Alexander’s POV
I had spent the entire night driving around the pack. looking for Isabella. I cross checked all the places my men had already checked as well as Chloe’s place and even her parents‘ since I was not completely convinced. They had instantly become worried and I realized that there was no way things could remain on the low. I told them that Isabella and I would explain everything to them once he found her.
I drove around two times over, checking the park, the beach, the shops, hospitals, everywhere and making sure to tell everyone to call me if they saw any trace of her.
I would have gone for a third round around the pack if Mason’s car did not finally run out of gas. I cursed as I drove back home. I refused dinner and could barely sleep a wink that night.
Eventually, I managed to close my eyes and let sleep take me but the moment I woke up the next morning and heard that there was still no sign of Isabella, I realized that that would be the last time I would even think about sleeping.
I took my own car and after driving around the pack the entire morning without results, I came back devastated and really angry. I lined up all the trackers and fighters and split them up. Two to search the pack since I had already searched it as best as I could and the rest, I spread across multiple neighbouring packs. If she was planning to be free of me forever she could hide in a neighboring pack, right? And that was me still trying to tell myself that she was just hiding.

captured so that we would let our guard down and whoever was responsible for this could attack.

But had someone seen us together that night after all? Had someone somehow realized that she was my mate and captured her just as I feared? I felt bile rise in my throat. I was already beginning to see the end of my rule and my sanity if I did not find my mate.
I dialed her number for the forty–fifth time hoping like all the previous times that she had run out of battery and had finally found somewhere to charge her phone but like all the previous times, the call did not even go through. When I walked into the pack house, I was immediately met by Blake who told me that my father was demanding to see me.
I started to argue but Blake just shook his head telling me that I had to go and that it was very urgent. Taking a deep breath, I took the stairs two at a time as I jogged up to the second floor, deciding that taking the elevator would somehow increase my anxiety.
When I got up to my parent’s suite I stopped in my tracks when I saw that Isabella’s parents were also there. Her mom was squeezing a hanky as if she was trying to take its life and all in all the room was pretty tense. My mom came to the door to lead me inside, searching my face for signs of anything while hers filled with worry.
On sighting me, everyone got to their feet like they had been waiting very impatiently for me to get here.
“What is going on Alexander? You cannot turn the entire pack upside down and not tell anyone what is going on.”
Something ticked inside me as my father addressed me and I realized that Thad reason to be mad at him. “I told you this would happen. I told you that this whole thing was a bad idea. I told you to give me time to think but you went ahead and organized a freaking ball anyway. You are not the Alpha anymore, I am and while I respect your advice and value everything you have to say, you should let me make the decisions and you

My mother bit her lip while my father looked at me with slight shock which he quickly masked. I admitted, I too was quite shocked at myself since I had never been so bold with my father but I was too angry to be concerned.
“Calm down Alexander. Sit down and explain to us. Isabella’s parents are worried.” He said, sitting down while Isabella’s parents sat down as well. I couldn’t sit though, I was too restless to sit still and I did not know how to state that without coming off as even more rude.
“How did you know that my daughter was missing?” Her mother whispered and I turned to her, my face softening when I saw her worry for her only child. “I would have just thought she went home but I got worried after you came to ask about her last night and I have been calling her ever since. It’s not even going through, I’m really worried.”
Her mate threaded his fingers through hers and using his thumb massaged the back of her palm in a way I imagined was soothing. Then he turned to me, “Is my daughter your mate?” He asked seriously.
“Or with the way you were so against finding your mate, is she your lover? Perhaps the one who you have decided to forfeit finding your mate because of.”
Isabella’s father glanced at my dad at the same time my head snapped to him while a low growl escaped my lips.
“She’s my mate!”
My mother gasped. “Alexander, what’s going on?”
“You obviously didn’t just find this out yesterday. You both have come in close contact so many times before then for you to discover your bond. Why didn’t you say anything?” My father asked.

“That has nothing to do with this situation. She may very well have gotten kidnapped by the people who realize that capturing my mate would be a useful way to weaken our pack. I’d rather not be here chit chatting while something really terrible could be happening.” I said harshly while her mother trembled.
“What do you mean, something really terrible?” She whispered and my heart clenched in guilt. Maybe I was so mad because I knew that deep down, this was all my fault. If I hadn’t let her out of my sight in the state she was in, her life wouldn’t be in danger right now.
I went to Isabella’s parents, “I will find your daughter, I promise. I would not rest until I do. I just need you to be calm.” I said to her mother before bowing to show how much I respected them. An Alpha never bowed to anyone but I don’t mind if this is an exception.
I made to leave when my father spoke. “And what if she was not kidnapped, is there any reason why she might have run off?”
My jaw hardened and I pulled open the door and slammed it behind me as I stepped out and into my car. It irked me that I could not leave this pack to go and find her because I could not abandon my pack for any reason when there was a possibility of danger approaching, especially when I wasn’t even sure of what lay ahead.
It also irked me that there was both the option of her having run away and the option of her having been kidnapped. How on earth am I to know which it was? And how did I find her when I couldn’t be sure if I was looking for someone that was hiding or someone that was in danger?
By now the entire pack already knew that something was wrong and that Isabella Rossi was someone very important and that she was missing.
The rumors of her being my mate were flying around even though they had not yet been confirmed. Did I care if everyone found this point? Of course not. Did I see the reason why I decided to keep it a secret in the first place? For the life of me, I could not remember why I thought that

would be such a good idea, or why I had been so angry with her because I doubted all this would happen if I had just come clean from the
beginning.
At least she would have had more protection as the Luna by now. We would have been fine and she would have no reason to run off after we had an argument that would never have happened.
I drove into the parking lot of Crown and got down, radiating my full Alpha aura as I walked in causing even the biggest of the bouncers to bow in submission and follow me. When I had rounded them all up in the empty club, I looked around at them.
“My mate was last seen here. If any of you value your life, start talking because people don’t just vanish.”
