“No, Liz! She can’t stay there!” I say to her when she tries to protest.
“Don’t you think I tried to get her from there? But she refused, and what’s ever been going on with her, I have no idea. I haven’t seen her this stubborn before.” Liz says when I get up from my seat in a rush.
“Aliza, wait!” she says when I walk out of the kitchen and head right over to his office. Opening the door without knocking, I find them both talking and looking down at a piece of paper that lies on the table.
“You get her away from there, or I’m going myself!” I say in a hard tone when Darian turns his head and looks at me. Liz comes inside the room when I feel Darian’s anger flare to life through the bond, and he is angry at Liz.
“No Darian! I heard how things broke in my house yesterday, and with the amount of fighting wolves, I’m not stupid! I know there can’t be much left of my house, and right now I don’t care as long as she and everyone are safe!” I yell out when I feel Liz’s hand on my shoulder while I look determinedly at Darian.

“Leave us!” he says when Liz squeezes my shoulder before Chase gets up from his seat and walks over to take Liz with him before they walk out of the room.
Darian looks at me for a long moment before he gets up and grabs my waist when he pulls me with him over to his desk. He grabs my butt and lifts me up in a swift motion before he places me down on it and pulls my legs apart before he gets between them. He hooks a finger under my jaw to tilt my head up.
“I wanted to fix the place up before you saw it; don’t want it to be a sad moment after the night we spent together,” he says, and I’m touched by the things he is ready to do for me, but it’s not important. Her safety
means more to me.
“I know why, and I’m grateful for it. I had an amazing night with you, and that won’t change. I brought the mess there, and it’s not worth her life or anyone else’s!
So if the house can’t be saved, I will carry the good memories from it, but either you get her from there somehow or I’m going myself!” I say when he growls at me before his eyes flicker.

“Get everyone away from the house and make sure Heidi is safe and brought to her home,” he says while I listen to their conversation.
“Let me know once it’s done and have her to call me if there are any questions,” Darian says, and hangs up the phone when he places it down on the desk before giving his attention back to me.
“Now that’s done, what more can I do for you?” he says, pulling my body closer to his when he nuzzles on my shoulder.
“Where is Noah?” I ask him when I feel him trace his nose up my neck.
“Safe and secure at my pack house with my parents. Next?” He says and places a kiss on my earlobe when a shiver runs through my body and tingles play on my skin from wherever he touches me.

“When can I go back to work?” I ask him when he traces his lips on my jawline.
“When the threat is gone and I say so,” he states before he kisses the seam of my lips, and I let out a deep breath from the feeling he stirs up in my body.

“I know a lot of things you could do,” he says in a teasing tone before he captures my lips. I give in to the kiss and answer it back when he pushes his tongue inside my mouth and I place my hands on his waist. He snakes his hand behind my head and pulls it slightly back.
I get lost in the kiss when he suddenly breaks it, and looking at his eyes, I see them glance over for a moment, and I wait for him to be done mind linking.
“The doctor has some information for us, but he has to go away for a few days to collect it,” he says, looking at me with a frown on his face.
