her to give me an answer.
“He couldn’t see you this way and it all got worse when he didn’t sleep a minute,” she says and turns her head to look at me. She looks worried and exhausted.
“How long have I been out?” I ask her and slowly turn my head her way. She got dark circles under her eyes and she looks to be close to her tears. Nothing makes sense, she is not her usual self.
“Two days!” she says and I almost lose my balance and fall to the floor by her words. How could I have been out that long? And he just left?
“Two days?? Then where is Noah” I say and feel a bit panic about this whole thing. He has to be scared when I have been gone for that long. I’m never away from him for more than half a day.
“Calm down!” she says and places her hand on my shoulder when I shrug back when pain hits me from her touch.

“He is just fine, his grandparents have him and he is happy with them. They spoil him with everything! He has been in here with them every day, don’t worry!” she says and it only brings me more questions than answers. If Noah has been with his grandparents, then where has Darian been? Why isn’t he with him?
“Come! Let’s get you back to bed before you faint and I will explain it all to you!” she says and I know she could see how my mind was spinning with questions.
“You can come in!” she says and turns toward the door when it’s opened and the guard comes walking inside to help me back. I hate being this helpless but for now, I can’t do much about it.
When he grabs my body and carefully lifts me up, I have to bite myself on my lips to prevent myself from crying out the pain that hits me again. I guess the doctor was right about all my injuries with how painful it all is.
He walks over and places me down on the bed carefully when I rest back against the pillows that are picked up against the headboard. Liz comes and takes a seat beside me on a chair when I see the guard and the nurse walk out of the room and leave us alone.
“Tell me what’s going on!” I say to her when she is silent all too long. She grabs my hand in hers and at this moment, I don’t know if I should be worried or not.
“Once you had marked him, the bond started to kick in and he had to leave you to go and handle the prisoners. He was furious and took the time to get what he could out of the men before he killed them all off,”

“He came back here and was bloody all over him while you were out. He stayed in here for a day when he had taken care of your wounds until the bond started to get hard on him” she says, and I get a frown on my face. Why would the bond be hard for him? It doesn’t make any
sense to me.
“You have lost me here! Why would a bond be hard on him?” I ask her when she lets go of my hand and sits back instead.
“He is a powerful Alpha who got marked by his mate, but he hasn’t marked or mated with you!” she says and I just look at her with raised eyebrows.
“I don’t get it!” I say to her.
“His wolf is about to go crazy for not being able to mark or mate with you. When you see him you will know what I’m talking about” she says and I stare at her. I know that means trouble once I see him again. Swallowing hard I breathe out and try to calm my raising heart.
“Where is he?” I ask her when I have calmed down a bit
“That’s why I’m worried! I don’t know where they went!” she says and lean forward before she looks at the watch on the wall.
“He just told me to stay beside you all the time before he ordered the guard outside to wait here. Then he took Chase and Jeffrey from here

and some other guards and just left out the door. That was a day ago and I haven’t been able to get in touch with Chase or anyone else since then!” she says and I snap my head in her direction.
Now I understand why she is worried and I instantly get anxious they have left to go somewhere they shouldn’t and got into trouble.
My mind is railing with all thoughts. Can they have left and got after Bill? Does he even know about him?
“Have you told him about Bill and what I told you?” I ask her when she gives me a nod in response.
“Yes, I’ve told him the day when he brought you here,” she says and I rest my head back against the pillow and look up at the ceiling. Have they gone after Bill then I have no idea what they will face. I guess he is still the Beta in my old pack, but are they all in on this?
Has he told my mother about finding out I’m alive and is she in on this as well?
Her betrayal still lies heavy over me, my own mother was in on all this from the beginning but would she go so far and try to kill me?
I still hope deep down she cares about me that much she wouldn’t want me dead.
“I have to get over there! I can’t let them hurt anyone because of me” I say and try to sit up on the bed when Liz stops me from moving more

“To do what Aliza? Look at your body and in what condition you are! You can’t even walk out of the door by yourself!” She says and I know she is right but I can’t stay here.
“I have to do something! That’s my old pack and I can’t let them get hurt because of me” I say when she grabs my hand in hers.
“I know! And trust me I want to go after them as well, but I promised Darian to not leave your side. And besides, I can’t carry you and we won’t get past the guard outside” she says and I know she is right, but there has to be a way. Turning my head her way I see her look at me with a serious gaze.
“Then we just have to find a way out of here!” I say when a lot of heavy steps are heard outside the door.
