Isabella’s POV
Alexander’s mom walked into the hall with her husband beside her in a blue sapphire mermaid dress and a blue fox mask that covered only her eyes. The Alpha wore similar clothing, an ice–blue suit with a blue bow tie and a wolf mask that covered the middle of his forehead to his
nose.
They both looked dashing and apparently, I wasn’t the only one who thought so because several heads turned as they walked in. I quickly went to them and Alexander’s mom pulled me into a hug.
“You made it!” I said, excited to see her.

“You did promise a lot of alcohol.” She said and we all chuckled.
“You look stunning,” I told her. “The both of you, you might be the best dressed out of everyone here.”
“Oh stop it.” The former Luna smiled.
I moved closer to the former Alpha and bowed.
“What? My wife gets a hug and I don’t?”
I chuckled and let him envelop me in his embrace. I disappeared momentarily into his arms. I always forget how tall the men were in the family.
“You look stunningly beautiful,” The former Alpha said to me and I smiled.

The party was in full swing now and was going smoothly and I was internally proud. Alexander was still not back from his trip. I had called him an hour ago before I came downstairs and he had told me he was on his way.
“Good job Luna.” Blake and Mason both patted me on the shoulder as they came to stand beside me.
“I
“Thank you,” I said looking straight at the stage. A girl that was part of the pageant was singing as her talent.
Her voice was captivating and beautiful and so was she with long flowy blonde hair that stopped at her waist. I also thought her dress was the prettiest among the other contestants. I glanced up at Blake and he was dressed in a grey suit with a werewolf grey mask that stopped just below his nose.
“You look great Blake,” I said to him and he smiled shyly.
“Thank you. Sasha picked out the mask,”
“She did a good job,” I said with a smile.
I glanced over at Mason, he was wearing A black suit with a brown fox mask that covered most of his face. He looked effortlessly handsome. They both did.
The crowd began to clap and I joined them, realizing at that moment that girl had just finished singing.
“Alexander still not here yet?” Blake asked

“Not yet, no,” I said as I shook my head. I was trying not to think about
it too much but it was upsetting how late he was.
“Bella.” I heard Chloe’s voice call from behind and I turned.
“Hey, you are here!” I rushed to hug her.
“You look stunning.”
“So do you.”
I glanced up to find Ryder carrying little Xekey. Ryder looked great in a black suit and a champagne baby mask and Xekey looked adorable in a same color baby suit and a tiny wolf mask.
“Hey there Xekey,” I said as I pinched his soft cheeks softly. He giggled at me. “You look so handsome!” I told him and he giggled again.
“Nice mask Ryder,” I said, trying not to laugh at the baby mask.
“Thank you.” He said as he rolled his eyes.
“Sorry we are a little late, we missed the pageant didn’t we?” Chloe spoke up.
“Not all of it,” I said.
“Come, your seats are over here.” I beckoned on the family of three and they followed me.
“You did amazing, oh my Goddess,” Chloe said as she glanced around the ballroom.
“Thank you.
“Girl, I’m not even joking. The fact that you did this all on your own

without any event planners?”
“I mean I didn’t do it alone. I had some volunteers.”
Chloe waved me off. “Trust me, you did.”
Chloe waved a waiter walking around with drinks over and snatched two champagne flutes. She handed me one and she raised her glass as if to make a toast.
“To a successful party.” She said.
“To a successful pack party,” I repeated and we clinked our glass and took a sip of our drink.
“Wow, this is really good!” Chloe said.
“I know right? Caleb chose it.”
“It tastes great. Please tell me you have more of this in the cellar,”
“You know it!”
“I’m stealing some on my way home.” She said with a grin.
“No problem.”
“Where’s Alexander? I don’t see him anywhere,” Chloe glanced around.
“He’s not here yet but he’s on his way, he’ll be here soon,” I told her, placing my now empty glass on the table.
“You really look stunning, like danger mixed with more danger,” She said as she eyed me up and down. “And sexiness,”

body all the way to my ankle and a diamond choker necklace that Alexander had gotten me a few months back.
My hair was in an intricate bun on top of my head with two curled strands framing my face. My mask was also red, a red wolf–modeled mask with fur surrounding it that covered only my eyes. My lips were a fire engine red and my nails were a matching color.
“I’ll be right back, I have to go welcome the rest of the guests,” I said to Chloe as I stood.
“Go for it.”

“Where the hell are you, Xander?” I said into the phone as I left the party in the hallway.
“I’m sorry babe, I’ll be there soon. Traffic is terrible.” Alexander said, he sounded sorry but it didn’t make me feel any better.
“But the party started an hour ago. I look ridiculous welcoming guests alone!”
“I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
I hung up the phone, still upset. I took a deep breath and went back to the party. The girls were still doing the pageantry. A girl was on stage now playing the piano as her talent.
The judges, which consisted of Blake, Mason, Alexander’s mother, and a woman named Cherry, were seated watching the show in awe. The redhead girl finished her crescendo and the crowd cheered for her.
It was truly beautiful seeing my hard work pay off even though it almost killed me at first. “And for the twelfth and final contestant…”

Caleb who was co–hosting announced.
“Miah!”
Miah, another blonde–haired girl, came out in a blue gown with a ventriloquist doll. “Ah, a ventriloquist! This should be interesting…” Caleb said.
The guests agreed.
“You may have the stage.” Miah walked up to the stage and began to do her thing. She spoke into the doll but in a German male accent that took everyone by surprise.
It was amazing because her lips were not even moving but we could hear a voice. She introduced herself and began to sing through the doll and the crowd went wild, clapping for her before she was even done.
“Hey.” Sasha appeared beside me.
“Hi.” I glanced over at her, she was wearing a beautiful champagne- colored gown that made her skin pop and a brown–coloured simple
mask.
“There are a lot of talents, how the hell are they going to choose?” Sasha asked, looking straight ahead at the ventriloquist girl
“Well, Miah is definitely going to win this one,” I said.
“No doubt.”
I joined the crowd in a standing ovation as they clapped for Miah.
“Miah has my vote,” Chloe said as she came to stand beside me.
“Mine too,” Sasha said.

Sasha and Chloe waved at each other and complimented each other’s
looks. I was glad they were getting along now. It felt great to have everyone I cared about around me. Except Alexander who was still not here for some reason.
“Alright! That was exciting huh?” Caleb came back on stage and the crowd screamed yes in unison.
“The judges are going to have a tough one with these acts, huh?” The crowd responded with a shout of affirmation, “Alright, moving on, we‘ ll be giving the judges time to make their decision but never fret, this is in no way the last performance of the night. There are more to come. This was for the ladies. The men also have some dueling talents they’d like to share but before we do that, everyone stand up and take your partner’s hand to the dance floor and I want to see you dance. Now to open the dance floor…” Caleb glanced at me with raised eyebrows.
I knew why he was asking, he was asking about Alexander.
I shook my head, telling him to stall by tapping my watch.
“Is the Alpha and Luna!” I facepalmed myself. Alexander wasn’t around yet.
“What are you doing?” I mouthed at Caleb. He gestured with his chin for me to look behind me and I did.
“Hello, princess,” Alexander said, walking towards me, looking rakishly handsome in the suit and Mask I had gotten him.
“You made it!” I said as I hugged him
“Wouldn’t dare miss it.”
