How could Marianne’s bracelet possibly end up in my bag? I didn’t even make any physical contact with her. How did her bracelet end up with me?
Suddenly, Ruthanne had an epiphany.
She recalled the moment when Marianne bumped into her and appeared from behind.
She must have dropped the bracelet in my bag without my knowledge at that time! But why? I have been avoiding Marianne at all costs, being cautious and on guard, but somehow I still fell into her trap.
“You are really vicious, Marianne. What’s the point of all this?”
Ruthanne felt deeply disgusted as she looked at her own sister, Marianne, betraying and sabotaging her.
Her voice was once again drowned out by the self–proclaimed cries of justice from the crow
“She’s really a thief!”
“You shouldn’t let her go easy, Miss. People like her are deplorable. You should send her to the police -station so that she’ll get her due punishment.”
“Yes! Send her to the police station!”
At that moment, Ruthanne felt utterly helpless in the face of the public’s repugnance toward her.
She came to the realization that her attempts to explain herself would be in vain..
Marianne pouted and sighed. “Forget it. I’ve found my bracelet. I don’t wish to blow
up
the matter.”
“That’s not right! She must be taught a lesson. Miss, your bracelet must be quite valuable. She deserves to go to jail for this! Don’t worry. We’ve got your back!”
“Yes, we’ve got your back! The police station is just ahead. Let’s take her there!”
Before Ruthanne could return to her senses, the bystanders started to drag her to the police station.
When she turned her head, she saw Marianne looking at her with a smug expression on her face.
Ruthanne felt a deep sense of despair, helplessness, and misery.
She couldn’t understand why Marianne held such strong animosity toward her.
Is it simply because I’m Theodoric’s wife? But he doesn’t love me. He loves her!
Amidst the commotion, Ruthanne had been dragged into the police station by the crowd.
While she stayed silent in a secluded corner of the detention center, the passersby were filled with righteous anger as they recounted what had happened.
With a triumphant air, Marianne swaggered over, brandishing her phone. “I’ve already called Theodore,” she sneered, leaning in close to Ruthanne. “You’re done for!”

This is Ruthanne’s true nature. She stole my limelight during our childhood, and now she wants to steal my beloved. She’s nothing but an unscrupulous thief! I need to make sure Theodore knows her true colors.
Ruthanne resigned to her fate. “What good will it do if you call him?”
Marianne laughed out loud. “Didn’t you two tie the knot? If he doesn’t come to your rescue, who will? But I’m genuinely curious about what Theodore will do when he finds out you stole from me. Will he still let you stay by his side?”
I didn’t steal her things. I was framed!
Ruthanne wanted to shout out the truth, but what good would it do?
No one was willing to trust her. Even if Theodoric was here, he probably wouldn’t believe her.
After all, love is blind. It was unlikely that Theodoric, who was in love with Marianne, would investigate the matter.
Soon after, a familiar Rolls–Royce Cullinan pulled up along the road. Theodoric and Silvius walked into the police station.
When Marianne saw Theodoric, she immediately rushed toward him and held his arm. She then pointed at Ruthanne and complained, “Theodore, look at her! I feel so aggrieved!”
The man remained expressionless as he glanced at Ruthanne.
He forcefully freed his arm from Marianne’s grip and strode purposefully toward Ruthanne.
Feeling uneasy under his intense gaze, Ruthanne instinctively clutched her clothing, bracing herself for the torrent of reproach and reprimand from the man.
However, what happened next was beyond her expectation.
He asked anxiously, “Who locked you up? Do you know I’ve been looking for you everywhere? Why didn’t you answer your call?”
