“How dare you, Ruthanne! Do you think I would be scared? You slept with a random man a couple of days ago, and now you’re Theodoric’s wife. If he finds out about that, you’re dead!”
“Tell him, then!” Ruthanne didn’t feel threatened at all. Why should I be scared? Theodoric and I have no feelings for each other anyway!

Ruthanne felt as if she had been stabbed in the heart. “Marianne, how could you say such words? She’s also your grandma!”
