Alexander’s pov.
“Seems the monthly cost of the pack has once again doubled.” I said somewhat absentmindedly to Blake in my Study. I was flipping over a documents that contained the monthly account and expenses of the pack, trying to ignore my natural instincts drawing me to Isabella. Blake was seated opposite me. He had been the one to remind me of the paperwork again.
I glanced up at him and gave him a questioning look when he didn’t say anything for several moments.
“what’s up with you and Isabella?” he asked, completely ignoring my first statement.
I rolled my eyes at him. I should have known Blake of all people would have been the one to notice the tension between me and my Luna. He wouldn’t be my Beta if he didn’t.
“What makes you think there’s anything going on?” I countered his question with mine, trying to avoid the subject without blatantly ignoring it. I knew Blake meant well but I doubted he’d take it well if he knew Sasha was part of the reason there was tension between me and Isabella
“I’m not blind Xander…” he said with a roll of his eyes.
“Do you want to talk about it?” he asked when I didn’t give a reply to his statement.
“Nothings going on.” I said, flipping over to another page in the

document. I caught a glimpse of Blake shaking his head at me in disbelief or amusement, I wasn’t sure.
“We need to figure out a way to keep the monthly expenses at bay while still keeping the pack satisfied.” I said to Blake without looking at him, both as a way to change the subject and as a way to actually figure out a solution for the problem at hand. The pack was becoming more difficult to maintain the more we gained recognition and I wasn’t mad about it. I just wasn’t quite prepared for the change.
“Sure, what do you think we should do?” He asked.
“Get me the accounts for the last three months will you?” I told Blake as I flipped through the documents in my hand. I didn’t have a solution yet but maybe looking over the paper work would give me an idea.
He came back five minutes later with a document in his hand, a flash drive and a cup of tea.
“Where’s your computer?” he asked, dropping the cup of tea on the table. wordlessly I brought out my laptop from my top drawer.
“The flash drive contains the numbers for the last year. You can go over them later.”
He handed me the documents and I opened it and was shocked at how drastically the cost of maintaining the pack had increased over the last four months.
“I think the security detail is what’s cause the increase.” Blake said, pointing to a section that showed that what he was talking about was
true.
“I caught her drinking again!” I said, snapping the document shut so suddenly that Blake blinked in shock.

“I’m going to assume we are talking about Isabella and not the security wolves.” He said cautiously.
“yes, obviously” I said with a huge sigh as I ran my hands down my hair in frustration.
“Okay, walk me through it. What happened?” Blake straightened. He walked over to his former chair and took a seat.
“Went over to her room two hours ago and found her in her apartment wasted to hell.”
“Really? She looked pretty fine to me.” Blake said with his face. scrunched up in both disbelief and confusion.
“Okay, wasted might be a tad of an exaggeration but she had been drinking the night before when I got there with Chloe and that b… um, Sasha.” I said, quickly correcting myself from calling Sasha a bitch.
“I see.” Blake said as he leaned back into his chair in thought as if he was processing some huge rocket science math problem.
“Why were they drinking anyway?” he finally asked.
I shrugged. “I don’t know, something about a celebration, I think on her becoming Luna or something like that but that’s not the point, the point is that she was drinking again…”
“What? She’s not allowed to celebrate?” I glared at Blake’s intentional avoidance of the main issue.
He let out a chuckle before speaking again.
“Look, Xander. I get where you are coming from but I just don’t see the problem with her celebrating with her friends.”

“The problem is,” I gritted out…“she shouldn’t be drinking at all. What would have happened if some of the other loose mouthed maids walked into her room looking like that. She should be more responsible than that.”
“Okay, look. I’ve known Isabella for a long time and she’s the most responsible person I know. So what if she likes to party and drink? You have to understand that was her life before she met you and it’s not just going to automatically stop because you want it to plus she’s actually doing a good job with her new role and she’s not partying as much. You should cut her some slack. She’s given up a lot for you, you know and as for the maids, who the hell cares what they think?”
“Yeah. I know but I’m sill not comfortable with the idea of her just drinking all willingly in the pack house.”
Blake snorted in response. “Never thought I’d say this to you but you sound like a house wife right now.” Blake said mockingly with a small smirk.
I glared at him and he put up his hand in mock surrender.
“Hey, I’m just stating facts here.”
I heaved a heavy sigh and let myself fall back deeper into my chair.
“Just let the poor woman be, she’s trying so much to please you.”
“She has a funny way of showing it.” I said with an eye roll. I scrunched up my face, realizing I did actually sound like a housewife complaining about her husband’s habits to her friends.
“And another thing…” I started. “Sasha…”
“What about Sasha?” Blake asked with furrowed brows.

“she was the one that got the drinks…”
“Well that’s rather inconsequential in…”
“I’m not very comfortable with her new found friendship with my Luna.” I blurted out
Blake nodded, objectively.
“Okay, I get where you are coming from but…”
The door to my study opened and in walked the devil herself, looking painfully beautiful as always.
“Isabelle.” Blake said in greeting as he stood.
“Blake.” She gave him a curt nod and a small smile.
“Got some color on your cheeks.” He pointed out.
“oh, shit. Thought I got it all off.” Isabella said as she tried to wipe It off. Blake chuckled. “I’m sure it will come off with a little soap and water.”
“yeah…”
“Well, I’ll leave you guys to it.” Blake said before facing me and sending a mind link for me to talk to damn woman and to stop acting like a house wife.
As soon as Blake Left, I stood up and simultaneously, Isabella walked up to me. We stopped barely a hares breath away from each other.
“Can we stop this now?” she asked, her face countered into an expression that was both tired and upset. My heart leaped in my chest at her simple words that meant everything.

“I can’t take this not talking to each other shit anymore. I miss you.” She continued, looking up at me with a pleading look.
“Me too.”
My hands immediately wrapped around her and I took her lips in mine and I couldn’t be happier when she eagerly reciprocated the gesture. We’d only been fighting for a couple of hours but it felt like years, now that I was in her embrace.
She massaged my tongue with hers and pulled at my lower lips showing me how much she really did miss me. Her lips were just as eager as mine was, hungry and thirsty for mine. I groaned into her eager kisses and she responded with a little moan.
I pulled her closer to me pressing my regret, anger and love into the kiss. I needed her so badly sometimes it was embarrassing. How can a tiny creature make me so weak in the knees? Her moans were soft as they were urgent and I pulled her closer to me and lifted her up to straddle me as I sat back on my chair.
“Bella, if we continue like this, I won’t be able to stop…”
“Then don’t…” she whimpered into my mouth.
”
She held my face in her small hands and I pulled her hair gaining back control.
Her hands bunched up my shirt as she tried to pull me deeper into the kiss, closer to her and into her skin.
“Bella…” I panted when she finally came up for air
“Are we cool now?” she asked with her fore head touching mine.
“We are more then cool.”

I breathed out, catching her bottom lips into my mouth again and kissing her one last time.
“Good.” She said and I didn’t think it was possible to find her more attractive but her commanding word did it.
“Now, what have you been up to all day?” She asked as she tried to straighten my shirt.
“Thinking about us, you.” I said, watching her like a hawk.
“Well, trying not to…”
She chuckled.
“So you missed me huh?”
I inhaled her scent as I dotted kissed up and down her naked arms.
“I wanted to scream when you completely Ignored me in the garden.” I said, kissing the back of her hand.
“I missed you too.” She grinned and began to pull away from my lap.
I dragged her back in place not ready to let go of her yet.
“Where do you think you are going?”
“Xander.” She giggled. “I need to talk to you about something pack related and I know you won’t take anything seriously in this position.”
“Try me.” I said, kissing her temple.
“Yes…” she moaned when my mouth moved to her nape.
“Xander!” she pushed at my chest when my hands began to move lower. Reluctantly, I let get go.
