Aliza pov
Liz leans forward while I take a look at the caller id one more time before placing the phone against my car again.
“Who is this and what’s going on?” I ask her, it doesn’t make any sense and I want to know what it is.
“I will explain once you get here! Now hurry” she says when I hear some sirens in the background before she hangs up. Taking the phone from my ear, I quickly get up on my feet and grab my bag before tossing my phone inside the bag.
“What’s happening?” Liz asks from behind, and I hear her walk after me out of my office.
“I don’t know! The woman just told me to hurry home and she would explain once I got there, then there were some sirens in the back” I say and rush over to the front door when I push it open and run outside.
“Wait! I’m coming with you” Liz shouts after me and I know she is locking the door after us. I can start the car and wait for her to get in.
It doesn’t take long after I gave reached the car and got inside when she gets in the passenger seat and I quickly pull out of the parking lot.

“Is your house on fire?” Liz asks the question I’m thinking to myself. If it is, it would explain why I heard the sirens.
“I hope not!” I say when I speed down the street and turn to the right to quickest get out of the city and to my house.
“I’m calling Chase,” she says before she picks up her phone and dialed his number. He doesn’t answer and I hear her curse out loud when we come closer to the road that leads to my home.
The closer we get, I look up over the treetops and try to see if there comes any smoke, but I don’t see a thing.
Making the last turns before the house comes into sight I take a deep breath when I see it’s not on fire.
It still stands the way I left it this morning except the front door is
open.
“Did you have a burglary in your house?” Liz says when I see several police cars lined up outside my lawn and they are talking with a person I guess might be the one who called me.
“I have no idea! But it doesn’t look better” I say and pull up behind the police cars before I turn off the engine and quickly get out.
“What’s going on?” I say and see a woman talking to them in running clothes.

“Are you the owner of the house?” one of the policemen says when I approach them fast.
“Yes, I am,” I say and stop right in front of them.
“I’m sorry to say this, but you have had a burglary in your house. This woman runs past here when two men were carrying some things out of the house. When she disturbed them they dropped everything and got inside their car and took off. She ran after them for as long as she could and we got a good description of the men!” one of the policemen says while I turn to look at my house.
I don’t have anything in there I can’t replace, and nothing of value. So they can’t have gotten away with much.
Hearing a phone ringing I turn my head and see Lis pick up her phone from her pants.
“It’s Chase,” she says and points to the phone before she takes a few steps away.
“Can I go inside?” I ask the policeman and turn to look at the front door again.
“We are taking some pictures inside and looking for fingerprints, it will take a moment until they are done,” he says and this would have been much easier if I had my wolf. She could have easily picked up any trace of the thief if it was a human or a werewolf.
I feel someone pulling on my arm when I turn my head to look at Liz.

She motion for ine to take a few steps away from the others so they don’t hear.
“Chase told me they are on their way here, Jeffrey was just outside the city and will be here in a few minutes. He told me to make sure no one else walks induce the house until he is here and can secure traces after them” She says in a low voice when we have taken a few steps away from the policemen.
“Alright,” I say when she gets a text and looks at her phone.
“Chase says Darian and he is coming here right away,” she says and I can’t have my son seeing our home this way, I don’t want him to feel unsafe in our own home.
“Tell them to wait! I don’t want Noah here to see this! I will call him later when I know more” I say to Liz when she gives me a nod and starts to type on her phone.
It doesn’t take long until I hear cars driving here and that fast, I know it’s his men and soon their black cars come driving down the road and stop right beside me on the road.
Jeffrey almost jumps out when the car is still moving and is quickly over to my side where he starts to look at me.
“Are you alright?” he says with concern in his voice.
“I’m okay,” I say when he gives me a nod.

“Wait here and I will go and talk to the police!” he says and walks over to the policemen and they all turn to look at him.
By the look of it, I would say they know him well and have big respect for him. I wonder why, since he is a werewolf and they are humans. I bet there is a story behind it.
I see them talk before one of them walks over with Jeffrey to the house before they walk inside. I just stand there and wait for them to come back outside and let me in.
“Darian wants you to call him right away” I hear Liz say when I turn my head to the side and look at her.
“Tell him I’m alright and will call him after I have been inside. Make sure he doesn’t say anything to Noah” I tell Liz when she calls Chase and walks a bit away from me.
I don’t want to talk to anyone, I just want to get inside and see the damage they have done
The waiting feels like an eternity before I see Jeffrey and two policemen walk out onto my porch. He looks at me before he gives me
a wave to come over.
I start to take long strides over my lawn before I reach the stairs to my house. Trying to prepare myself for what I will face once I walk inside my house.
