Isabella’s POV
When I woke up, I could see that it was still dark out and I hoped that it was still the night I passed out and not three nights after or something of the sort. That seemed to be the norm with me. I still felt quite woozy but before I could even get used to the light in the room, a glass of water was suddenly pushed into my hand and gently pushed up to my lips. My eyes widened over the rim of my glass as I saw that I wasn’t alone. Lisa was holding the water to my lips while the other two maids stood back. I took a few sips of the water before pushing it away. Placing my hand on my forehead, I tried to recall what had happened to me. Of course, I knew I had passed out and I remembered hearing Alexander yelling for a doctor to be sent but I couldn’t recall what exactly happened.Yet.
For some reason, I was sure it wasn’t something extremely drastic and I was going to remember soon. That’s also why I found myself feeling quite embarrassed. I feel like people have seen me pass out way too many times in this packhouse. Does a competent Luna faint all the time? They must think that I’m some sickly, weak person who was…
I looked up, “What are you all doing here?“I suddenly remembered to ask.
All three of them blinked at me before the shyest of all them cleared her throat, “We’re here to attend to your needs Luna.” She said with a bow.

“I don’t really need anything. You can go,” I told them. It was quite awkward to just have three pairs of eyes on you. “Well one of you can stay, I guess.” I added a second later, knowing the Alexander who yelled for a doctor to be sent up would not want me to be left completely alone.
And speaking of Alexander, where on earth was my mate?
Just then, Alexander’s mom walked in with her usual warm smile on her face. I admit, it calmed me down immediately and I had not even previously realized that I needed to be calmed. I made to sit up in bed, but she rushed to me to make sure I didn’t, propping up the pillows instead to raise my torso up a bit. She told the girls that they could leave before brushing a strand of hair from my face. The gesture
immediately reminded me of her son and I fought the urge to
ask for him.
“You’re a new Luna, my dear. You have to get used to having them around.”
“All three of them?” I whispered. “It’s just me.” I whined. I’m a grown ass woman, not a baby.
She smiled, looking amused, “Alexander’s great great grandmother used to have seven.”
“So in my time I can reduce it to one?”
She chuckled, grabbing the glass of water from my side and making me drink some more. “Your sense of humor is still intact.
“What happened?” I finally asked after I had sipped enough. To my surprise, Alexander’s mom just winked at me and I nearly choked on my spit.

“I wondered why Alexander hadn’t yet marked you all this while and why you were still unmarked at the ceremony. I didn’t know that you kids were waiting for later.” She said with a grin while I found my cheeks heating up furiously as everything came back to me. “You seem shocked so I’m just going to explain to you. I’m sorry I didn’t earlier, I just thought you already knew.”
I narrowed my eyes, “What is it?” I asked her, confused.
“So, its quite normal to feel dizzy or even fall unconscious after being marked. It’s a bit rare for others but it is highly expected if you’ve just been marked by an Alpha wolf.” She chuckled, “Alexander must’ve either never heard or had forgotten in the heat of the moment. My dear boy was panicking and I don’t know if you’ve seen the way he paces when he’s worried and restless but it wasn’t easy to calm him down even after I explained everything to him.”
I found my lips stretching into a small smile as I pictured it all. He must have been yelling at everyone, I thought, my sympathy going out to anyone who was at the receiving end of his frustrated shouts. I was sure there was a good reason why he wasn’t here right now and I wonder how his mom was able to achieve it. I don’t doubt that she could’ve had a hand in keeping him away. It was also quite hilarious when I heard his mom call him stuff like ‘my dear boy‘. Alexander was as manly as manly can be, I thought with a small chuckle out loud.
“I’ll tell your mate that you’re feeling good enough to laugh at him.” She teased. “Go on, get some more rest. I think the stress of today and the previous days intensified your reaction. You outdid yourself with the planning my dear, everything was wonderful. Everybody enjoyed themselves

and the food you picked as well. The party is still on but I’ve turned on the soundproof in here. I’m not going to let anyone in here, not even Alexander.” She chuckled when I pouted, “I know you want to see him but I think you need to rest some more, you still look quite dazed.” She stroked my hair softly, “Do I turn off the lights?” She asked and I nodded, turning on the lamp beside me.
When she left, I readjusted the pillows and fell back unto the bed. The party was still on and everything was going fine. No one had been watching me after all and I was truly just being paranoid. It was just what it was, a feeling. I fell unconscious for a perfectly normal reason as well, I thought raising my fingers to graze the spot where I was bitten. I blushed as I remembered how it felt when Alexander bit me. I didn’t realize getting marked by your mate would be something pleasurable. The canines were quite long and the fact that the entire length was going to sink into my neck had made me feel as though I would feel nothing but excruciating pain. A pain that would have to be endured nevertheless. Who knew I would end up wondering if I could be marked again and again.
You have a very naughty mind. My wolf accused and I gasped at the sudden intrusion before giggling.

I could almost feel her rolling her eyes, You may be right.

I don’t know if it was her quiet chatter that eventually lulled me to sleep or if I would have slept even quicker without her

voice in my head but I was glad to eventually fall asleep. Into a deep sleep with sweet dreams I knew I would not remember when woke up.
When I woke up again, it was morning. I could tell by the bright light probing my eyes, even behind my shut eyelids. I yawned and opened my eyes slowly only to clasp my mouth shut as my eyes went wide. I was staring directly into the face of one of the maids and I was so startled that I scrambled up in the bed, placing my hand on my chest where my heart was beating heavily.
“What on earth?!” I demanded and she looked even more startled than I was as she jumped back.
“I’m sorry, Luna. I was just checking your temperature before you woke up.”
I groaned, “Can you guys stop fussing all over me now? I obviously don’t have a fever. I was literally just asleep.” I said, trying to sound as nice as I could. I refuse to be at fault it I did not succeed though, I was pretty shaken up after having to wake up like that.
I groaned, grabbing a pillow and burying my face in it. I yawned in her face too, my morning breath was in her face! Throwing the pillow aside, I looked beside me and saw that the water jug was thankfully empty. I grabbed it and
stretched it out to her, “Here, can you get me some more water?”
She was quick to take it from me, “Yes,
Luna. Of course, Luna.”
I sighed as I watched her hurry out of the room with the jug, hoping she decided to take her sweet time in getting the water and not hurry back. Just before she left though, she
turned back,
“Is there anything else you need, Luna.”
I just groaned and fell back unto the bed, hearing the satisfying click of the door moments afterwards. Luna duties may yet be more bearable than having these girls fuss over me like this. I’m a grown woman, I can certainly take care of myself!
