The moment he moved his finger away and saw the family name, “Forrest,” Mary barged into the study.
“It’s bad, Mr. Lasker! Mrs. Lasker and Ms. Marianne seem to be fighting.”
Theodoric looked up in astonishment. “Mrs. Lasker?”
“It… It’s Ms. Ruthanne.”

Theodoric threw down the file and walked toward the door. Ballard asked, “Mr. Lasker, what should I do with these?”
Theodoric’s eyes darkened. “Destroy them.”
He was sure that the girl he had met fifteen years ago was Marianne just by looking at the photo. If she found out that I’d been investigating her, she would be upset.
Once Theodoric left the study, Ballard put the documents into the shredder.
The machine whirred and shredded the document into tiny pieces.
Alas, Theodoric had no idea that it was Ruthanne’s name on the application form.
Meanwhile, Ruthanne and Marianne were fighting in the room.
“Ruthanne, you shameless woman! What are you doing here? Theodore is mine! He’s my man!”
Marianne had her hands on Ruthanne’s shoulders, shaking her with all her might
Ruthanne felt so dizzy that she nearly threw up all of her breakfast.
Yet, Marianne not done. She reached out and gave Ruthanne a tight slap.

To Marianne, that was a fatal blow.

Exasperated, Marianne reached out and wanted to tear the marriage certificate into pieces. Before that could happen, however, Ruthanne retracted her arm.
“Tell me now who the homewrecker is, Marianne. This is our marriage certificate. I’m his legal spouse! His wife!”
“You’re lying!” Marianne could not believe her ears. “He said he would marry me!”
Ruthanne was not someone who liked to show off.
However, Marianne was p*ssing her off. No matter how gentle Ruthanne might be, she would not allow Marianne to bully her.
She casually tightened her grip around her marriage certificate and said coldly, “I told you before not to boast about things before they are confirmed. Are you really sure that he wants to marry you?”
“You!” Marianne was about to explode. “Just you wait. I’ll show Theodore who you truly are!”
