Hearing him take a step closer I fear for this moment, after all these years! I can’t run out of here since he is only a few steps behind.
I get a whiff of his smell and get weak in my knees from it, it can’t be true, my mind has to be playing me a trick!
The moon goddess can’t be that cruel to me!
“Turn around!” he orders out and I open my eyes and try to prepare myself for this, but even if I got years to prepare myself nothing could make this moment easier.
Slowly turning around I hold my eyes to the floor before I take a breath and lift my head and trace my eyes over his muscular body until I meet his eyes again and everything else around us fades away. His beautiful eyes are staring back at mine and I don’t see anything else!
I know without having my wolf with me I have been punished by the moon goddess, I don’t know what I have done to anger her this way that she gives me Darian as my second chance mate.
I have never heard of anyone being mated again with the same mate once rejected but here I am, the exception from the rule!
His eyes look stone cold at me and I guess he hates this as much as I do, I would rather have no mate at all than get a second chance with him. Why does she punish me this way?
“Where did you go?” I hear a man’s voice before several heavy footsteps are heard behind him.
Two men come to stand beside him and look at me in shock, well now I know where I have seen them before and if I just had remembered it before then this could have been avoided.
“What the hell!” one of them says while my eyes hold captive by Darian’s
“I thought you were dead!” he just says in a cold voice that sends a chill down my spine. What does he want me to say to that? Confess I planned to have them believe I died in that car and never intended to reveal myself. Just living in peace and going about with my life the way I want?
To be honest Aliza Grey died that day and I don’t mourn her, I have a new life and a new purpose and he has no part in it!
Mabie I should just try to deny I have any idea what he is talking about, it could work.
“Sorry to say I have no idea what you are talking about and I think we are done here!” I say and play stupid while I take a step to the side, I have to get out of here before my son comes through that door. It would be the worse scenario to happen!
My heart start to beat hard in my chest at the thought he might come running inside here! Revealing the truth to him. I see Darian tilt his head a bit to the side while he looks intensely at me for a moment before he takes several steps closer to me until he stands only a few inches away from me.
I know he can easily grab me from this distance and I only want out of here quickly, but I will not let him intimidate me. I’m not the little girl

“Where have you been all this time!” he booms out and my first reaction is anger, he has no right to ask me any questions or come here and demand answers.
“You have no right to come here and ask questions, it’s none of your business!” I spit back and now he has stirred up my anger to the point he will get my anger back in response.
He looks at me for the longest time and I don’t avert my eyes from him.
Hearing someone rushing closer from the kitchen Heidi’s voice comes from behind him.
“Oh good, I caught you before you left! Can you take another shopping trip tomorrow before you come in, some ingredients are starting to run out with all these extra seats today!” she says and rushes to my side and look at us, she becomes silent when she sees the tension between
- us.
“What’s going on here? Do you need any help?” she says and I know she wouldn’t hesitate to shift on the spot and help me if I needed. Keeping my eyes on Darian a bit longer in a silent threat before I turn my head toward her.
“It’s alright! He will be leaving soon!” I say and feel his gaze on me the
whole time.
“Do you have a list?” I ask her when she takes out a note from her apron and hands it to me.
“Here I think I got everything down or I will call you early in the morning!” she says and I know she will be up late tonight and need to sleep in tomorrow.

“Don’t rush here in the morning!” I will solve it, take a morning at home and rest a bit!” I say when she gives me a smile before she gives Darian a side eye when she turns around and rushes out of the room.
I feel his eyes on me and his silence speaks numbers but we are done here!
Turning my head to look at him I think he has taken a step closer to me because he feels closer than before!
“Now I don’t have time to stand here and catch up! Have a nice evening!” I say in a polite voice when some customers come walking by and I don’t want to handle this mess at work in front of our
customers.
I’m about to turn around and walk out of there when he grabs my arm and pulls me close to him when I hear a growl coming from him.
Trying to snatch my arm out of his grip he only holds me tighter on my
arm.
“We are not done talking!” he says with an angry tone in his voice and to me, we have nothing to talk about, he said enough five years ago and it was loud and clear.
“No, we don’t!” I say in a low voice and try to stay calm when his men come walking up behind him.
“Darian the rest are waiting for us, we have to get back!” one of the men says. He doesn’t take his eyes away from me.
“I think you should go to your meeting!” I say and try to get out of his grip but he won’t budge.
“I’m occupied!” he states to his men when the door is opened and I try
