Chapter 22
Darian pov
Sitting in my office in our office building in the city I place the last papers down on the desk before taking my glass of whiskey and getting up from my seat and looking out over the city.
I prefer to work here in the office!
We have another office where we have our pack but I’m rarely there, I can run the pack from here and only need to go to that town once a week.
There is a knock on my office door when Chase comes walking inside with Jeffrey behind him.
Taking the last in my glass I know it’s time to leave for today’s meeting.
“Are you ready?” he says when I walk over to place my empty glass down on the desk.
“Yes!” I say and take my suit jacket from my chair and pull it on before I start to head towards the door.
“Have you decided what to do with the collaboration?” Jeffrey says and I have tried to come to any conclusion these last few days but still, I can’t make up my mind what I
want to do.

Reaching the elevator we get inside when Chase pushes the button and the doors close before we start to move
down.
“No, I haven’t, it comes down to this meeting!” I say when we have reached the bottom floor and the doors are opened, walking towards the entrance I get stopped by the receptionist when she hands me a bouquet of white flowers. Taking them from her before walking out of the building and heading towards the waiting cars up front.
“Again Darian?” I hear Chase whine behind me but I ignore him/completely when I have reached the car and the driver is standing and holding the door open for me, climbing inside the others are quick to get in after me.
“Don’t you think it’s enough?” Chase tries to complain again but it doesn’t matter what they say, they will never understand why!
“No!” is all I say when the driver gets in the front seat and starts the car, rolling away from the office building the driver knows where to go without me having to tell him, he saw the flowers and knows what I want.
“Do we have time for this?” Chase says and I know this way is a detour but it doesn’t matter, the meeting won’t start without us being there anyway.
“We have enough time!” I say when the car turns and I see we start to get closer to where I want first. They both are quiet while I look out the window and the car makes the last turn before it comes to a stop.

Opening the door I reach for the flowers on the seat beside me and get out, walking down the gravel walk I easily find my way where I’m heading. Finding my spot I take the old flowers out and unwrap the new ones and place them in the vase in front of the memorial stone.
Taking a long look at it before turning around and throwing the dead flowers in the garbage bin before I walk back to the car and get inside again.
Closing the door I sit back in my seat and the car starts to move again.
“Better?” Chase says and I growl a response to him to shut up or there will be a problem, I’m not in the mood for him today.
He understands what I mean and sits back in his seat in silence while I take out my phone and start to go over the email one more time when we drive to the meeting.
I get some more work done during the time in the car and once we roll in front of the building the meeting is supposed to be held I know this will probably take the rest of the day to get done.
“They are probably already waiting for us!” Jeffrey says when the car comes to a stop and I see the front door being opened when his secretary comes walking out to meet us.
“Let’s just get this over with and we can go home after!” I say when the driver opens the door for us and we step outside.

It’s not too often I have to make a visit here and more than once I have been thinking if this is worth it, we have other connections we can use instead and not everyone is worth having any business corporation with.
“They are waiting for you in the meeting room!” the secretary says and walks in front of us over to the elevator, I wouldn’t be here in the first place if it weren’t for my father’s opinion. He has had good connections with them and he thought it would be for the best but I’m not sure I agree with him.
Reaching the right floor the elevator doors opens and we get out and follow her to the meeting room, she opened the door and we get inside.
Just by looking at them, I know it will take the whole day.
After several hours we are finally done with the meeting and I had hoped to go back but they insisted on us going to the best restaurant in the city, they had managed to get a booking and they said it is always fully booked.
Since we have to be at something I decided to go and try the place.
“They could fix more seats so we are coming with you!” Jeffrey says when we are sitting in the car again on our way
to the restaurant.

down in my pocket and sit back when the car drives through the city.
“Let’s hope it’s as good as they said!” Chase says and I keep my eyes looking out the window when the car stops in front of a big building where a restaurant is on the first floor and what looks like a spa on the other side or some kind of beauty place.
“Is it here?” I say looking skeptical at the place, I never would have thought they would have good food in here.
“Yes, it is!” Chase says when he opens the door and we all get out, standing in front of the entrance to the place when Chase and Jeffrey walk inside first before I start to go after them.
Coming inside the place is bustling with people and almost every table is occupied, Chase and Jeffrey start to follow a waitress when I walk a few steps behind when I get a whiff of a smell I recognize.
My wolf instantly peeks up and I know he senses the smell as well!
I have to follow the trace and start to walk the other way when I find the scent getting stronger, my mind has to play me a trick when I come closer and I find the source of the scent standing in front of a reception desk.
I see her take a step to the side and I guess she is about to leave and I can’t let that happen!
“Stop!” I say with a loud voice when I see her halt in her
