Hearing them talk, I know Heidi is frustrated over something, and I walk over to Liz and ask to get the phone, she looks at me before handing it over to me.
“What’s going on?” I ask her when she is silent on the phone first.
“Nothing!” she says in a tone I recognize all too well.
“I know you stayed back at my house, and I’m grateful for it, but I want you in safety and nowhere near my home at the moment. We will fix it once it’s safe,” I say to her when I hear her sigh through the phone.
“You know?” she says.
“Yes, I do. And it was me who told Darian to get you out of there, or

I’m going over myself! I need you to be safe, so can you please just go with them.” I say when I understand that’s probably the problem herer
“I can take care of myself!” She protests to me, and I know she can to a certain point, but I won’t risk her getting in trouble because of this.
“I know, but save that for another day. Get back and stay away from my house for now, we will have time to fix it after.” I say to her. I know she loves my house just as much as I do, but it’s not worth anyone getting hurt for it.
“Alright, I will go with them, but have you any idea how annoying they are? I don’t even get to carry a single thing out of the house,” she says, and I can only imagine how they have tried to help her and how she has thrown a fuss about it.
“Just go back home and be with your daughter! We can close work for now, and you can take her and come here instead,” I say to her. I’d rather have her here with her daughter until this settles and we can all go back.
“No offense, but I’d rather stay and run the restaurant. The rest you can close for now if you want,” she says, and I had a hunch she wouldn’t

agree to closing it.
“I’ve got a new phone and number. I will send you a text. Call me if there is anything, and hopefully we will be back soon.” I say to her before she says goodbye, and we end the call.
“She didn’t want to close,” Liz states, and I turn around to give her the phone.
“No, she wants to keep the restaurant part open. We could close the spa part if we wanted,” I say to her when she takes her phone from me.
“What do you want to do?” Liz asks while I get back to the counter and take a seat.
“It’s best if we talk to Frederic and see what he wants to do, he could probably keep it running for a while,” I say. Knowing how fully booked he is all the time, it’s hard to ask him to take on more responsibility for the other girls while we are away.
“We can call him at his lunch and ask,” Liz says when I see the maid

take down two plates, and I guess dinner is soon done.
“Yes. Sounds good.” I say when the maid starts by placing the plates on the table before she walks back to the stove.
“Lunch is ready,” she says, walking back to the table with some glasses. Both of us take a seat and wait for her to bring everything to the table. I know this is her work, but I feel bad for not helping her and just sitting there and waiting.
When everything is set on the table, we start to fill our plates before digging in. We eat in silence, and I hear her phone beeping when she looks at it before placing it back on the table and sighing.
“What is it?” I ask her when she has emptied her plate and placed her glass back on the table.
“They need to know what floors and colors on the wall you want. Contractors will be over at the house tomorrow already and start to fix the walls and floors first,” she says, and I sigh as well. Then it means we have to get back into his office and start looking over the catalogs again.

“Alright, let’s get to it!” I tell her, and take my plate and glass with me over to the sink. The maid takes it from me right away when Liz comes over and hands her plate to her.
“I’m calling Frederic first,” she says, walking out of the kitchen before me. I’m heading to his office and starting to go over the first box with samples of floors when she comes inside after a little while.
“Frederic told me he could take out the colors for the walls and fix the best floors if you wanted, and if you had any idea what you wanted, you could just text him,” Liz says and takes a seat at my office chair.
“I have found a floor I like and can send it over to him, but I have no idea about the colors for the walls,” I tell her, getting up from the floor to grab my phone and take a picture of the sample I liked and send it over to him. I know whatever he chooses will be beautiful.
