Alexander’s POV
It was the second morning I’d get out of bed after barely sleeping the entire night to hear that there was still no sign of Isabella. Last night. I was so close to shifting and tearing someone apart in that club when after some intense questioning someone finally confessed that they had seen two men carry her out but they had threatened to kill them and their families if they said a word and that if they had known that she was my mate they would have reported nevertheless.
I had seen red after that. Even though I was pretty much sure that she had been kidnapped, hearing that she had indeed been taken turned my blood to ice as raw fear spread through my chest and nearly crippled me. Was she okay? What were they doing to her? Where were they and for goddess‘ sake, who on earth were they?
Throwing on some clean clothes I went downstairs to check in with the men that I had sent to neighboring packs and when they ducked their heads to apologize and told me that they had found no trace of her, I had punched a hole through the wall.
By now everyone in the pack had come to realize that Isabella was my mate and they were all worried although not as worried as me about their newfound Luna. I couldn’t for the life of me fathom where they could have taken her to and who exactly was behind all this and it was driving
me crazy.
I went down to the guard rooms where one of the bouncers from the club was chained. I grabbed a chair and sat down in front of him. “Have you finally recalled what the person who took my mate looked like?”
“He was wearing a black hoodie and it was dark out.” The man sighed and

I glanced at one of my men who grabbed the bouncer’s fingers and pulled them to the back, snapping them one after the other.
He yelled in pain, breathing heavily when I looked at him even closer, radiating my Alpha aura. “And description would do.”
He went on to give a rough description although still standing on what he was saying that he had barely seen the guys‘ face. Ile roughly described one of the men’s height, hair color, and other features and by the time he was done, I was certain that I had seen this man before.
Leaving the room, I paced to and fro my office, while trying to wrack my brain until finally I came to a stop.
I dialed Blake’s number and he picked up on the first ring.
“I want Ryder and Chloe in the guardroom,” I commanded.
Just then a knock came at my door and before I could decide on whether to say ‘enter‘ or ‘go away‘, the door was pushed open to reveal my mother.
I sighed. “What’s the matter, Mom?”
“You. I’m worried about you. Your eyes show that you’ve barely slept and with that, I can only wonder whether you’ve eaten at all.”
“I’m okay, mother. I’m more worried about whether my mate has been given a bite to eat in all the time that she has been abducted.”
“How can you find her if you’re not even taking care of yourself?” She frowned.
“And how can I get comfortable when she’s probably out there somewhere being tortured? Please, Mom, I understand that you’re worried about me but please don’t. I’ll be fine as soon as I find my mate. I’m sorry but I have to go,” I said, getting up and shoving my phone into my pocket.

It was taking too long for Blake to arrive with the people I had asked him to bring in and I was going to pace myself to death at this rate. I still had people out there searching for her and I was beginning to wonder if Isabella had truly just vanished because I did not understand how there was no trace of her anywhere. Not a single clue, nothing at all.
Finally, I heard a commotion outside before a cuffed Ryder was thrown into the room where I was waiting. They didn’t cuff Chloe but Blake was restraining her by her arms as she tried to go after Ryder.
“What is this about, Alpha?!” Ryder spat and I just glared at him.
“Where did you take my mate?”
He scoffed, “Oh now she’s your mate? After refusing to acknowledge her all this while, she goes missing all of a sudden and now she’s your mate?”
My jaw hardened and I nodded to the fighter who grabbed Ryder’s hand and snapped one of his fingers backward. He cried out and so did his mate who fell to her knees as tears streamed down from her eyes.
“Please, Alpha.” She begged. “Please let’s just focus on finding Bella. You’re wasting your time with us. We’ve known her long before anything even happened between you two. We’d never do something like this, please you have to believe us.”
“And yet you went ahead to have sex with her boyfriend behind her back.” I spat and her face contorted in pain as she cried even harder.
“Chloe is my mate, for heaven’s sake! What do you want from us? Let her go at least, I can’t bear to see her in so much pain.”
“And I can’t bear to have my mate missing.” I turned to the guard. “Make him talk and lock her in another room. She is not to be released until he speaks.” I turned back to Ryder, “If you value her life, you better start spitting out answers.” I growled before leaving the room.

Shifting into wolf form, I ran into the woods, ran through trees, through muddy ground, and jumped over streams until I got my wolf tired. It was something that never happened. I was so fit that no matter what I did, I had never been able to do anything to get my wolf to actually be tired but I had been running for hours, and combined with the exhaustion of the whole ordeal and the fact that I had barely slept or eaten, I finally collapsed to the ground.
How could I let this happen? How could the thing I had worked so hard to prevent actually end up happening in the end? I lay there collapsed on the ground until the sky began to change and the sun began to set. That was when I shifted back and put on the clothes that I had been carrying in my mouth all the while and realized that I had just passed the border of another pack.
Just then, who I believed to be their trackers rushed to me in wolf form but they seemed to have recognized me or at least my wolf’s aura because they stepped back a bit before shifting and dressing up.
“Alpha Alexander.” They said, bowing
“I was not minding my border, I would go now.
“We heard about your Luna. We’re sorry about what has happened. You‘ re free to come in to search for her if you wish although we already granted your men entrance to do just that.”
I shook my head, “It’s alright. My regards to your Alpha and thank you for your hospitality.”
They bowed again, “We’ll let you know if we hear anything.” They said and I just nod, waiting for them to turn around so I could strip before shifting and running back to my pack and then to the pack house.
In wolf form, I scaled the walls up to my balcony before shifting and going into my room. I went straight into the shower and spent over ten minutes under the hot water before switching over to cold. I thought

about what could possibly be happening with my mate right at that moment. Were they torturing her? Was she…was she still alive?

My body shook with fear immediately the thought entered my mind and my wolf howled inside me. Was she eating? She was pregnant. She needed to eat. I hope they didn’t find out about that though because it could put her in even greater danger if they decided that they didn’t want my heir to survive.
When I got out of the shower I dried myself and put on nothing but a robe before going into the kitchen. I saw a thermos with a paper stuck to it saying ‘please eat‘. It was my mom’s writing and I felt bad for worrying her so much but what was I to do?
I didn’t even have the appetite to eat so I just shoved it in the fridge and went to open the cabinet, grabbing something that my mate didn’t seem to be able to live without.
I had never been one to drink but for her to do it so often it had to work for something, shouldn’t it? And right now, I think I really needed that.
